Model Overview:

Few vehicles from overseas manufacturers have garnered as much respect in North America as the Honda Accord. It hasn't achieved this status by being glamorous, sexy or thrilling. Instead, Honda just seems to have its finger on the pulse of what Americans value most. Take an Accord for a spin and you'll find it to be comfortable, roomy, intelligently engineered and easy to drive. It's also backed by strong resale value and a solid reputation for reliability.

You'll find that certain competing sedans and coupes are quicker, more prestigious or simply less expensive than the Accord. What's special about the Honda Accord, though, is its completeness. It scores well across a broader range of categories than practically any family-friendly sedan or coupe on the market. When examined from this holistic standpoint, it's easy to see why the Accord has become an automotive icon and remains one of our editors' top recommendations.

  • Perfect car - 2014 Honda Accord

Purchased a 2014 Accord Sport just about 1yr ago. Have put on 16,000 miles so far. Absolutely love the car. Was very hesitant over the CVT but it actually makes the car. Very smooth and great mpg...always average better then what they say it should. Plenty of power and fun to drive. Great package. Highly recommend.

Ive enjoyed my car, but the transmission had to be replaced at 40,000 miles, 2 of 3 catalytic convertor stages had to be replaced in less than 120,000 miles, and the oxygen sensor twice...now my heat "blend doors" have to be replaced (which entails removing the entire dashboard).

  • Fun to Drive, Expensive to repair - 2004 Honda Accord
    By -

Bought used last year with 225k on body, 151k on newer 2.4L k24A engine. Loved the reliability thusfar and have put on an additional 20k miles since buying. Considering the repairs needed they were needed due to the excessive miles already on the body, ended up going aftermarket due to OEM parts being extremely expensive. Now theres more problems and I just dont want to continue dumping money into it. But considering I live in Upstate NY and knowing the car is over 10 years old, it being 100% rust free is amazing. Switching back to Toyota though. Honda is reliable dont get me wrong. I just love Toyota a tiny bit more for Northeast winters, Rav4.

  • Buying considerations vs competitors - 2014 Honda Accord

Considered Mazda6, Accord, TLX, Camry and Fusion. Ruled out last 2 for styling and reliability reasons respectively. Based on reviews and idea that I want something not everyone else has, Mazda6 was the front runner. Then I test drove all three. If price was somewhat close, I would have likely bought TLX (traded in a TL) but its a new model(no haggling) so price differential was just too much. Really liked the drive of the Mazda as do most people. Then drove the Accord and was actually surprised at how much I liked the drive and feel. It just felt good on the road and quiet. Not saying it drove better than Mazda, but pretty close. In the end, the Honda reliability and "feel" won me over.

  • Great car - avoid it anyway - 2010 Honda Accord
    By -

Bought this car used with 35,000 miles on it the car burned a quart of oil in 1,000 miles consistently. Check engine light came on and the car began running rough on a long trip stopped into a Honda dealership who told us that there was a class action lawsuit over this car, and Honda extended the warranty for this issue to 8 years / unlimited mileage. The piston rings fail and oil enters the engine. This fouls the spark plugs, and the engine fails. Remedy was to rebuild the engine with new rings, gaskets, etc. - four days worth of work. No guarantee that the issue wont recur, so I would avoid this car. This is my second Accord and third Honda / Acura. Disappointing.

  • In the Family since 1991 - 1991 Honda Accord

My grandparents purchased this beast in 1991 fresh off the lot on New Years Eve. After they decided it was time to upgrade, they sold her onto my Aunt, from there my parents bought her for my sister when she turned 16 for $1500 (they only wanted $1000). Once my sister bought her own car the Honda was past on to me. She has 239,000 miles, and was just beautifully repainted (cost was almost as much as she was worth...). She has had a new transmission, A/C, and minor upgrades throughout the six years she has been in the possession of my parents. Great reliability, but gas milage isnt nearly as good as others (Im getting low - mid 20s, but I driver her hard).

  • Smart Buy - 2014 Honda Accord

I was going to buy the Accord coupe but the Sport was so much more car for the price. If Honda offered the Sport in the coupe I would have purchased it instead. The 2.4 engine is one of the best 4 cylinder engine made. Dont think it is too small and under power, its not. I bought this new from a high volume dealer that had the best pricing in the state. For the price nothing comes close. After driving it for 6000 miles I like it more every time I drive it. I picked the CVT over the manual, both have their advantages but I didnt want to shift for the next ten years. The performance reviews for this class, Honda comes out on top. Many reviewers pick the $6000 more Mazda 6 over the Honda.

  • Excellent car in terms of reliability and performance. - 2001 Honda Accord
    By -

I bought my 2001 Accord EX 2.3 Vtec with 176,000 miles and it still runs like it did thirteen years ago. It is my second car, and by all means it is a godsend compared to what I owned before. This car starts up, drives straight as an arrow and shifts without hesitation. And for being as old as it is and spending its life in Ohio and its winters it has hardly any rust on it. The interior is fairly roomy and comfy for what it is. Dont get why some say its stiff on the highway it feels fine to me. As looks go its pretty bland, so dont expect any eye catching around town. Its also a bit pricy, so if you look into getting one make sure its in tip top shape.

  • The 2014 Honda Accord EX-L 4cylinder - 2014 Honda Accord
    By -

I have driven about 1,200 miles on my new Accord prior to writing this review, only time will tell long- term reliability. This is my 3rd Honda and the interior in this trim level is upscale and quieter than previous Hondas. The CVT transmission is responsive and takes a little getting used to. If you live in the snow belt you may want to give the 2015 Subaru Legacy a close look as it to has also been much improved. The Accord handles well , I really like the electric assist power steering, it makes a big difference. The infotainment system on this trim level and higher is a little more complicated than it should be, however the more I use it the better I get at navigating through it.

  • Best value out there - 2014 Honda Accord
    By -

Honda already has an outstanding reputation with its Accord, so I had high expectations when I went to the dealer, I was not disappointed. The car is absolutely stunning to behold, with its beautiful design, and I get compliments all the time. It amazes me that for just over $20k, People think it is around $40k just by its appearance. I also was looking at Mazda and the Honda was much more well mannered and so quiet on the highway. It is like driving a nimble luxury sedan at a great affordable price.
