This Year's Model Updates:

Honda takes a bold leap for 2005 with the introduction of the Hybrid Accord. Rather than add a hybrid motor to its four-cylinder, Honda bolts its third-generation IMA system to the Accord's already-potent V6. In one fell swoop the Accord hybrid has become the class leader in fuel economy (30 city, 38 highway) and power (255 horsepower). Other changes for the 2005 Honda Accord this year include new wheel cover designs for the LX and EX trims, a new coin pocket design, illuminated steering wheel controls and improved rear styling in sedans with redesigned taillamps. In addition, front-seat side airbags and full-length head curtain airbags are now available on all trim levels all the way down to the base DX model.

Pros:
  • Roomy and stylish interior, tight build quality, smooth ride, powerful and efficient hybrid model, good crash test scores.
Cons:
  • Tepid handling, brakes should be more powerful.

  • Great buy - 2005 Honda Accord

I have owned many Hondas over the years. I still can find a vehicle that beats them for the price. Fit and finish inside and out beats all the competition. Switching from a 2000 Trans Am to an Accord, I thought would be a hard change. But I don’t miss the rattles and road sounds I used to get out of the Pontiac. Going from a 305hp engine to a 160hp was not bad at all. The Accord it quick and gets out of its own way. Just a note it is a lot easier to get my two year old in car seat in the Honda. But when I bought the Pontiac I was in a different situation.

I spent a couple months looking for a replacement for my mustang GT convertible. This is definitely the best choice when it comes to looks/comfort/value. I had an impression of Hondas to be plain but this car was surprising luxurious. I test drove the Altima and Maxima SL prior to buying this car. In comparison, the Accord has superior interior (aluminum?/metal panels are beautiful), comparable stereo sound and HP, and are $3000 less. Everything is placed well ergonomically, and the exterior is very sharp. I wasnt looking for XM radio but it has turned out to be one of my fav features of the car.

This car is so comfortable it is hard not to fall asleep in the seats. The mileage is just as good as it was on my 4 cylinder car. I would definately buy another Accord.

  • Great Sedan! - 2005 Honda Accord

Bought the 2005 Honda Accord in Sept. 04 (right after they came out... I think we were the 1st ones to purchase the 05 at the dealership). Went back and forth between the 04 model and the new 05... I dont care much for the new tail lights on the 05, but some of the improvements they made were worth it. Went from a 02 Chevy Tahoe (V8 engine + 4" lift kit - great SUV, but a gas guzzler!).. cut my gas bill in less than half. My commute to work is 65+ miles one way, so it was a no brainer to downsize. The Accord is a super car! Fits our family of 4 (with a car seat) perfectly and I love driving it! Its stylish, powerful, economical and the interior is top notch!

  • Decent car but not impressive - 2005 Honda Accord

Bought the car on December, 2004. The ride was very comfortable. I like the design of the car for a great price. Gas mileage is ok, definitely cannot go up to 26 mi/gal city for a 5-speed manual as advertised. Ive been getting 20 mi/gal in the city for my Accord. The engine is quiet, but the i am not sure if the squeeking noice comes from the dashboard or the windsheild. I am kinda bordered by the noice while I am driving. Handling is ok, but not as good as the previous version. The interior is very roomy. Feel good while I am sitting in it. Overall, the car is ok, but not impressive. But for this price, this is what I am getting I guess. Otherwise, why not go for a lexus.

This car is great. There isnt too much I would change about the car, well maybe more the style of Acura TL. This car is great for the money and now I know why I see more and more Hondas on the road. They are a great car no matter what model or trim level you buy. Only thing I didnt want leather seats

  • Own it, Love it - 2005 Honda Accord

Owned a 2000 Accord and was so pleased with it that I purchased a 2004. I like the exterior design much better and the interior is much nicer as well. Nothing compares to the reliability of the Accord as well as the fit and finish. The car handles very well and the road visibility is superior to all others I test drove. I highly recommend this vehicle if you are looking for a sporty reliable vehicle that is roomy enough to double as the every day family car as well.

  • I LOVE my Honda - 2005 Honda Accord

Ive made three payments on this car and its the first time in my life that I dont mind writing out a check! The UMF suprises me--sometimes it seems like my car just wants to get up and go (lots of power for a 4 cyl.). Its very stylish and it looks like I paid alot for this car but I didnt. I was blessed to pay $19,990 for this car + TTL. Very affordable. Unfortunately some dummy in a 1980 Toyota rear-ended me last month (ouch!) but my bumper did what it was supposed to do and my car is back to the war it looked-- beautiful! I recommend this car to anyone who enjoys driving a sedan.

  • honda hybrid power - 2005 Honda Accord

This car has more performance and mpg than I thought possible. It really gets 37 mpg highway and 29 city and is the most responsive car I have ever driven. However I only have 3000 miles on it so all the complication necessary to get mileage and performance may yet bite me.
