Model Overview:

Few vehicles from overseas manufacturers have garnered as much respect in North America as the Honda Accord. It hasn't achieved this status by being glamorous, sexy or thrilling. Instead, Honda just seems to have its finger on the pulse of what Americans value most. Take an Accord for a spin and you'll find it to be comfortable, roomy, intelligently engineered and easy to drive. It's also backed by strong resale value and a solid reputation for reliability.

You'll find that certain competing sedans and coupes are quicker, more prestigious or simply less expensive than the Accord. What's special about the Honda Accord, though, is its completeness. It scores well across a broader range of categories than practically any family-friendly sedan or coupe on the market. When examined from this holistic standpoint, it's easy to see why the Accord has become an automotive icon and remains one of our editors' top recommendations.

  • Fun to Drive - 2004 Honda Accord

This is my 3rd Accord. It is a 4-Dr V- 6 EX Accord. The 1st was a 1976 2 Dr. This car is fully loaded with the Navi system. The car performs flawlessly around corners. I have 2 problems with this car however. The 1st is that the gas mileage is very poor. Around city I only get about 18 MPG. On the highway about 22 MPG. The other problem is the outside temp gauge. It does not work consistenly. When it is 98 degrees outside the gauge would read 74 degrees for hours. Aside from these 2 complaints, I am very please with the car. Now I have a 1990 & 2004 Accord. The 1990 has over 239,000 miles w/o any major problems. The 2004 should last at least this long with proper maintaince.

  • No probs here - 2008 Honda Accord

I have almost 19,000 miles on my car (got it Apr 2008) and I have had none of the problems mentioned on here. My brakes are fine. I do use the parking brake often as I also heard that it aligns your brakes properly as another poster mentioned. The leather seat is not the most comfortable, but not bad. I drove from Chicago to Cleveland with no stops and I was fine (I am 63"). I got 29+ mpg on that trip, so I dont know what Edmunds is saying that they cant re-create the 29 mpg highway number. I average around 26-27 mpg (mostly highway). Acceleration not the most responsive, but once you drive it for awhile you know how to get it going.

I wrote a review earlier when I first bought it. Now it is 3 months since I owned it. The car gives me 29 mpg in city and 33.5 mpg in highway driving between 70 and 85 MPH. While the fuel efficiency is great, the more important is that the ride is great and the interiors are well done. The car is still very smooth and a joy to ride. I still love washing it and keeping it shiny sparkly.

  • Test drive at night time! - 2008 Honda Accord
    By -

I am really disappointed in my vehicle. The outside is gorgeous, but that isnt what matters. The blinking headlights at night are extremely dangerous. It causes my eyes to get out of focus for a moment and get strained. It happens around every 20 seconds. It brings on my migraines because the lights flash so frequently. Many times people have flashed their brights on me because they think Im flashing mine at them. At first the Gas mileage was very poor but has really improved. The road noise is terrible. The car feels like it is shifting to often and jerks the car in an annoying way off and on. Not worth the money. Really take some time and dont rush into purchasing this car.

I have had this Hybrid for 2 months and still love the car. MPG for city driving is 29 on average and highway is running at 40. I bought this car used to save on gas, very pleased with mileage and performance. Great car!

  • Another transmission - 2002 Honda Accord
    By -

I had to have the transmission replaced at 93k miles I was lucky that I had the extended warranty. The dealership replaced it with one that had 50k on it now 30k later I have to put another transmission in it and replace the ABS modulator and my TCS comes on, on when I am on the hi-way. This is just crazy, I love my Hondas I have had and I am sad to say I will be getting rid of this one soon.

  • So good I completely reconditioned it - 1997 Honda Accord
    By -

This car I gave to my daughter in 2003. After 5 years it looked like it had been driven in a demolition derby but it ran almost perfectly. How much do I think of this car? I completely re-did the exterior and interior, spending $3000. Shell have to earn the right to drive it again. In my opinion this wagon is a true classic!

  • Old Friend - 2000 Honda Accord
    By -

My faithful 2000 Honda Accord LX 4 cyl auto has just hit 211,000 after nine years of ownership when I bought it new. It has never had a failure or unscheduled service of any kind during that time. There really isnt anything more to say. Ill swap it in this year for a new Accord, but Ill miss it.

  • 09 Accord Coupe V6 6 Speed /Navi - 2009 Honda Accord
    By -

After lots of searching and test drives (Acura TL & TSX, and BMW 3), I ordered a 2009 Accord Coupe EX-L V6 6 Speed Manual with Navigation. I wanted the unbelievably gorgeous Belize Blue Pearl and thus the order. Car is everything I expected. The V6 6 Speed combination is a blast. The interior controls are EASY despite the reviews. The car drives and handles almost as well as a BMW 3 series coupe for $20k less. I think it looks better too. I have been stopped in parking lots and asked "who makes that?" & "is that really a Honda?" The Blue pearl paint simply glows.
