This Year's Model Updates:

Following a complete redesign last year, the 2009 Honda Accord carries over unchanged, though the V6's official engine output is up a smidge after further testing revealed slightly more power than previously measured.

Pros:
  • Ample passenger space, high-quality interior, above-average steering feel, high resale value, available coupe body style.
Cons:
  • Intrusive road noise, button-heavy center stack, some find seats uncomfortable.

  • Great car - 2009 Honda Accord
    By -

Ive owned Hondas for the past 12 years and this car is as nice as any Ive had. Performance of the 4cyl. engine seems a bit weaker than my past 2 Accords but is by no means a dog. Complaints about the seats being uncomfortable dont factor into my opinion at all. I find them very comfortable especially for long trips across Texas. I find them a bit low for exit, but not a problem at all when Im in the car. I drive in the El Paso area quite a bit and as far as fuel economy is concerned, I get almost 28 mpg on every tank of gas. This car is a keeper and Ill continue to buy Hondas in the future.

  • The BEST car Ive ever owned! - 2009 Honda Accord

After also considering the redesigned Mazda 6, I decided the Honda was the better choice. The design quality inside and out makes it seems like it is a BMW or Lexus, but at substantial savings. Ive received so many compliments after only 1 month! The V6 engine has phenomenal power, but yet still gets decent gas mileage. The heated seats are very relaxing on a cold winter day. Temperature and audio controls are somewhat complex, but Im getting used to it (Fan will all of a sudden start blowing at higher speed for some reason--not sure whats up with that.) Also VSA feature doesnt have a dashboard indicator saying whether its on or off. Honda did a great job on this redesign!

  • My Black on Black Accord Coupe - 2009 Honda Accord
    By -

This car is very fun to drive, very solid build, and very roomy for a midsize 2 door coupe. The V6 gets good gas mileage considering the amount of performance it has and power whenever you need it. The inside is comfortable and is not as bad as some people make it out to be, but it is no Mercedes or BMW. Ride quality is above average, but could be a little better on a $30K MSRP car. It is very beautiful inside and out. I opted for black on black, design is superb, and the chrome additions to the car make it look 10x better. When I first bought it my coworkers thought it was a Jag or Lexus and liked it better than my coworkers Lexus that they had just purchased. So far Im very happy!

  • Overall Good Buy!! - 2009 Honda Accord

This is my 3rd Accord coupe. I have owned a 2003 and 2006 4CYL. this time I decided on the 2009 V6. It is definitely fun to drive. I look forward to my daily commute. The V6 is powerful and responds immediately, especially if you drive it in D3. The one major complaint I have is the road noise. It seems inherent in all the coupes. Dont know if it is a problem in Sedans. HONDA... please do something about the road and wind noise.

  • Ok car - 2009 Honda Accord
    By -

I bought this car in a good deal. This is my first Honda. The fuel economy is pretty good. I got over 31 miles in my first few trips (mixed driving in city roads and highways). This car has manual driver seat adjustments. It took a while to adjust the position of seat to get a comfortable posture. The ride is bumpier in bumpy roads. There is lots of road noise in cement roads. The 99 Camry that I owned previously had good suspension and less road noise. The sound quality of the music player is mediocre especially for mp3 songs. I liked the style and it is fun to drive.

  • Not dissapointed at all. - 2009 Honda Accord

Purchased the Accord after test driving a Mazda 6, Camry, and Altima. The Accord stood out on overall design/appearance, reliability, build quality and roominess. It was an easy choice after test driving all 4 cars. So far I have 700 miles on the car and Ive been getting 26mpg combined, which I am quite pleased with.

  • Great bang for the Buck - 2009 Honda Accord
    By -

I have had my Honda for 8months now and thought I would relay my remarks. I currently have 10.5k miles. Now Im a pretty picky man and take attention to detail. The Honda took my expectations above and beyond. Nothing broke or had I had a problem with. It did well in the Chicago winter with heated mirrors and the defrosters are placed well. I love this car. I am getting paint chips but I do ride on the Highways mostly. For those that complain about road noise get better/bigger tires - I hear no noise with the stock 18 low profile tires. Those that complain about the seat, well I never have a problem, perhaps my model has a better seat. Great car - I expected to ride this into the ground at 200k+.

  • Seats Are Fine! - 2009 Honda Accord
    By -

This is my 6th Honda that Ive purchased new and so far this is my favorite car. I purchased the Accord EX to replace a lease return Acura RSX Type-S. The build quality is excellent and the mileage is exactly what was advertised. I was a little concerned about the seat comfort based on some of the reviews left on Edmunds.com. I can honestly say the seats are far more comfortable than any of my previous Hondas (2 Accords, 2 Civics and a CRX) and also more comfortable than my Acura RSX.

  • Well Balanced - 2009 Honda Accord
    By -

Balanced between sufficient power (190hp) and fuel economy, between cabin space and sportiness, and excellent suspension tuning. The torque may seem delayed, but the power is there when the Vtech kicks in. The engine noise is noticeable, but it sounds nice. Its not straining to move the car. Its a lot of car for the money. Maybe not the best at anything, but really good at everything. Its a big car, make no mistake about it. Coming out of a Civic its huge. But I wanted a big car. Maybe not "fun" to drive, but very easy to drive.

  • No problems here - 2009 Honda Accord
    By -

I bought my 09 back in Aug of 08. So far Ive driven 5400 miles. Ive had no problems with it. Not once has it been in for any repairs. It does have road noise at cruising speeds. But, coming from a BMW Im use to that. Would be nice if the seats have more cushion. Can get uncomfortable on long trips. I have no issues with the way it drives though. Good gas mileage for this size V6. Overall Im happy with the purchase.
