This Year's Model Updates:

Honda takes a bold leap for 2005 with the introduction of the Hybrid Accord. Rather than add a hybrid motor to its four-cylinder, Honda bolts its third-generation IMA system to the Accord's already-potent V6. In one fell swoop the Accord hybrid has become the class leader in fuel economy (30 city, 38 highway) and power (255 horsepower). Other changes for the 2005 Honda Accord this year include new wheel cover designs for the LX and EX trims, a new coin pocket design, illuminated steering wheel controls and improved rear styling in sedans with redesigned taillamps. In addition, front-seat side airbags and full-length head curtain airbags are now available on all trim levels all the way down to the base DX model.

  • Quick and Fun - 2005 Honda Accord

The vehicle is sporty for a Honda Coupe as it is matched with the 240 HP and the 6 speed manual along with a modification of the suspension. However, gas mileage is not terribly good, although for long trips in the sixth gear, you can actually get close to the high 20s MPG. Vehicle is fun to drive. I wanted a NAV package with the vehicle but could not find one. Vehicle has potential for a popular sports coupe if it had more HP and torque.

  • a hybrid super car - 2005 Honda Accord

My Honda Accord Hybrid has performed admirably and as expected. On two long trips, one to Florida and another to Oklahoma City, it averaged between 41 and 42 mpg while driving between 60 and 65 mph. In city driving I accelerate moderately with smooth throttle imputs. City mileage has averaged between 24 and 28 mpg. Overall mileage is above 35 mpg. Performance is spectacular for such a fuel-conserving car, especially strong torque at lower speeds. Only problem in the first almost 16,000 miles was a defective left rearview mirrow that was quickly replaced under warranty.

  • Still a love affair - 2005 Honda Accord

Yesterday was our 10 month anniversary of this love affair. At 15,000 km, its converted mileage is about 27 mpg in city commute of 15 km (9 miles) and 40 stoplights. Highway driving, using the Edmunds suggestions in AOL review (no lead foot, auto speed control, etc) and keeping an eye on my "eco" zone signal, we get about 37.5 mpg. My earlier review should have reported we use about 9 litres (city) and 6.5 litres (highway) per 100 km driven. This American in Canada reversed km and litres in earlier report. Figures are from dash indicators for gas useage per tank. Real calculations show 700-800 km per 54 litres (32-36 mpg)in mixed driving. (Approximate only:litres do not quite = quarts)

This is the first car that I own and I must say Im extremely impressed by it. Very nice interior and roomy as well. Fuel economy is nice as well as the steering. Car looks really nice outside and handles well. Very quiet and picks up speed relatively well.

  • Im lovin it! - 2005 Honda Accord

I traded my 2002 honda coupe for the hybrid. I wanted to save on gas. Its too soon to tell but I drove it for nearly 100 miles and didnt use a quarter tank yet. The car is really powerful and I have to keep track of how fast I go. The interior is very nice a spacious. I dont want to get out of my car.

  • Best Midsize - 2005 Honda Accord
    By -

This is my second Accord. First was a 2001 that had no problems (except a sqeaky brake pedal). This 05 has reduced wind noise, a smoother ride, and excellent safety ratings. My gas mileage has also improved. I get 28- 30 of mixed city/highway driving. Interior is excellent. Im not crazy about the exterior styling, but it is growing on me. The added spoiler improves its looks.

  • Love This Car - 2005 Honda Accord

Was trying to decide between the Camry and the Accord. The Accord has so much style; a beautiful car and sporty (if youre not looking for the family thing). Its got a lot more power than expected from the 4 cyl and the handling is really nice. Much more sporty handling than the Camry. The exterior is beautiful, with a luxury look much like the Benz, and the controls are all conveniently placed. I drive it sometimes just for fun.

  • NOT boring - 2005 Honda Accord
    By -

The Accord tends to get slammed in competitors ads for being boring. Believe me, its not. In fact, I was originally drawn to the Mazda6 for the sporty nature of the car, but I was wary of the cars unknown build quality and decided to go with a vehicle I knew would hold up over the long haul. I have not been disappointed. The Accord is surprisingly satisfying to drive - it holds a good line in corners, the gearbox is just a step below that in my old Miata, its quiet, economical, reasonably quick, well-built, and the quality of the interior materials is top-notch. The front seats are exceptionally comfortable, and the power seat makes it easy to find a good driving position.

  • Buy One! - 2005 Honda Accord
    By -

This is my first Honda. I havent been excited about a new car purchase in nearly 20 years, but that has finally changed. Honda really makes a solid car. It handles very well, is quiet, and you get the overwhelming feeling that they really put a lot of effort into the engineering. Very "driver friendly."

  • Higher level thinking. - 2005 Honda Accord
    By -

We like our new Accord a lot, it seems much improved over previous models in overall comfort and looks. I think it looks a lot richer than the old body style did too. Every aspect of this car shows of higher level thinking on Hondas part. I wouldnt hesitate to recomend this car to anyone looking for good fuel milage in a well rounded sedan in the low 20s
