This Year's Model Updates:

As the model was fully redesigned for the 2003 model year, there are only a few changes on the 2004 Honda Accord. Availability of side curtain airbags has been expanded this year to four-cylinder EX models -- standard on those with leather, optional on cars with a cloth interior. All four- and six-cylinder EX models equipped with a leather interior now have XM Satellite Radio with three months of free service as standard equipment. And as with all Honda cars this year, a new seatbelt reminder system is standard. Accord models meeting California's stringent Partial Zero Emissions Vehicle (PZEV) standards -- all four-cylinder sedans equipped with automatic transmission -- will also be sold in the states of New York, Maine, Vermont and Massachusetts.

Pros:
  • Tight build quality, quiet cabin, refined and powerful engines, reputation for quality and durability, high crash test scores.

  • arthritic car - 2004 Honda Accord

good car but has arthritis. left front door creaks, ceiling creaks, rt back speaker rumbles, and at 10,000 miles, the clutch pedal creaks with crepitus and a creaking noise from rt rear seat around trunk creaks. otherwise, car runs great, excellent mileage, comfortable seats, great ergonomics, good a/c, maybe the assemblers had a hangover when they assembled my car! hopefully dealer will address these issues, still will buy another honda.

We have owned this car for 3 months now and love it (5,000 miles total). We have taken two trips (9 hour, 4 hour drives). The car is very well built--quiet on the road--drives great- -very comfortable. I love the power of the V-6 engine, and the great gas mileage (around 31 mpg on our trips with four people + bags). I also was very happy with the dealer--Meyer Honda, OFallon IL--the salesman let us take multiple test drives on our own without providing several forms of ID, absolutely no high pressure sales tactics, then provided a fair bottom line no haggle price after the test drive. He even let us test drive an Element because my youngest son thought is was "cool."

  • Not So Many Miles - 2004 Honda Accord

Well, I just purchased this about two weeks ago, and have put on it about 400 miles, but its a very good piece of equipment. Ride quality is great, handling is very sporty and it accelerates very easily, without having to put the pedal to the metal. Nothing has changed between the 04 and 05, so if you still find an 04, buy it, you wont regret it

  • Love the Accord - 2004 Honda Accord

The Honda Accord has been an excellent choice for me. The quality is incredible. I cant imagine buying another American car after owning this one. The dealership has provided absolutely incredible service to me. They have gone out of their way to help with any issues I have had. Those issues have been: frozen door lock (from washing it with pressure wash I guess), most recently a problem with Navigation being erractic (they are currently working to resolve this one), possibly a DVD that may be working less than excellent. The only complaint I would have is the fact that the 4 cylinder engine is a bit light on the road and tends to ride a little bumpy & road noise is kind of loud.

  • good value - 2004 Honda Accord

After almost a year of research I settled on the Accord EX-V6. I drove the I-30, ES300, Camry XLE, Avalon XLS, and Maxima. The Accord was the best value for me. I like it better every day. The high horsepower, regular fuel, the fuel economy, and low emissions capped it for me. Along with wanting to support Honda for having the most fuel efficient car line. I have had two minor defects, a bad weld that buzzed at certain RPMs and a bad CD case door. Both were fixed quickly and the dealer was very professional. I love the interior comfort and controls, very ergonomic.

This is not an Accord--its a Prelude on steroids! As fast as my Vette, and a lot more fun to drive. Beautiful Honda engineering under the hood. Ergonomics OK--radio controls a little odd. Already has rattle in headliner. Interior features not as good as Camry Solara, but close. Ride far stiffer than any Honda Ive ever driven, but comfortable enough, and stiff suspension translates into incredible cornering. Also very practical--roomy and gets good gas mileage.

  • Another Honda - 2004 Honda Accord

After driving around 7 different cars we ended up with another Honda. This time we bought an Accord EX. My husband and I were both surprised on the "extras" that came standard on this car. He was looking for leather and I wanted the sunroof. We were also surprised with the amount of legroom you have in the back seat. We were looking for something sporty, but had to go with the 4 door due to having a son. I think the 4 door still looks sporty. My last car was an Accord also and we never had any trouble. We are hoping that Honda continues to have the reliablity we have come to expect.

Exceptionally smooth, well put together vehicle. Performance is exceptionally quick and steady. The NAV system is well worth the extra charge

  • A smooth car with no worries... - 2004 Honda Accord

You pay a premium to buy a Honda, but the extra $ will be paid back in spades in peace of mind, engineering excellence and retail value. This car is a dream to drive -- the standard 5-speed automatic is silky smooth. The interior controls are cleverly designed and well-lit. Thoughtful touches abound, from intelligently designed cupholders to the ability to put all the windows down at the same time at a touch of your key. The car is quite comfortable, to boot, but folks upgrading from an American car (I switched from a Taurus) will have to adjust to the more firm, road hugging ride.
