This Year's Model Updates:

Following a complete redesign last year, the 2009 Honda Accord carries over unchanged, though the V6's official engine output is up a smidge after further testing revealed slightly more power than previously measured.

Pros:
  • Ample passenger space, high-quality interior, above-average steering feel, high resale value, available coupe body style.
Cons:
  • Intrusive road noise, button-heavy center stack, some find seats uncomfortable.

  • Delivers on your expectations - 2009 Honda Accord

This is the first Honda I have owned. For the past 6 years I have driven a BMW 3xi series with all wheel drive. I wanted to get a coupe without breaking the bank. I looked at the Honda Accord and Nissan Altima. I decided on the Honda Accord V6 Coupe and am extremely satisfied. The car delivers on all aspects of driving a coupeĀ… styling, handling, performance and fun. It drives great and has a nice interior. I like that it has V6 power when I need it and that the engine adjusts down to 4 or 3 cylinders when the V6 is not needed. It also runs on regular gas which is an added savings. Overall, it has delivered on all my expectations.

  • Fun to Drive - 2009 Honda Accord

Generally the car has been great except for excessive dust that comes into the passenger cabin. I have an 03 lx which is great even after 150k still like new inside. Find excessive road noise for a top of the line model. Better sound proofing would reduce fatigue.

  • Honda Accord V6 w/ Navi - 2009 Honda Accord
    By -

I purchased an Accord V6w/nav; white with beige leather interior and paid $26,700. (This is our fifth Accord). Car rides well; the interior layout is attractive. Seats are comfortable and adjustable; steering column and wheel adjusts fine. The nav. system includes a trip computer that calculates mileage. Averaging 24 MPG combined city and highway. Highway mileage was 28 MPG. Power steering pump broke after 400 miles; dealer said that was extraordinary and replaced it under the warranty. (That explains my low build quality rating.) There is a lot to learn about the car concerning nav system, Bluetooth, voice commands etc. Too much is made about the road noise; the road noise is fine.

  • Could use interior design improvements - 2009 Honda Accord

Drives and handles well. The TPMS (tire pressure monitoring system) light came on the second day I had the car and no matter how I tweak the tire pressure it wont go off (common problem). I assume this may have something to do with side airbags but the sun visors are poorly designed & are not long enough on both the right and left sides leaving gaps for sun glare. The center stereo console is too big & you need pretty long arms to reach the right side buttons comfortably. Its like they just made the buttons bigger and spaced them out to fill up space. The steering wheel has cheap plastic silver pieces in the center that I cannot believe they used. Plastic wheel covers are very cheap.

  • Ok Car - 2009 Honda Accord

The Accord has a very uncomfortable seat. Actually, it is the worst of any in its class for comfort as I have test driven all the cars in the class. The acceleration is top notch. The transmission shifting is smooth. You have excellent visibility and a nice interior layout. The brakes are by far the worst in the class as evidenced by all the reviews, but most people will not notice this (I did). The build quality is very good, however, the paint job as noted by some others is not top notch. This car has hard springs and a rough ride compared to an Altima, Fusion, Camry or Sonata. For those who like a sporty, fun to drive car, this is a nice car.

  • Brake noise - 2009 Honda Accord
    By -

There is considerable road noise, and there is a MAJOR problem with the brake noise (on both my 2008 sedan and 2009 coupe). Honda definitely needs to fix this. Dealership told me basically my driving was crappy and thats why the brakes were squealing. The Honda Accord is an economy car. If you want bells and whistles buy a Lexus, BMW, or Mercedes!

  • Overall an Excellent Vehicle - 2009 Honda Accord
    By -

This is absolutely one of the best cars Ive ever owned. Ride quality, quality of workmanship, handling, performance are all excellent. It is a fun car to drive. I can find nothing negative about this vehicle. The seats are very comfortable. This is an excellent vehicle for the price. Comparatively speaking, I consider it equal to Mercedes, Audis, and BMWs.

  • Nice Car! - 2009 Honda Accord

Ive been driving my Honda for about a month. Ive driven it on the interstate, on country roads and in town and am very pleased with the performance, comfort and fuel efficiency. I was worried about comfort when I read the reviews but I think the seats are fine. I am looking forward to trying out these heated seats. I think the stereo system is great. Im hooked on satellite radio now though so thats going to be an added expense for me. When I was looking for a new car, it came down to this or the Chevy Malibu. The reliability of Honda won me over. Well see if Im still driving this at 100,000+ miles - I hope so.

  • Second owner at 80K - 2009 Honda Accord
    By -

Ive had this car for a couple years now, and it is at 166K (mostly highly) now. This car has treated me greatly, and I would definitely recommend one for anyone looking for a used model. Its a heavy car, but very stable, earlier models of the previous generation felt alot more nibble. If you use a good set of tires, it will make all the difference in the snow. It has its quirks here and there, but overall you seldom have to be under the hood to repair it past basic maintenance. When it comes to parts and repair, these cars are expensive when going through your Honda dealer, but they are so reliable it makes up for the cost.

  • Worst Car Ive Ever Bought - 2009 Honda Accord
    By -

6th car Ive owned, 3rd Honda Accord. After the first day I realized how terrible the front seats are to sit in for more than 10 minutes. I think if youre less than 56" and 120 lbs, youll be alright. The driving noise inside the car is excessively loud. The acceleration is OK for a car of this price, but the traction leaves a lot to be desired. Dear Honda, Look at the 2000 Accord and think, "Wow, we used to make a good car". Thanks, Former Customer
