Model Overview:

Few vehicles from overseas manufacturers have garnered as much respect in North America as the Honda Accord. It hasn't achieved this status by being glamorous, sexy or thrilling. Instead, Honda just seems to have its finger on the pulse of what Americans value most. Take an Accord for a spin and you'll find it to be comfortable, roomy, intelligently engineered and easy to drive. It's also backed by strong resale value and a solid reputation for reliability.

You'll find that certain competing sedans and coupes are quicker, more prestigious or simply less expensive than the Accord. What's special about the Honda Accord, though, is its completeness. It scores well across a broader range of categories than practically any family-friendly sedan or coupe on the market. When examined from this holistic standpoint, it's easy to see why the Accord has become an automotive icon and remains one of our editors' top recommendations.

  • Great car, even after a decade - 1998 Honda Accord
    By -

Owned this car since it was brand new, and now almost 10 years later it still runs great! Has almost 240k and had no major repairs yet. Im almost expecting something has to fail soon just because of the age and mileage, but it proves me wrong each day. If you want a great car that will take care of you if you take car of it, this is your car.

  • Honda Certified? Not Really.... - 2000 Honda Accord
    By -

I bought this car and it was honda certified. They claimed to have the whole 150 point inspection and everything perfect with the car. I had problems from the beggining of purchase. The SRS airbag light kept coming on. We had it fixed twice. The transmission shift isnt smooth at all. When going uphill and accelerating, the car jerks and seizes, the cupholder cover doesnt stay closed. The service at this Honda dealership was horrible, they didnt service the car at all, they brought it to a private mechanic to fix it instead of their using their own facility.

  • Simply the best - 2003 Honda Accord

The best vehicle on the market. No other vehicle handles better, drives better, feels better, looks better, or performes better

  • 2003 Honda Accord LX Coupe - 2003 Honda Accord
    By -

This is a wonderful automobile. The best I have ever owned. Its too bad that the "Big 3" cant build a car thats half as good as this Accord Coupe....with the exception of the Corvette perhaps. This car is so well balanced and thought out, I think it would be a mistake not to test drive one if youre in the market for a new car. (Where else can you have this much driving fun matched with practicallity and unmatched reliability for $18K? Also, the five speed 4 cylinder is probably the best way to go, since its about three hundred pounds lighter than the V6.

  • My Honda Accord - 2002 Honda Accord
    By -

I got a wonderful deal on my 2002 Honda Accorda LX 4dr/4cy. Great gas mileage while on the open road; 33-36mpg, less than desirable in traffic; 15-20mpg. Im hooked on its looks, have no idea why they changed its great looks, but who am I. Very quiet on the open road, the steering is right on the money, and the little four is able to tackle almost any size mountain/hill while in cruise control when the AC is off. Great overall car for the amount we paid for it $16,400 for a brand new one with 5 miles on it.

  • Transmission problem - 2001 Honda Accord
    By -

Initially I was very satisfied with the vehicle. The car had good acceleration for a 4 cylinder. The auto is comfortable in city or highway driving. The brake pads needed replacing prematurely. The factory Michelin tire provide good traction but wear prematurely. The transmission also failed and required $2500 to repair at 140000 miles. The transmission had shifting difficulties before this. If the transmission had not failed I would have rated this car much higher.

  • Losing it - 2003 Honda Accord
    By -

I have driven Hondas for many years and paid a premium price for their cars. Late last autumn my Accord started to have what I thought was a slight engine tap when it was cold. I took it into a Honda dealer for an assessment. The written assessment stated that their was a slight piston slap but only when the engine was cold. Honda considered the piston slap acceptable. Of course the noise continued to get worse and finally, after a great deal of agravation Honda agreed to replace the engine. They did not provide a loaner nor refund the cost of the analysis. The car runs fine now but I have certainly downgraded Hondas prefered status. Alex. Jenkins

  • I had very good time with this vehicle - 2003 Honda Accord
    By -

I saw many reliability issues discussed in this board. I thought that was strange, because I only had good memories with this car. The, I remember that I did have some problem with brakes with this car. They wore out too quickly. In one case, the pads were completely gone before 25,000 miles, and rotor was slightly damaged. So I paid like $300 for repair, while vehicle was still under warrantee. I need to change pads again, I have 60k miles now. But I had no other problems, and quite enjoyed the ownership. The engine is powerful and handling is quite good. After 5 years since introduction, this car still looks pretty!

  • Love this car! - 2000 Honda Accord

I just bought this accord as a Honda certified used car...Great car i love it! get power with the V6 the interior is awesome and overall handling is awesome! if you are going to get a certified used car get a certified honda! best warranty and the service you get at the dealerships are great! I just recently took it in for service and without me asking they went a head and gave me a loaner car until my car was finished! great experience, I am glad i went back to Honda after owning a piece of crap GM product.
