This Year's Model Updates:

As the model was fully redesigned for the 2003 model year, there are only a few changes on the 2004 Honda Accord. Availability of side curtain airbags has been expanded this year to four-cylinder EX models -- standard on those with leather, optional on cars with a cloth interior. All four- and six-cylinder EX models equipped with a leather interior now have XM Satellite Radio with three months of free service as standard equipment. And as with all Honda cars this year, a new seatbelt reminder system is standard. Accord models meeting California's stringent Partial Zero Emissions Vehicle (PZEV) standards -- all four-cylinder sedans equipped with automatic transmission -- will also be sold in the states of New York, Maine, Vermont and Massachusetts.

Pros:
  • Tight build quality, quiet cabin, refined and powerful engines, reputation for quality and durability, high crash test scores.
Cons:

  • Great Car - 2004 Honda Accord

I drove a 99 Civic EX before this and the difference is amazing. The acceleration is fantastic! Ive added the V2 CAI and Borla Exhaust and it just adds so much to the driving experience. Oh, the noise! I try to find the smallest excuse to go out and drive it... its that much fun! So far Ive got 27,000 miles on the car and havent had any big problems yet. The brakes are starting to shudder a little, but then again they arent this cars strong point. Everything about this car is smooth. The gear changes, the looks, the interior. This is a great car. I just wish they made more aftermarket stuff for it.

  • Does what I bought it for - 2004 Honda Accord

I traded my nice Audi for this car because I wanted a car I could rack up a lot miles on it worry-free. I wanted something reliable, fuel-efficient yet retain a certain level of fun-to-drive factor. The V6 packs a respectable punch and gets pretty good mileage for its size (comparable to the 4 cylinder Audi it replaced actually). Even though fuel efficiency was one of my objectives, a V6 typically doesnt fit that description. However, the 3.0L V6 provides a good balance of performance and economy. The suspension is too soft to be considered sporty and the tires arent much help either. Im satisfied with the car. Its serving the main purpose I bought it for, even exceeding in some.

  • 2004 Accord EX V6 - 2004 Honda Accord

I have owned several Hondas over the years. The 2004 Accord EX V6, is really nice. They have upgraded the interior and interior features. This car has all of the features of the lower end luxury cars, at thousands less in price. The XM radio is a great plus. The ride and road noise is much better than Hondas of the past. The V6 gets up and goes. The speedometer is huge and has new lighting. There is plenty of trunk space.

  • Honda is alright! - 2004 Honda Accord

I like the car. It is fast and sturdy. I traded in a 1997 Infiniti Q45 to save on gas and it is saving me almost $100 per month. I bought it used and it still feels like new. It was Honda certified which gave me some piece of mind. I definitely recommend buying this car if youre thinking about it. I rented a Ford Explorer SUV and my accord car has more rear passenger room than that thing.

  • Perfect car - 2004 Honda Accord

My car has had zero problems from day one. I do the oil changes at the dealership, and every other time I rotate tires. I do all the maintenance check ups, and thatÂ’s it! A wonderful car!

Hi everyone. Just got rid of my 04 accord ex with 79k miles. Wow! Low miles? You may ask why I sold it. These cars are bullet proof right? Im sure they are but not mine. I bought the car 7 months ago with 71k miles on it. I came from a toyota yaris so this was a huge step! I decided to go for the other most reliable Japanese cars. Little did I know I was making a mistake. First off car had an issue serving to the right. Showed 4 mechanics (professionals) and no one knew what was wrong. Secondly the most devasting thing was that the engine oil burned in ridiculous amounts. Which meant for a new engine. 3000 bucks?? No way! I cant afford that. Got rid of it and now Im car less. Great.. anyways the steering is extremely stiff. Great for highways but not so good on parking lots and city. I could not get use to the steering. Kind of sad because I thought I would drive this car into the sunset. Oh well. Next car will be toyota since I had experience with my last one.hope this helps . Forgot to mention. For some reason my accord was gas guzzling. 25 highway and like 14 city. Insane number for a 2.4l. Sad.

  • Probably my favorite car of all time - 2004 Honda Accord

This is our 2nd Accord and this one has all the toys that the other didnt - V6, leather, white (other one was black). We actually traded an older Lexus in for this one, is it a Lexus? Sure its not but its the best buy around for 1/2 the price. Even drive a Camry V6 XLE before buying this one - this one is just plain fun to drive! BTW, did I mention that Im getting 24mpg around town? Thats the same as the 1992 4-banger above.

  • Outstanding Car! - 2004 Honda Accord

Leased this car after looking at BMW 330, Acura TSX and Infiniti G35 Coupe. I used to think the BMW manual was the slickest shifting unit out there until I got my Accord. Clutch is effortless and the shifter moves into each gate with a satisfying mechanical click. Honda really got it right with this car. Fit/finish is what youd expect from Honda- superb. Very mild mannered during normal driving but the 3.0 V6 will stand up and roar if you get your foot in it. This car is every bit as good as its higher-priced competitors. If you dont care much about status symbols like BMW, definitely look at this car and save 10 grand.

  • Poor Relability - 2004 Honda Accord

This is the second time in two months the car goes back to the shop! All problems have been electrical!

  • A good car but has some notable issues - 2004 Honda Accord
    By -

EX V6 CPE 5A Overall this is a good value car that handles pretty well, accelerates well, and is a comfortable and good looking daily driver. The leather interior is a cut above competitors. Fuel economy is acceptable (23mpg). At 60K, the car has held up pretty well with some notable exceptions. First, the transmission is about to go. I had the recall done and it still is shifting rough and slips in 2nd bad. A friend had his go violently and almost crashed. The brake rotors continue to warp and I am replacing them with aftermarket. I replaced the stock wheels with 18s and its a big improvement. Also I had a bunch of squeak and rattle issues as well as a burned out center console.
