This Year's Model Updates:

The Honda Accord -- one of America's favorite vehicles -- has been substantially changed for 2003. Continuing as a sedan and a coupe, the 2003 Honda Accord features more powerful and fuel-efficient engines, increased safety and higher levels of interior comfort. A voice-activated GPS navigation system is optional, and a sporty EX coupe debuts in early 2003.

Pros:
  • Tight build quality, quiet cabin, refined powertrains, comfortable driver seat, outstanding optional navigation system.
Cons:
  • Missing key features, relatively small trunk, mushy handling with V6.

This is a wonderful automobile. The best I have ever owned. Its too bad that the "Big 3" cant build a car thats half as good as this Accord Coupe....with the exception of the Corvette perhaps. This car is so well balanced and thought out, I think it would be a mistake not to test drive one if youre in the market for a new car. (Where else can you have this much driving fun matched with practicallity and unmatched reliability for $18K? Also, the five speed 4 cylinder is probably the best way to go, since its about three hundred pounds lighter than the V6.

The best vehicle on the market. No other vehicle handles better, drives better, feels better, looks better, or performes better

  • Losing it - 2003 Honda Accord

I have driven Hondas for many years and paid a premium price for their cars. Late last autumn my Accord started to have what I thought was a slight engine tap when it was cold. I took it into a Honda dealer for an assessment. The written assessment stated that their was a slight piston slap but only when the engine was cold. Honda considered the piston slap acceptable. Of course the noise continued to get worse and finally, after a great deal of agravation Honda agreed to replace the engine. They did not provide a loaner nor refund the cost of the analysis. The car runs fine now but I have certainly downgraded Hondas prefered status. Alex. Jenkins

  • I had very good time with this vehicle - 2003 Honda Accord

I saw many reliability issues discussed in this board. I thought that was strange, because I only had good memories with this car. The, I remember that I did have some problem with brakes with this car. They wore out too quickly. In one case, the pads were completely gone before 25,000 miles, and rotor was slightly damaged. So I paid like $300 for repair, while vehicle was still under warrantee. I need to change pads again, I have 60k miles now. But I had no other problems, and quite enjoyed the ownership. The engine is powerful and handling is quite good. After 5 years since introduction, this car still looks pretty!

  • Should have... - 2003 Honda Accord

My wife and I bought a new 2004 Honda Odyssey which now has 53000 miles with no maintenance but oil changes. When I decided to trade my 2000 Mercury Mystique LS with 80000 miles, I found out that there was not trade-in value and that I probably could have/should have bought a Honda Accord back then. When I got into this 2003 Accord LX and drove it, I knew this was the car for me. I really enjoy driving this car-smooth ride, great handling, great workmanship

  • A Dream - 2003 Honda Accord

If any of you all are doing research for your next car, look no further. This car has it all. Engine power, agility, quiet cabin, plenty of room, terrific speakers, and tremendous acceleration. In short, an absolute dream. Why pay twice as much for a BMW 3 series when you have it all with this one.

Compared to my 2001, the car has significantly more rattles and road noise - the sound deading material seems non-existant.

  • Extreme Gas Consumption - 2003 Honda Accord

While I love the car, it is using more gas than an SUV, even though it is a 4 cylinder. It took a while to get Honda to believe me but they finally replaced the computer, catalytic converter and O2 sensor after 2 weeks of testing. But guess what, this didnt fix the problem so they shipped the car to their Toronto engineers for 5 weeks of testing. Surprise, the engineer says the car runs according to spec, Honda says tough luck. Curiously, the spec says 7 Litres/ 100 Km city and 9L highway, I calculate an average of 13L.For US readers this is more than a GM Suburban.

  • Wouldnt buy another Honda - 2003 Honda Accord

Immediately after the 36000 mile warranty expired, the doors started to rattle. The car is not even 2 years old. Honda is falling in quality work it looks like. I did a search on the Accord and a lot of people are having problem with this car. Wouldnt recommend this car to anybody. I will be ditching this car once I have enough money for a downpayment.

  • Increasingly Disappointed - 2003 Honda Accord

It is almost 2 years since we bought this car, and weve always been happy with it. But lately its been having some problems. When u shift from Park to anything else, sometimes the button wont press all the way and the car wont shift. Also the paint is just chipping off on the front bumper for no reason. This makes me extremely angry. The dealership still hasnt been able to fix the window rattles. I hope the problems go away when we get the car fixed. Or Ill be angry and filing the car under lemon law.
