This Year's Model Updates:

The Honda Accord -- one of America's favorite vehicles -- has been substantially changed for 2003. Continuing as a sedan and a coupe, the 2003 Honda Accord features more powerful and fuel-efficient engines, increased safety and higher levels of interior comfort. A voice-activated GPS navigation system is optional, and a sporty EX coupe debuts in early 2003.

Pros:
  • Tight build quality, quiet cabin, refined powertrains, comfortable driver seat, outstanding optional navigation system.
Cons:
  • Missing key features, relatively small trunk, mushy handling with V6.

This is our 2nd Accord (we bought one in May 2003). The Accord has many standard features that are extra on Camry. Didnt consider the Maxima because of the premium fuel requirement. Didnt consider the Altima because of reviews of the "noisy" 4 cyclinder engine. The Altima V6 is the same as the Maxima V6, so it would requre premium gas so the Altima was out of the question. Toyota has ABS as extra?!?! You must be kidding. Interior design of Accord is much better than the Camry.

I LOVE THIS VEHICULE, but put more features to it and you will see the improvement on the sales. For a better Accord: Standard Fog Lights Day Lights, Standard V6 or more HP and TQ on the 4 Cyl; Make a V Spec engine if is not patented by Nissan, Entry System with Auto StartA Better Warranty....3yrs or 36,000 miles is not good enough for the quality of this car...Remember if you are sure of the Quality of this vehicule you should make a better Warranty on it.

After 13 years and two Civics, I finally moved up to the luxurious Honda Accord Coupe, EX-V6 Graphite Pearl. What an excellent value for all that you get in this package. This is truly a quality crafted automobile.

I got a great deal on an LX Accord. I had a 97 EX and fell in love with that car. This one is even better in build quality, in comfort, in interior design, and in handling. More horsepower with 4cylinger a plus. I have almost 3,000 miles and have noticed noise from the drivers window.

I enjoy driving more than ever with this car! It has such a hot exterior look and the interior desigh tops it off. This car is a mixture of all the hott cars out there today, but has such an orginal look to it. I am so satisfied with my car, i 100% recommend it.

This was my 3rd Honda Accord over the last 20 years. It has been a great vehicle since we purchased it new in 2003. The gas mileage has been excellent - consistent 24 MPG in city commuter driving. We have averaged 33 MPG on trips.

This is my first venture into the Honda products and I made a good choice. I really enjoy the performance of this vehicle and the ride is great. I probably dont have enough miles yet (1600) to evaluate the economy. My two biggest disappointments are (1) The adjustable/telescopic steering wheel doesnt leave enough room to get ones legs through---and I am only 59"; and (2) I am disappointed that the door locks do not automatically lock when engaging the transmission and unlock when shifting to Park. Other than those two things, I cannot find anything else to complain about.

  • 2003 automatic transimission fails - 2003 Honda Accord
    By -

We bought our 2003 Accord used and owned it for 12 months when the transmission failed at 67K miles. $2,700 Ouch! In researching we found that transmission failures in 2003 Accords are quite common. Take a look at the April 2008 Consumer Reports Used-car reliability report and youll see how evident it is that Honda had a problem with these transmissions. Despite the clear evidence of a problem Honda will not stand behind these failures. If you have a 2003 Honda Accord sell, sell, sell while your vehicle value is still high and you havent suffered the cost of a transmission rebuild or replacement.

Purchased my Honda in December of 2002. My family has had six Hondas, and they have all been good reliable vehicles. I probably will wont live long enough to wear it out
