Overview & Reviews
Few vehicles from overseas manufacturers have garnered as much respect in North America as the Honda Accord. It hasn't achieved this status by being glamorous, sexy or thrilling. Instead, Honda just seems to have its finger on the pulse of what Americans value most. Take an Accord for a spin and you'll find it to be comfortable, roomy, intelligently engineered and easy to drive. It's also backed by strong resale value and a solid reputation for reliability.
You'll find that certain competing sedans and coupes are quicker, more prestigious or simply less expensive than the Accord. What's special about the Honda Accord, though, is its completeness. It scores well across a broader range of categories than practically any family-friendly sedan or coupe on the market. When examined from this holistic standpoint, it's easy to see why the Accord has become an automotive icon and remains one of our editors' top recommendations.

03 HONDA ACCORD - 2004 Honda Accord
By RENA CALL - September 9 - 2:00 amTHIS IS MY SECOND HONDA ACCORD I HAVE PURCHASED IN 4 YEARS. I LOVE THE RELIABILITY IT OFFERS. IT TOOK A COUPLE OF MONTHS TO ADJUST FROM DRIVING THE SEDAN VS. THE COUPE BUT THE EASE OF GETTING A CHILD IN AND OUT OF HIS CARSEAT HAS PAID OFF.

Whered the quality go? - 2004 Honda Accord
By SpunOwT - September 9 - 2:00 amOverall, great car. 2 main issues though. #1. There is way too much body roll #2 Hondas quality is slipping. In the two weeks I have owned this car, I have found a number of mfg. defects, e.g. improperly wired dome and spot lights, rattling noise from the dashboard, rought downshift into first where it actually catches with the cluth all the way in, the plastic screw cover from the truck popped out, the eyeglass holder wont stay locked, for the price of the car the speakers are really poor, the Navi is OK but the UI is a little klugey, the voice activation system is also pretty klugey, and I think thats it.

Terrible Seats - 2004 Honda Accord
By oliver noss - September 8 - 1:23 amWe bought this car, our first and now our last new Honda, with great expectations, and we have been VERY dissapointed with both the car and with the Honda company. This car has the most uncomfortable seats of any vehicle we have ever owned. We cannot ride in it over an hour with severe back, butt and leg fatigue. Its actually painful. Honda is aware of this problem as the Honda district manager disclosed to me, but they arent willing to do anything to remedy the situation for us. What good is a car if you cannot ride in it comfortably for an hour? My advice is to avoid Honda. If you want a quality car, get a Toyota or a Nissan or something else. Buy a Honda at your own peril!

3 Years 36K No Problems - 2005 Honda Accord
By iowahonda - September 7 - 8:47 pmBought our 05 at the end of the model year to get a deal. Were completely happy with it, and have had absolutely no problems. We consistently got 30 mpg city/highway combo, then started getting around 35 mpg once we slowed down on the highway a little. This is a perfect commuter car. Plenty of response and power in traffic. Typical tight Honda feel. No squeaks or rattles ever. This is our 3rd Accord, none ever leaked a drop of oil. Only minor issues are that the seats are a bit firm for long distance driving, the stereo isnt that great, and rear door exit is tight -- have had people hit their heads on the way out.

2003 automatic transimission fails - 2003 Honda Accord
By Jay - September 7 - 8:13 pmWe bought our 2003 Accord used and owned it for 12 months when the transmission failed at 67K miles. $2,700 Ouch! In researching we found that transmission failures in 2003 Accords are quite common. Take a look at the April 2008 Consumer Reports Used-car reliability report and youll see how evident it is that Honda had a problem with these transmissions. Despite the clear evidence of a problem Honda will not stand behind these failures. If you have a 2003 Honda Accord sell, sell, sell while your vehicle value is still high and you havent suffered the cost of a transmission rebuild or replacement.

One enjoyable car! - 1997 Honda Accord
By rageous - September 7 - 10:00 amIve enjoyed every minute of the last five years with my 97 Accord. Its fun to drive and very reliable. Only routine maintenance has been needed in the last 80,000 miles. This is also a very easy car to customize with thousands of available accessories on the market.

Disappointed in gas mileage - 2007 Honda Accord
By kshoshy - September 6 - 11:19 pmI purchased this vehicle because all the reports said Honda and Toyota have the best crash rating and best gas mileage. I am very disappointed. I do all city driving and Im getting between 17 and 19 in the city. The service dept. ran a test for me but, their road test was a combo of city and highway. The test gave me a rating of 20.5. All the reports said I would get 21-23 in the city and 31 on the highway. I got better gas mileage on my 6 cylinder Nissan. In addition to the gas problem the car tires are louder than usual. I had it checked out and apparently thats just how they are. I am an unhappy consumer.
