Overview & Reviews
Few vehicles from overseas manufacturers have garnered as much respect in North America as the Honda Accord. It hasn't achieved this status by being glamorous, sexy or thrilling. Instead, Honda just seems to have its finger on the pulse of what Americans value most. Take an Accord for a spin and you'll find it to be comfortable, roomy, intelligently engineered and easy to drive. It's also backed by strong resale value and a solid reputation for reliability.
You'll find that certain competing sedans and coupes are quicker, more prestigious or simply less expensive than the Accord. What's special about the Honda Accord, though, is its completeness. It scores well across a broader range of categories than practically any family-friendly sedan or coupe on the market. When examined from this holistic standpoint, it's easy to see why the Accord has become an automotive icon and remains one of our editors' top recommendations.

Disappointed - 2005 Honda Accord
By Disappointed - December 27 - 12:20 amMy brand new Honda windows started to rattle every morning in one place, then rattle another place in the evening from the 2 week that I brought it home. I bought the car into the shop to have it repair 4 times, but each time, there was no success, in addition, the dash board started to rattle, then something in my visor started to rattle, and they had to change out the visor and patten down the doors to stop the windows from rattling. In the end, it still rattles and they told me "its the nature of the car". Over all, this is my first and last Honda. I have owned this car for about a year and will most definetly trade it in for another vehicle.

It goes a Lonfg way - 2005 Honda Accord
By Jeff Elwell - December 26 - 8:56 amI travel to Phila on a regular basis. Ive never had the pleasure of traveling to Phila on one tank of gas and having over a eighth of a tank left. Its a very quiet car. Sometimes I must check my tach. to verify that its running. I love the XM radioin it. I never thought I would but it makes those long drives go faster. Speaking of faster, Ive had it up to 120+MPH on more than one occasion. Nothing vibrated or fell off for over 30 seconds at that speed. Even a State troper pulled along side as I was decelerating from one of these high speed events,( I thought I had it), and mouthed a "wow- A hybrid?" along with a please slow down jesture. I did! He let me go . He must have been impressed

First 1,500 mile road trip - 2010 Honda Accord
By tccas - December 26 - 8:43 amMy wife and I took our first trip in the car, 1500 miles. She drives it daily, I dont. Our 6th Accord - weve been fans until now, but this cars head restraints, supposedly safer, project themselves so far forward, its impossible to find a comfortable position for driving or riding in the passenger seat. We eventually placed pillows behind our backs to push our bodies, especially heads, forward enough to tolerate the uncomfortable position the head rest forces you into. If you attempt to rest your back against the back rest, normally, then your head is forced forward into an unnatural and very uncomfortable forward position. Deal killer, but its too late for us.

Disappointed in Honda - 2005 Honda Accord
By drm - December 25 - 6:40 pmOrdinary driving yields mediocre milage, low 20s suburban, upper 20s highway. You must learn to drive this vehicle differently to get better, but still well below EPA sticker, milage. Very slow acceleration, constant use of cruise control, etc. The electric package is so small that it almost never is used. The major economy comes from shutting off 3 cylinders in cruise, but the transition between 3 and 6 cylinders to too sensitive. Even a 2% grade will kick it back to 6 cylinders, and pressing on the accelerator ever so slightly will do the same thing. Having driven a Prius, Im disappointed in Honda. A nice sedan, well made, but the hybrid package is a disappointing misfit.

Transmission Went Out - 2000 Honda Accord
By Dave - December 22 - 8:34 pmI knew that the 2000 Accord had a history of transmission problems but since my car had made it to 108,000 miles, I felt it would make it to 200,000. I loved this car. But last week the transmission did go out. I would still recommend this car since most of them do fine. Fortunately I still got a good trade-in, and got a new 2009 Civic, which I love just as much.

Not as reliable as previous - 2000 Honda Accord
By Mark - December 22 - 5:52 pmI never had many problems when I owned my 1994 Accord EX and unfortunately this one, 2000 Accord EX v6 Coupe, has not been as reliable. It seems there were a few years where Honda models had issues with carbon build-up in the engine and I was an unfortunate victim. $2400 later and still have some minor issues with though nothing serious. Had all but two valves replaced due to carbon build-up burnt and cracked valves. Also just recently I spent another $1500 due to power steering pump and fluid leak in rack and pinion. Merry Christmas to me. These repair items, though costly, are to be expected for the most part although I would have preferred a little better reliability.

Honda review - 1997 Honda Accord
By Thomas73 - December 22 - 10:00 amBy far, this has been the best vehicle I have ever purchased. Fuel economy is great, highway comfort is excellent (I travel quite often), and interior features/amenities are in "the right place...at 117,000 miles, no squeaks or rattles and the engine is still just as smooth and peppy as the day it was purchased, I would definitely recommend a Honda product to my friends. Simple routine maintenance is all any car requires, but this is my 6th car and it is the easiest to maintain, virtually worry-free.

Great Overall - 2005 Honda Accord
By Jeff from S.R - December 22 - 1:43 amA really great car overall. It could use about 25 more horsepower. Its very quick at 240hp, but it would be a beast at 265hp. Good thing we can add on after market intakes and exhusts. I definatly recommend geting the Honda Factory Performance Suspesion. The ride is so much tighter and the slight drop really makes the car look awesome. If you have the extra cash id get the Aero Packeage as well. As a whole the car is an Excellent choice.
