I bought this car new in 93 the cruz- contol shorted out and caught the car on fire 9-15-02, it had 280,000 + miles and never gave me 1 problem until its sucide, well the fireman helped as they had to chop the hood off to fight the fire, their dmg is what totaled it..reg oil chg & svc will keep a honda going, I saw a prelude with 850,000 miles on it. I am very sad for my loss.

I bought this vehicle brand new and I havent had any major problems. It drive about 85-90% as good as it did when I purchased it. I also give credit to an excellent mechanic who has been very conscientious about the care of my Honda.

  • Car shuts off randomly while driving.... - 1993 Honda Accord

I got this Honda from a Honda dealer and friend who sold it to me with no problems, it passed inspection and everything else with flying colors. I should also mention the engine had only 113,000 miles on it when I got it, this is considered "just breaking it in" for a Honda. I had the belts replaced, regular oil changes and tune-ups, this car was looked after, but keep reading...it all started when the car began to have a hard time maintaining a charge after it was started up, so we got it a new Battery, fine for a while...then, it shut off on the highway twice, Im glad I walked away from both. In addition to the stalling, it had problems in the winter too, but it gets worse....

great dependable fun fuel efficent car.lasts 200,000 plus miles if you do your maintenance on time and keep it done thrughout the life of the car.also dont modify engine for this 200,000 plus mile to happen.most ones i checked at salvage yard had closer to 300,000 miles.this is a good way to do your on evaulation of dependibility.

  • I expected much better - 1993 Honda Accord

I bought this car because of its reputation. I was let down. 75k miles when I got it and the ABS pump was shot. $1300 to replace, no thanks. The counter balance shaft belt broke and now it shakes like crazy at idle. Trans vibrates bad between 35 and 50 mph like its trying to shift but cant. Oil leaking at every possible place. Both interior door hanldes broke. CV joints on both sides went this year. The factory radio was the worst thing Ive ever heard. Now, the engine is very strong and burns no oil. The seats are very comfortable. Everything works inside. The style is the best. Still a great looking car.

It doesnt seem to want to wear out. It maintains its good looks inside and out. Its one of the prettiest Hondas ever made. The mechanics are second to none.

  • Good ol Honda - 1993 Honda Accord

I bought my Honda used 5 years ago and it still runs great! I have 133,000 miles on it and last year when I got it smogged, the guy said it smogged like a new car. Change that oil every 3,500 and this car will last forever. Just be careful that when you change the timing belt, have those little cheap oil pan seals replaced at the same time or youll be sorry. Great car.

  • My - 1993 Honda Accord

I bought my Accord with 19,000 miles on it a year and a half old. Since then Ive put on 157,000 over nine years of trouble free ownership. Nothing has needed replacement on this vehicle other than normal wear and tear (muffler, brake pads). Biggest tips: Mobile 1 synthetic evern 4k, and cross drilled front rotors. For some reason the rotors extend the life of the pads while giving the predicted benefit of enhanced stopping power.

  • Reliable Car - 1993 Honda Accord

Ive had my "top of the line" Honda (Accord SE) for about half year. I purchased it with 125K and its been allright. I had to replace front suspention springs and struts, but other than that, its very reliable car. I also enjoy the gas mileage on the highways. Its significantly worse in town though! Id recomend the Accord to all of you who want relatively cheap but reliable car that will last :-)
