This Year's Model Updates:

The Honda Accord -- one of America's favorite vehicles -- has been substantially changed for 2003. Continuing as a sedan and a coupe, the 2003 Honda Accord features more powerful and fuel-efficient engines, increased safety and higher levels of interior comfort. A voice-activated GPS navigation system is optional, and a sporty EX coupe debuts in early 2003.

Pros:
  • Tight build quality, quiet cabin, refined powertrains, comfortable driver seat, outstanding optional navigation system.
Cons:
  • Missing key features, relatively small trunk, mushy handling with V6.

  • No better value, so much car for the $ - 2003 Honda Accord

I test drove the Saab 9.3, Passat, Camry and the Accord. The Accord was simply the best car among the four. I really wanted to like the Passat and the Saab, but quality issues ultimately narrowed the choice to the Camry and the Accord. The Accord was much more fun to drive than the Camry and made it an easy choice. The interior fit and finish is unbelievable and its very thoughtfully designed. The 4 cylinder engine is smooth and powerful, feels like 6. A perfect blend of quality, technology, design and fun! The only improvement would be to add a panoramic rear view mirror to relieve a blindspot when youre in reverse.

After 5 years of ownership car is excellent. Quality car. Fit and finish excellent. This is my 3rd Honda Accord. Great value. Average 18 to 19 mpg. city and 30 to 34 mpg. Highway. 4 cyl with plenty of pick up and go. Thinking of buying a 2008 Civic but I think I will stick with this beauty for a few more years.

The reliability of these cars cant be touched. Why buy American? The last Dodge I owned was a mud motor! I also owned an Oldsmobile, what a joke! Ive had my Honda over 2 years and no problems. Brakes and battery yes, but normal on any car. I also owned a Nissan maxima for over 10 years! Only normal wear and tear. Although I must say Chevy trucks are the best! Fords have horrible trannys! If not for Chevy I would only buy Honda or Nissan. I hope this info will help you when shop around.

I used to have a Honda Prelude and it was an awesome car till someone t-boned me forced to get a new car I went with Honda again. I love my Honda accord it has yet to give me problems and is so fun to drive. I would advise getting the v6 cause it has power I never knew the difference between a 4cyl and 6cyl now I know, and I will never get a 4 again. Great car!

  • VERY surprised and disappointed - 2003 Honda Accord

It started on the day of purchase. I noticed grit under the paint on the hood - more like small pebbles. Reluctantly, the dealer re-painted the hood. Then, the left rear wheel sensor went out. Then - a rattle developed in the trunk area. After multiple visits, still a rattle. It sounds like a mid-70s Chevy hatchback - the rattle is that bad. Each time the daler says - "fixed it." Each time they lied. The rear windows rattle when cracked. The center console rattled for awhile. The drivers window area squeaked for awhile. The steering wheel is off center - meaning when the wheels are in perfect alignment, the steering wheel is not. The black leather is turning white, etc., etc.

We had to replace our 89 Honda Accord LX (196,000)and so we "looked" at other competative models but always came back to the old reliable Accord. The 2003 has more power than our first and it is very quiet. The Hondas really keep their value as we sold our old one (which still looked like new)for $2,000 in less than a week.

I was in a HORRIBLE high speed, head on collision (police & helicopters everywhere!) 4 days ago & was able to get out of my 2003 Accord & walk away. The passengers in the other car (not a Honda) werent as lucky. I will only trust Honda made cars to protect my son & me!!!

  • Brake and navigation failure LEMON - 2003 Honda Accord
    By -

The day after I purchased my 1st new Honda Accord my brakes started grinding and skipping. Multiple repair attempts did not fix problems. The skipping brakes caused me to go into intersections and I was almost killed because of the brake failures. I have been to Honda 6 times and Honda Corporation refuses to help me. I have hired a lawyer to help me and the car is park - since it is unsafe to drive and Honda cant find the brake problem. PS the navigation unit went out so many times, Honda replaced the entire system. The Honda service people were great, but they couldnt fix my car and continue to place me in a life-threatening situation as we
