Model Overview:

Few vehicles from overseas manufacturers have garnered as much respect in North America as the Honda Accord. It hasn't achieved this status by being glamorous, sexy or thrilling. Instead, Honda just seems to have its finger on the pulse of what Americans value most. Take an Accord for a spin and you'll find it to be comfortable, roomy, intelligently engineered and easy to drive. It's also backed by strong resale value and a solid reputation for reliability.

You'll find that certain competing sedans and coupes are quicker, more prestigious or simply less expensive than the Accord. What's special about the Honda Accord, though, is its completeness. It scores well across a broader range of categories than practically any family-friendly sedan or coupe on the market. When examined from this holistic standpoint, it's easy to see why the Accord has become an automotive icon and remains one of our editors' top recommendations.

  • Great Great Car! - 2006 Honda Accord

I have to admit I have always been a Toyota Camry woman until this car. Love it. I am so pleased with the car, rides great, good on gas, very very roomy. I have the silver which is very good on dirt. This is just a great car and I would tell anyone to get one.

You cant go wrong with the 2001 Accord EX-V6 Coupe. The engine is powerful and smooth ... requiring minimal maintenance and providing good economy. The transmission is top-notch, also delivering great performance. Ive had no trouble with the car at all. My only dig would be that the car feels a bit less solid than it could ... keeping it from "best car" honors. However, Im sure that my Honda will be in service with fewer repairs much longer than the "best car".

  • No real problems yet - 2001 Honda Accord
    By -

I bought my 2001 Accord EX in 2000, and currently have about 46,000 miles on it, so far no major problems. Paint on the rear bumper is scratched / pealing, but I dont know if that is a result of living in NYC or poor manufacturing. Additionally the rear seat teather cover for carseats came off, the rubber started to come off around one of the rear windows, and the clutch was sticking during cold starts. All problems were fixed free of charge (I got it all done before my warrenty expired) and I havent had any serious problems at all. So far, I must say I luv this car (although my 4 cyl. can use a little more punch).

  • Surprised by Honda - 1999 Honda Accord
    By -

I loved the look of this car when it first appeared back in 1998. I finally bought a pre-owned Accord, a 1999 model, this last year in 2001. Ive gotta say, the car looks great in and out (I get compliments often from friends), BUT Ive never owned a car with so many rattles. The dash, glove box, and back shelf rattle to no end-- Ive attempted the dealer repair route and got nowhere. THEN, the car began stalling: this is an automatic. After FOUR trips to an independent repair shop, they were able to narrow down the cause. It was a lease-return with low miles, so I was not expecting to encounter problems.

I used to own a Toyota Solara and was content. When it was time to get a new car my mind was set on another Solara until I test drove the Honda Coupe. After the drive I clearly knew which car to buy.

  • Wonderful Value for Your Money - 2002 Honda Accord

Hondas offer great value and are the most reliable vehicles that you can buy. If you want a vehicle that is environmentally friendly, wont be worthless at trade in time, and provides a safe and comfortable environment while driving, then look at the Honda. I just bought a 2002 Honda Accord VP model. I put 1000 miles on it in three days. It has just about everything anyone really needs except power windows/locks. I paid in the $14,000-$15,000 range. If you are not adverse to a lower horsepower 4 cylinder engine, and can live without the other options I mentioned earlier, then this car will make you happy.

  • 2008 Honda Accord - 2008 Honda Accord

My problem is the $1000.00 maintenance requirement (not covered by the warrantee) at 100,000 miles. Something about a timing belt. Other than that it has been a great car.

  • Its a GREAT Car - 1995 Honda Accord

I would have given it all 10s except for the AC. I have had trouble with mine not getting real cold. I paid about $400 once for it to be fixed, and it made no difference in the end. It works, just not well for our hot humid summers here in St. Louis. Now 12 years old, the electric window motors are wanting to quit. I wont put any money into this car and plan on driving it until it gives out. This vehicle has cost me very little to run for the past ten years. Brakes, mufflers, oil, tires, and the previously mentioned AC issue. I had to replace the clutch slave/master thingy once, and a cv boot once after a car did a hit and run on me while my vehicle was parked.

  • A smooth car with no worries... - 2004 Honda Accord
    By -

You pay a premium to buy a Honda, but the extra $ will be paid back in spades in peace of mind, engineering excellence and retail value. This car is a dream to drive -- the standard 5-speed automatic is silky smooth. The interior controls are cleverly designed and well-lit. Thoughtful touches abound, from intelligently designed cupholders to the ability to put all the windows down at the same time at a touch of your key. The car is quite comfortable, to boot, but folks upgrading from an American car (I switched from a Taurus) will have to adjust to the more firm, road hugging ride.
