Overview & Reviews
Few vehicles from overseas manufacturers have garnered as much respect in North America as the Honda Accord. It hasn't achieved this status by being glamorous, sexy or thrilling. Instead, Honda just seems to have its finger on the pulse of what Americans value most. Take an Accord for a spin and you'll find it to be comfortable, roomy, intelligently engineered and easy to drive. It's also backed by strong resale value and a solid reputation for reliability.
You'll find that certain competing sedans and coupes are quicker, more prestigious or simply less expensive than the Accord. What's special about the Honda Accord, though, is its completeness. It scores well across a broader range of categories than practically any family-friendly sedan or coupe on the market. When examined from this holistic standpoint, it's easy to see why the Accord has become an automotive icon and remains one of our editors' top recommendations.

Great car - 1997 Honda Accord
By sara - September 12 - 6:44 amI got my Honda for my 16th birthday. My Dad has bought it brand new, and passed it on to me. Ive put over 100K on it in the past 3 years, and other than needing some minor repairs that you can expect with any 11 year old car with 200,000 miles on it, I havent had any problems with my Honda. Unfortunately, I flipped it last week and its not repairable (at least not for way more than the $3,000 its worth now) - I wish I could afford a new accord, but as a college student I definitely cant. Great car to give a new driver - its sporty, had great mpg, is reliable, and holds up great in a crash - I flipped going 70 on the highway and walked away with nothing more than some bruises. Great car

Not all its cracked up to be. - 1995 Honda Accord
By John - September 11 - 10:15 pmI have had this Accord for a while now, and Im really not that impressed. The trans is really jerky, and Honda says its a "normal condition". My previous mid-size car was a 93 Taurus and it was a lot smoother and felt more powerful. A lot more roomy as well. The fold down rear seats are a good idea but there is limited pass-through room compared with other cars Ive had with this feature (99 Saturn in particular). The CV axles were new when I bought it, and theyre going out again. Minor things quit working on this car long before they did on the Taurus (the Taurus was sold with 300,000 miles, this car has less than 200K), such as the rear defogger, all interior lights, etc.

wagon power, custom LOVE IT - 1991 Honda Accord
By Tabitha - September 10 - 8:13 pmLove my car, totally custom, but a daily driver. I bought it almost 10 years ago w/ 63k on it, only major thing was the distributor replaced. Id say this car costs me $200 annually w/ inspection and oil changes, maybe not even. It now has 168k on it and I know it will start, never left me down. Main relay goes often enough to keep a spare one in my glove box, but $2 at a junk yard who cares! LOVE IT, but wish the a/c would work, I guess this is a faulty design, but hey I can live with it.

91 Honda Accord EX 2Dr - 1991 Honda Accord
By Dave - September 10 - 9:01 amI bought this car as a daily driver for $2000 in 2005. At first I thought I over paid for this car. I changed my mind. At 160,000 miles it still uses less than 1 Qt oil per oil change. It has some minor rust behind the rear wheels. It is fun to drive, gets 35 MPG. and can pass people if need be.

Started out great, rattles now - 2005 Honda Accord
By 4runnering - September 9 - 7:26 pmGreat car when first purchased, but interior rattles and questionable brakes have removed most hope of this being a longterm car. The car was delivered with 5 defects, most which were fixed. Included, bent left rr dr window sill seal, buzzing drivers arm rest, defective drivers door speaker, buzzing sunglass holder and a visible paint flaw in the hood. Two new rattles have shown up since then. The area aft of the sunroof on passengers side(sounds like two pieces of metal) and a popping sound from the A pillar at the dashboard. After 4 visits to the dealer the problem still persists. The brakes on this car do not modulate well when first starting out, almost like an on off switch

Good Car, but why did I buy it? - 2000 Honda Accord
By Matt3 - September 9 - 2:00 amI got the DX model, 135 horses but no A/C, no CD player, no creature comforts of any kind. It only has about 20,000 miles on it so I lucked out in getting a reliable car, but I cant stand knowing that come summer, Ill be sweltering in my new black car. Performance is decent, body style and interior room is great. I like the standard transmission, very driver- friendly car.

ordinary family car - 2000 Honda Accord
By fang - September 9 - 2:00 amThe only thing it stands out is its reliability. You will find the engine has valvetrain noise around 1400rpm (rattle noise). Also the heater and AC is not strong enough comparing with Camery and US models, which will hurt engine gas mileage since you need turn it higher. So far my Accord EX has no problem except: (1) headlight (low beam) was off around 44000 miles. (2) vehicle paint loss (seems the paint layer is thiner compare with my Buick LeSabre)
