  • Ample passenger space, high-quality interior, above-average steering feel, high resale value, available coupe body style.
Cons:
  • Intrusive road noise, button-heavy center stack, some find seats uncomfortable.

  • Disappointed - 2009 Honda Accord

We just returned from a 2,300 mile trip. We got 30.25 mpg which is what the sticker says. I also have a 2007 Chevrolet Impala with a 3.9L that gets 29.0 plus driving 27 miles each way to work. Not satisfied with the car. Lots of road noise, not a comfortable ride and less than expected gas mileage. I was told I should expect mileage in the mid 30s. Very disappointed after reading all of the Honda hype prior to purchase. Unless something changes, this will be my first and last Honda Accord.

Took my New Accord V6 sedan on its first road trip. Seats were comfortable, unlike some reviews I have read, and the V6 delivered the pep that you wont find in a smaller engine. 300 mile round trip and temperature was in the mid 90s and it delivered 23.9 mpg with the air on and mountain driving. It has all the bells and whistles, Navi system that will take getting use to and XM radio which I have never had. Only complaint is an occasional sqeak when brakes are applied. Used the "cash for clunkers" deal so -$3500, Figured the car I traded a 1988 Jeep Pioneer with 168k was worth maybe $1000 so the rest was the sales tax. This is my first Honda and so far am very pleased.

  • Great car so far - 2009 Honda Accord

I have had this car for over a month and have 1500 miles on it. I have nothing but good things to say. At first I had to get used to the automatic transmission because of the Eco mode. You can feel the car downshift and at first its uncomfortable because youre not used to it. Now I dont even notice it. This car is powerful and I have a lot of fun driving it. I actually look forward to my 30 mile commute each day. A lot of people complain about the seats. I think the leather is fine and have driven on a road trip (200 miles) with no problems. The car is beautiful inside and out and I get a lot of compliments on it. It really does look like a Lexus or BMW with all the chrome. I have black on black.

  • Got rid of my Accord - 2009 Honda Accord

I had my Accord for 13 months total, put over 20k miles on it. I could not stand the uncomfortable seats any longer. The headrests bothered me because they would push my head forward no matter which height they were at and the seats were rather hard and the lumbar support did not provide much satisfaction. Honda Customer Service told me that they cannot do anything for me at this time as the seats and headrest are designed to safety regulations and if they have a recall, they would let me know. Last week, I traded it in for a well equipped 2009 S80, which stickered for $42k and I bought it for $32k. The seats are much more comfortable and I no longer have back pain when driving.

  • Low Milage, Large Turning Radius, Costs - 2009 Honda Accord

Paid $19,995 for LXP package plus taxes no destination. Has door security, alloy wheels, CD/am/fm, no gps, no sunroof. Friends are getting 24mpg I avg about 20. I have never before driven a car where the mileage is lower than the advertised MPG. The unlock button sometimes needs repeated hits to work, good thing the drivers door still has a key. I think the code reset on the remote sometimes doesnt connect correctly.

  • First Month, so far so good - 2009 Honda Accord

Ill try to be as critical as I can to give a good opinion. The problems other posters have mentioned, are definitely there though. First, the uncomfortable seats. Yes, I see what everyone means. I did end up buying a $12 seat cushion from Walmart that has made a difference. Seats arent the best for long drives. Second, the "ECO" function, with switching from 6 to 4 cylinders is a little annoying as well. You have to learn how to optimize the accelerator pedal to minimize this. Navigation not as good as Lexus RX350, but Im still learning it. Voice recognition not all that. Otherwise, I like the car, the look. Its not a sports car, but Im pretty happy with it.

  • Overall a Great Car - 2009 Honda Accord
    By -

Very good power, great gas mileage, and typical high quality Honda Ive heard so much about. The only major downside to the car is the above average amount of road noise that you hear on the highway. Around town road noise is not an issue. This is our first Honda and will probably not be our last. This Accord is equal or better in some areas than our Lexus ES which we love and was almost $10k less. I now understand why Honda sells so many Accords. I find it far better than the Malibu, Fusion, Passat, and Altima all of which Ive had for long-term rentals for business. I cant say enough about how great the dealer service is.

  • Happy with my purchase - 2009 Honda Accord

Initially wanted to buy a VW, looked around for one, sent a few e-mails to dealers and got no responses. NONE! I have had a number or far less than great experiences with VW dealers so I decided to look around. Boy, am I ever glad I did! This Honda is awesome, drives great, awesome for the money. If you dont get into this deal expecting a BMW for 20-30k, then youre going to get a fantastic car with great resale value.

  • BAD CAR!!! BAD BRAKES!!! - 2009 Honda Accord
    By -

I ABSOLUTELY HATE THAT I EVER PURCHASED THIS CAR!!!!!!!!!! HORRIBLE!!! I had brake issues after 5 months. The back brakes needed to be replaced, which is uncommon. Then I had more brake issues on the front two months after that. They dealership checked my brakes and told me that everything was ok, but theyre replacing my driveshaft and axles which absolutely makes no since. I will never by another Honda!!!!

  • The front seats ruin a fine car - 2009 Honda Accord
    By -

The front seats are simply the most uncomfortable Ive ever experienced. The lumbar plates that are part of the active head restraints are the primary culprit but even with them removed the seats are still awful. Im seriously considering trading this in after 5 months and 4,000 miles. Beyond this, its a fairly solid car. But the fuel economy is disappointing. Im only averaging 22-23 MPG with about 70% highway driving. At any rate, no matter how good the rest of the car is, you cant wait to get out of it at the end of every trip longer then 15 minutes, so what good is it.
