Overview & Reviews
The Honda Accord -- one of America's favorite vehicles -- has been substantially changed for 2003. Continuing as a sedan and a coupe, the 2003 Honda Accord features more powerful and fuel-efficient engines, increased safety and higher levels of interior comfort. A voice-activated GPS navigation system is optional, and a sporty EX coupe debuts in early 2003.
- Tight build quality, quiet cabin, refined powertrains, comfortable driver seat, outstanding optional navigation system.
- Missing key features, relatively small trunk, mushy handling with V6.

replaced rear brakes - 2003 Honda Accord
By Tom Z. - April 18 - 7:16 pmFun to drive but has corrosion problems. First, the alloy wheels corroded and pitted within six months. My sons Toyota wheels are like new 9 years later. Also, one of the four bolts that hold the air filter housing on was so corroded it broke upon removal as all four were seized. And finally, I had to replace the rear brakes at a cost from the dealer of almost $500. Front brakes are still fine. My wife and I have driven several Mazdas longer and for more miles and have never had the rear brakes so corroded and bound up that replacement was necessary after just 5 years.

Not usual Honda Quality - 2003 Honda Accord
By BC8 - April 16 - 9:43 pmI am a loyal Honda owner. I currently have 3 Hondas and my past 9 vehicles have been Hondas so this is painful for me to write. the 2003 V6 suffers from 1st year engineering and quality problems. At 3 yrs my radio display went dark (a problem area) it was covered under warranty but would have been an expensive fix if it hadnt been. In Jan of 2008 my automatic transmission went out, no warning just went out (big bucks). This past week (April 2008) my oxygen sensor went bad. I have had many Hondas and never had these kind of expensive repairs. It truly is starting to shake my confidence in Honda.

Great Car - 2003 Honda Accord
By ken zimmerman - April 14 - 2:52 pmI was specific in what I wanted in 2003 with the Honda Coupe six cy. manual. I am glad that I did. It has been a truly exceptional car to own - a real joy to drive. Until the 2008 remodel, there was no real reason to consider trading because the 2003 has been essentially the same as the 2007. But the 2008 is a looker.

I cant stay out of it!!!!!!! - 2003 Honda Accord
By DARLING1 - April 8 - 2:00 amI traded in my 97 Accord LX (not a single problem!) out of pure greed after test driving the 2003 EX. The handle was flawless and the features were unbelieveable for the cost. I just purchased the car this week and I have already received so many compliments. I find myself making up reasons to take the long route to and from work! I love it!

Great Car - 2003 Honda Accord
By Beatrice Mantock - April 8 - 2:00 amThe 2003 Honda Accord is much improved from when I test drove the Accord in 2000. This car is well designed and a true joy to drive. The handling is very good and it has good acceleration. The price for what you get is also better than some of the other cars we priced. This car is a real joy.

Love the new Accord - 2003 Honda Accord
By gativ - April 3 - 10:00 amWe recently bought our second Accord within three years. I like our 2000 Accord, but I love the 2003. The car feels and rides like a more expensive car and it seems to always have power in reserve. The seats are comfortable and supportive. The lumbar is a nice improvement and Honda finally caught on by allowing the arm rest to extend. We test drove many cars and some did certain things better than the Accord, but none of them did everything as well as the Accord. And while I was tempted to buy a European car that was roughly $10,000 more than the Accord, I just couldnt justify the extra money.

Fun to Drive - 2003 Honda Accord
By drobert007 - April 3 - 10:00 amThe 6 speed manual flies. Suspension is tight and so is first gear. Prepare to get a speeding ticket after you get behind the wheel. Youll find yourself goning the long way to work just because its so fun to drive.

ENGINE LIGHT - 2003 Honda Accord
By aj3 - April 3 - 10:00 amThe car performs very well. Its entertaining to drive, gets 31.5MPG, and handles better than the tires allow it to. I have only one concern. The check engine light keeps coming on. The dealership and Honda keep telling me they are working on a fix but dont have the solution yet. The dealership has been very honest and up front so I dont feel Im being shuffled away, its just Honda doesnt have a fix yet.The problem centers around the catalitic converter, which the dealer replaced once already, so Honda appearently has an emissions issue making things difficult. Like the car, but better get it fixed or I will require them to replace it.

sequestered car - 2003 Honda Accord
By MACNTX - March 30 - 2:43 pmI have a blue Accord LX 4cyl auto. Excellent brake response and feel. Passing power is confident and ready when cruising on freeway driving. Engine is peppy; as is typical of Accord. I drove this car from TX to VA and the mileage comes to about 33-34 mpg with 4 adult passengers at that. Honda could use a better sound system. With 45K miles I still have the original tires, brake pads and has done a wheel alignment. This is my second Accord, the first one a 92 DX with 193000 miles and still running perfectly. Both were made in Japan with VIN starting with JH...My daughter finally "sequestered" the car from me. She cant stand the fun I am having. Maybe a coupe v6 will be fun huh?
