Overview & Reviews
Few vehicles from overseas manufacturers have garnered as much respect in North America as the Honda Accord. It hasn't achieved this status by being glamorous, sexy or thrilling. Instead, Honda just seems to have its finger on the pulse of what Americans value most. Take an Accord for a spin and you'll find it to be comfortable, roomy, intelligently engineered and easy to drive. It's also backed by strong resale value and a solid reputation for reliability.
You'll find that certain competing sedans and coupes are quicker, more prestigious or simply less expensive than the Accord. What's special about the Honda Accord, though, is its completeness. It scores well across a broader range of categories than practically any family-friendly sedan or coupe on the market. When examined from this holistic standpoint, it's easy to see why the Accord has become an automotive icon and remains one of our editors' top recommendations.

Research Hondas...Transmission problem - 1999 Honda Accord
By Honda99 - March 24 - 4:51 pmI bought the vehicle at 84,000 and thought that Honda goes forever. Did regular service at 85,000. Water pump, timing belt, drive belts, a/c belts, spark plugs, transmission fluid, pretty much a good tune up. But to my surprise I noticed and was told by my mech. that I should have researched before buying this accord as it has manufacturing problems with Transmission. Its not even 100K and the transmission is slipping. When you take off, it hesitates from gear 1 to 2. And when you stop, it gives a little jerk before stopping. This is known issue with Honda (98-02). So, research before you buy it.

No Complaints - 2000 Honda Accord
By E Serrano - March 24 - 11:19 amStarted driving this car with 11k on in in 2000. I now have 158k on it. Very comfortable and still a blast to drive. The V6 is quick and the handling is smooth. My sister has the 2003 and it does not compare. The suspension on this model is much smoother, rides like a luxury car. Have had previous Cadillac owners tell me it rides like a Caddy! The EX trim leaves nothing to be desired. I have had the transmission replaced after factory recall. Just replaced the 02 sensor. Other than an alternator replacement, no big issues with the reliability.

Really Nice - Not Great - One Sour Note - 1994 Honda Accord
By ChiliMac - March 24 - 10:32 amPurchased new in 1993 - the first off of the lot. As of March, 2008 it has 136,000 on it - almost all city with a once-a-year or so long highway trip. Mileage VG 27 city, 30+ highway. Have replaced radiator (2x), starter (2x), CV half shafts, clutch slave and master cylinders, misc. relays, etc. Mechanically, its never really let me down. My complaint is the paint -- the dreaded Honda clear-coat paint failure hit. It looks like C*!%. Roof, trunk, hood, etc. Honda wont cover any of it ("...normal wear and tear..."). So Im supposed to justify $500-to-$1,000 for new paint on a car thats now worth $2,500. Despite my satisfaction otherwise, I dont plan on buying another Honda.

Wonderful ownership experience - 2009 Honda Accord
By Wes Potter - March 22 - 1:07 pmOriginal owner with 70 k miles on it, garage kept and well cared for. In the 8 years that Ive owned it I have spent about $500. in upkeep, which includes oil changes every 4k miles, done at the dealership. Main items replaced are battery, set of tires, rear brakes, air and cabin filter both twice and an alignment. The only thing showing wear is the drivers seat, on the bolsters closest to the door. Gas mileage could be better but the car is large and heavy, so figure 24 around town and low 30s highway. Car has never used oil, but it doesnt have 90k miles yet, either. Hondas have a loyal following because they are honest cars, take care of them and they will take care of you. Great resale, low purchase price and cheep upkeep, thats as good as it gets.

Love My 2007 Honda Accord! - 2007 Honda Accord
By Dottie Mears - March 22 - 11:46 amThe new 2007 Accord is fantastic! Its fun to drive, sporty and has plenty of power. I just sold a 1991 Honda Accord and was not sure what kind of new car I was going to get. I test drove some others and when I drove the new Honda Accord, I was sold! The quality and performance is just hard to beat, not to mention the resale value of a Honda.

V6 Accord - 2002 Honda Accord
By oscar - March 22 - 9:56 amThis is an excellant riding vehicle. The cab rides quieter than previous models and I like that everything is in reach of the driver. This model also comes with the new TCS system. Some negatives are the sounds system, although the EX copmes with 6 speakers and the very nice factory radio there just does not seem to be enough power and sound. Additionally, the leather seats are rough and look synthetic.

Will never own another Honda - 2002 Honda Accord
By mandy - March 21 - 4:59 pmIve grown up always hearing how Nice Hondas were how they ran forever as Long as u change the oil and do the maintenance. Finally I bought one because I was driving 100 Miles a day I needed a car I could afford and it would still hold its value. Well what a let down my Honda has been I bought it with 60,000 Miles on it w no warranty and 2 months after buying it the trans starting slipping. Now with 130,000 Miles on it and even if I replace the trans its only worth $4000 what a disappointment.

Last Honda for me .... - 2006 Honda Accord
By ddent01 - March 20 - 2:17 pmAfter owning Hondas for the last 30 years I am on my last one. Why you ask? Its the dealers and Honda corporate US. My local dealer service dept has one great service manager and I could do without the remainder of this dept. They continue to increase oil change fees and recently wanted to charge $129 for a transmission fluid change. Went to another dealer and got it done for $49. HONDA CORP if you read the online forums then please note you have lost another customer. I am tired of dealers nickel /diming me to death. $300 for a 30k service and the main thing you do is oil/filter, air filter, cabin filter ?!?!?! Sorry, guess its Toyota from now on.
