This Year's Model Updates:

The Honda Accord -- one of America's favorite vehicles -- has been substantially changed for 2003. Continuing as a sedan and a coupe, the 2003 Honda Accord features more powerful and fuel-efficient engines, increased safety and higher levels of interior comfort. A voice-activated GPS navigation system is optional, and a sporty EX coupe debuts in early 2003.

Pros:
  • Tight build quality, quiet cabin, refined powertrains, comfortable driver seat, outstanding optional navigation system.
Cons:
  • Missing key features, relatively small trunk, mushy handling with V6.

After shopping for a half-decent commuter car. I came home with a new 4- cyl Accord-EX Coupe. I test drove the V4 as well as the V6 but didnt see a huge difference for $3- $4k more. I think the V4 is very smooth w/amazing power. The history of good resale value and the fact that I get 34mpg mileage were also determining factors. Ive never owned a honda before. Ive had 2-VW jettas which have been as fun to drive as the new accord, but wanted to get the Honda this time to see what all the fuss was about. If I hate it Ill sell it and get another VW....but I love it and dont think Ill be selling it anytime soon

I bought my car after test driving just about every V6 sport sedan in the market. I wanted/had to have a stick shift. I was just about to buy a 2003 Maxima when I saw the ad for the V6 6- speed Accord Coupe. I fell in love. I had also considered the Acura CL s- type with the 6, but found that the interior felt dated comparatively. And- not too many people had my car when I bought it and that was very enticing. The clutch is very tricky at first, it took me a while to get to know it. But now, I am quite hellish behind the wheel. I also love that the few I have let try to drive it- usually stall. Shes tricky....

My second Accord. Previous was 1990 coupe. The 2003 is more comfortable and quieter with a softer ride but feels less sporty than the 1990. The car feels very safe to drive and is easy to control. The 4cyl 160 hp has a lot of pep from the start but slower to accelerate at hwy speeds, probably due to the computer controlled throttle which Honda claims maximizes your mpg (the 6cyl is still a direct cable), however, I get approx 28 mpg avg with 60/40 hwy/city driving! Overall a very well thought out machine and easy on the environment, another winner!

Extremely fun car to drive. Very responsive, but could use some work in the handling department. Otherwise sharp design especially with the OEM bodykit. Very nice comfortable interior design as well.

I love this car! I originally liked it because the more rounded tail lights; it almost looks like the Mercedes coupe from behind b/c they have the same lights. When I got in my car for the first time to drive it I fell in love with it! The interior is GREAT, and everything looks a little different than the previous models so its a good change. The way it drives is probably what sold me. Its VERY smooth and comfortable; not jerky when the gears change or bouncy. Also, this years seats also seem more comfortable.

  • My Accord Stinks - 2003 Honda Accord

Since buying my Accord in Oct 2002 I have had a terrible sulfur odor. It seems to be worse during the winter. The catalytic converter was replaced at just over 3000 miles. The dealership discounts the odor to California emissions since the car was made there. I had always heard how great Hondas were. I doubt that I would ever buy another Honda. I also have complained about my brakes. The car is going back in for the second time to have the brakes repaired.

I bought this car not to long ago, i am a first time Honda owner and i love this car. This car was well maintained by its last owner, its only had Royal Purple synthetic oil in it changed every 6,000 miles even though its suggested to be changed every 12000 miles. All scheduled maintenance has been done throughout its life time so far. It has 140,000 miles and drives like new. It starts right up, drives perfect. the last owner took unbelievably good care of this car.
