This Year's Model Updates:

Following a complete redesign last year, the 2009 Honda Accord carries over unchanged, though the V6's official engine output is up a smidge after further testing revealed slightly more power than previously measured.

Pros:
  • Ample passenger space, high-quality interior, above-average steering feel, high resale value, available coupe body style.
Cons:
  • Intrusive road noise, button-heavy center stack, some find seats uncomfortable.

  • Honda Coupe LX-S - 2009 Honda Accord

After researching several competing models I settled on the Honda Coupe 4 cyl. automatic. It seemed to offer a reasonable compromise between fuel economy and sporty styling. The ride/drive was uninspiring until adding after market 18 inch wheels and 245/40/18" tires which made the car a much more enjoyable vehicle in most all respects, primarily due to the reduction in unsprung weight (check the weight of the factory wheel tire combo). Im averaging 28 MPG overall, and with the acceptable performance of the 190 HP 4 cyl., I dont feel like Im driving a "econobox".

  • Great Car - 2009 Honda Accord
    By -

I have had this car for almost a year and it is fantastic. The brakes are very strong, the pickup is fast (definitely no need to buy the v6), the interior is nice, the leather is awesome, the sound system rocks, have had no mechanical problems...it is a great car. As many have pointed out, the engine is a little loud and so is the road noise. The fuel economy is about as expected, around 25. I would recommend it to anyone.

  • Pigtail connector - 2009 Honda Accord

The Honda Accord was my dream car sense i was in high school over 20 years ago, and my husband was determine to find me my dream car, which he did 10 months before he took his journey to be with the Lord 1-2016. So i am determine to take care of my car because it was the very last gift that he purchased for me. however i have experience some car issues for the first time sense He purchased the car from Goodwin Honda now Freedom Honda in Sumter SC on 3-2015. The alternator went bad and burnt out the pigtail wiring harness which almost caught on firer. Now i have purchase the alternator however i am having the hardest time finding the pigtail wire connector. I am finding that no one has that part, not even the junkyard. I have been informed that i will have to buy the whole engine wiring harness. The pigtail wiring harness is not sold separately. My engine wiring harness was not damaged only the pigtail part but in order to get the part that i need i have to buy a part that i dont need which is what strange to me. For Honda to brand themselves on being the top of the line it should not be so difficult for owner to retrieve what they need in order for there cars to run properly. Buying parts that you dont need in order to get the part that you do need is a waste of money. I have never seen nothing like it. I was just wondering if someone else has experience the same problem as i have. Difficulty purchasing parts. Because i live in the south, the temperature stays in the 90s or above. With the leather interior the heat will cause it to thin and wrinkle. For Honda to be such a beautiful luxury car up there with the Lexus, the quality of the leather interior should be more suitable in strength as far as heat resistant. I love Hondas i do believe that these are the best made cars. If taken care of properly it will last for a long time. Good on gas, good on miles, beautiful luxury cars. However dont make it so difficult for owner when repairs need to be done. #STRESSFUL

  • Great value, well rounded, spacious - 2009 Honda Accord
    By -

This is my 3rd Accord. Had an 04 & 07, both leases that had navi. I went without navi to save money this time. Definitely miss the leather but got such a good deal, I dont mind because its another lease. Love the upgraded engine and more room. The seats are a little wider and boxier. But not uncomfortable as others have said. The road noise is the same as the 07. Ive test driven the Altima, Camry and Malibu. No car in this class blows me away but the Accord has the most pros than cons. If I could afford to, I would buy an Acura or Infiniti. On highway driving I get about 29 mpg. This car gives you the most for your dollar.

  • 08 EX oil burner - 2009 Honda Accord
    By -

Bought this in 9/08 and was in the shop constantly. My biggest concern was the oil usage, one qt every 1500 miles. Hondas official response after monitoring its consumption for 3 mo. was "as long as it didnt burn one qt every 1000 miles, it was normal". Thats their official response, and that was not coming from the dealer, that was HONDA. Other concerns: one burned out cat converter, (daaa wonder why), 4 tires replaced due to vibration at hwy speeds, never did solve the vibration. 2nd gear syncros not messing without a grind and missed shift. (no it was not my shifting expertise, Honda) I was told by Honda that the oil burning would go away, maybe. Ya, right! I sold this gem 3 mo ago.

  • Great upgrade from Civic - 2009 Honda Accord
    By -

Just purchased the 2009 Honda Accord EXL. What an upgrade from the 2006 Civic EX that I had. Being the 4th Honda Ive owned Im definitely a loyal Honda owner and the newest Accord reaffirms my loyalty. Great styling, handling and features for the price. I highly recommend any Honda, but especially the Accord.

  • STIFF AND THIRSTY!!!! - 2009 Honda Accord

How do these companies get away with misleading mileage estimates? I have had my 4CYL Accord EX-L for almost a month and have yet to break the 22 m.p.g barrier on mixed or extended highway trips!! The acceleration for the 190 h.p is very good and the steering is nicely weighted. The ride though is very stiff and the leather drivers seat is even stiffer. I have a 37 mile one way drive to work and it is annoying trying to find a comfortable seating position. Honda please isolate the road noises luckily it has a good radio to try and drown out the LOUD road noise. I think higher profile tires might soften and quiet the ride...MAYBE!! Ill need the high resale value on the trade in SOON!!

  • I love my Accord! - 2009 Honda Accord
    By -

I love my new Accord, the seats are very comfortable, especially the back seats. There is plenty of leg room in the back seat as well. Its fun to drive and handles well. The only somewhat negative comment I have is that road noise is a little loud but nothing thats unbearable. The stereo is great, the Navigation system is awesome and it has a great ride. I am very happy with my purchase.
