Overview & Reviews
Few vehicles from overseas manufacturers have garnered as much respect in North America as the Honda Accord. It hasn't achieved this status by being glamorous, sexy or thrilling. Instead, Honda just seems to have its finger on the pulse of what Americans value most. Take an Accord for a spin and you'll find it to be comfortable, roomy, intelligently engineered and easy to drive. It's also backed by strong resale value and a solid reputation for reliability.
You'll find that certain competing sedans and coupes are quicker, more prestigious or simply less expensive than the Accord. What's special about the Honda Accord, though, is its completeness. It scores well across a broader range of categories than practically any family-friendly sedan or coupe on the market. When examined from this holistic standpoint, it's easy to see why the Accord has become an automotive icon and remains one of our editors' top recommendations.

Great Car - Hi Quality and Reliability - 1994 Honda Accord
By chris205 - October 3 - 2:00 amOverall great reliability. Bought the car new (2nd Accord - kept the first 8 years and sold with 157k miles. I had a std transmisssion and never had to replace the clutch. Front Leather seats had to be replaced after five years. Replaced radiator fan (105k) and a/c fan (125k) but other than that just routine maintenance. Build Quality outstanding. The car had no rattles after nearly nine years. Replaced it with a 2003 Accord EX! Another Great Car!

Standing the test of time - 2005 Honda Accord
By DV8mAn - October 2 - 12:20 pmAfter 125,000 miles, Im still happy. Bulletproof car, great mileage and ride. Feel confident behind the wheel at hwy speeds. Dont want to part with this car until at least 250,000 miles. Only negative is the brakes are too small, so the rotors warp faster than normal. Other than normal maintenance, only issue so far is a dead battery (which could be considered normal).

Aint No BMW - 1999 Honda Accord
By Fudbutter - October 1 - 8:26 pmThis car was delivered new in July 1999. After 9 years and 139,000 miles it has proved to be reliable to get us from point A to point B consistently, but over that time, the cruise control conked out and she leaks oil (About a quart a fill up) despite diligent maintenance. The body has a bit of rust and many nasty door dings. Other than that, no major issues. Brakes and timing belt have already been replaced but tranny has showed no issues. It is used as a the car to get us to the city, airports or anyplace we would be uncomfortable taking our precious roadster. All in all, it hasnt been the "bulletproof" transportation that it was supposed to be, but it has never left us stranded.

Accord V6 is a great ride! - 2016 Honda Accord
By Hector Torres - September 30 - 11:46 pmTest drove Toyota Camry, Accord Sport, Mazada 6 (Standard) was very compelling, and this was the best drive. I like the seats on my old VW Passat a little better, but so fart that is the only little disagreement. I like that it takes regular unleaded, the oil filter is an actual filter, and it is not too hard to get at.

99 Accord LX V6 - 1999 Honda Accord
By Krishna Prasad - September 30 - 4:48 pmI bought my Accord in 99. I have clocked 113K so far. While the car has generally been low maintenance, the transmission had to be replaced at 102K. After reading the comments, looks like transmission has been a problem on 99-03 edition. And now the rack and pinion assembly needs to be replaced. Has anybody faced this problem? Brake rotors and power steering pump were replaced too. I guess after 100K, there is no escaping from frequent maintenance expenses. But the engine and performance is still impressive. I do 60 miles round trip daily and the drive is very comfortable with the V6 notwithstanding the $4 gas. I hope to get it to at least 125K without much expense

By davey5300 - September 29 - 1:44 pmThis was my first and only car that Ive owned, and Ive already made up my mind: Only Hondas! its a 94 Accord ex 4 dr automatic Red. I love it. I have had some problems with it but nothing major. the engine is very strong. It wont die. Ive tried to blow so many times but i cant. & thats a good thing. The only reason Im getting rid of it is to get a 5 speed.

I like it. - 2007 Honda Accord
By seagar - September 29 - 9:46 amTurned in my leased Civic EX for this purchase. I know this is the last year before the newly designed Accord. The car rides solid and smooth. I feel a bit more protected on the open highway than in the Civic. The additional side/curtain airbags add confidence. The 4 cyl. is plenty of power for my world. My Civic was more fun to drive around town, but the Accord feels more secure at 70+ mph speeds.

Better than it looks - 1998 Honda Accord
By Tom - September 29 - 6:09 amPurchased the car with 127,000 miles and now has 142,000 and the only problems were a failed cam sensor ($400) and corroded plug wires ($120). Not bad for its age and mileage. Have heard horror stories about Accord auto transmissions. Mine has been fine but doesnt shift smoothly and sometimes makes a really unnerving clunk. Ive driven similar Accords with manual transmissions and the experience is much more rewarding. Four cylinder models seem to be more reliable than V6s. The six was all-new in 98 and had some kinks to work out, apparently. Both are terminally boring to drive so you might as well save gas and money with the four. A great transportation appliance, but kind of a sedate car
