This Year's Model Updates:

Following a complete redesign last year, the 2009 Honda Accord carries over unchanged, though the V6's official engine output is up a smidge after further testing revealed slightly more power than previously measured.

Pros:
  • Ample passenger space, high-quality interior, above-average steering feel, high resale value, available coupe body style.
Cons:
  • Intrusive road noise, button-heavy center stack, some find seats uncomfortable.

  • Great Car for the Money - 2009 Honda Accord

Ive had the car now for 2 months and have been very happy with it. Its a great value for the money and looks more like it should have an Acura badge than a Honda. Ive been in an Acura CL Coupe and this car is very similar - maybe even nicer inside.

Park the accord coupe next to an entry level ($40,000) bmw, mercedes, lexus, or infiniti, and it will visually blow them all away, for 10 grand less. I just bought a black with black leather interior. Sharp, comfortable, and stylish. EX-L V-6 without nav. The chrome doorhandles, chrome around side windows and dual chrome exhaust and the wheels shout tasteful class. This car puts a smile on my face every time I look at it.

  • Dont buy 2009 Honda Accord V6 - 2009 Honda Accord

Our 2009 Honda Accord V6 surges up and down hills. The Honda service department says this is NORMAL operation. If you are looking for a car with a nice ride, dont look at the 2009 Honda Accord V6.

  • My Accord Experience - 2009 Honda Accord

The Car has been pretty good so far. Its not bad for a 4 cylinder. The ride is ok. You can tell they cut corners from the previous generation model. Its bigger than I would have liked it to be but I did not like the styling of the civic, and I thought it was a little smaller than I wanted. Overall not a bad car, but not Hondas best in my opinion having experience with 3 Accords before. Also the braks wear out prematurely (my back brakes wore out after 17,700 miles) only owning the car for 10 months. Buyer beware the brakes have a design flaw noted in the currant issue of Motor trend. They got only 15,000 on a set of 4 brakes and were quite shocked when they took it into the dealer.

  • A wise 2-door coupe purchase - 2009 Honda Accord

My 2009 Accord EX-L V6 coupe. I recently purchased the above car in crystal black pearl, with a black interior. In terms of exterior styling I personally believe it is one of Hondas best looking cars to date with its flowing lines, chrome accents, large wheels, and, expressive curves. I find the interior to be very luxurious, visually appealing, and very well put together. The textures and materials of the interior, especially the leather trim and aluminum look accents are of high quality. The power from the 3.5 liter V6 is smooth and strong, complimented by a perfect balance of sporty handling and a comfortable ride, all while being reasonably quiet. I highly recommend this car!

  • Last Accord For A While - 2009 Honda Accord

Sadly, this is our last Accord for a while. We have had all the brake issues described before. Ours was fixed under warranty 5 times and now we are told we are on our own by Honda. The service bulletin everyone is waiting on is not coming. The 10s will be out next month, so 2 years and no fix is just that. No fix. The cycling of the exterior lights is just annoying. Its much worse than Hondas past that only did it when the compressor kicked in and was not that noticeable. And yes we were very disappointed in the seat comfort of the EXL model compared to years past. Traded it for a Venza at 45k, sadly we are done with Honda, the quality and customer service is just not there anymore.

  • Good value, but missing a few things - 2009 Honda Accord

Overall, I am enjoying this 2009 EX-L, with auto. It is very roomy on the inside. I can fit, even with a sunroof, at 64". It drives very smoothly and handles well. Its by no means, too firm. It soaks up bumps very well. As for the seats, contrary to others, I find them to be quite comfortable and very supportive. The headrest does not bother me at all. In fact, it actually raises up high enough to provide a rest for my head. It doesnt protrude too far forward. The 4 cyl is peppy. The V6 has a lot more power, but the 4 is sufficient for my needs. The downsides are that it lacks a trip computer, no shiftable auto, fog lights are an aftermarket extra and no power passenger seat.

  • Damn good car for the price - 2009 Honda Accord

I have thoroughly enjoyed owning this car. Smooth to drive, good in all weather, and just keeps on going. I have experienced a little oil burn issue and do need to change the oil every 4,000 miles. However, other than that I have only had to do regular maintenance. I drive a lot of miles every year and will most likely buy another accord. The only other issue is that at 64", sliding in and out at age 60 might become a problem for me. Love this car, and looking forward to the new Tech upgrades a new car will bring.

  • Very Pleased - 2009 Honda Accord

So far, so good. I purchased my 09 Accord EX V-6 in March of 2009. So far I have put 4000 miles on the car and have been very happy with it. This was the first "car" I have purchased in over 10 years. I have been driving gas guzzling SUVs for the last 11 years, and this car reminded me how fun it is to drive again. It is a visually stunning car and has been turning heads since the day I got it. The interior controls are laid out well, but they definitely took a little getting used to. It handles beautifully and the transmission is very smooth. Im 62 & 205 lbs, and I think the car is very comfortable, the seats are average, but not a reason to pass over this car.

Vehicle drives like a $20k car. The road noise needs improvement. I drove a 97 Volvo 850 for the past 12 years and the Volvo was quieter than the Honda on the highway. I am not sure if different tires would do the trick or maybe a redesigned suspension. I also own a 08 GMC Sierra Crew Cab which has a smoother ride than the Accord; it may be because of the longer suspension but the truck has 20 inch wheel which means less tire to absorb bumps and it still rides better. I purchased the Honda because it gave the most bang for the buck for the size and comfort the vehicle offers. Overall the Honda is nice and stylish, all that needs to be worked on is the road noise and ride.
