Model Overview:

Few vehicles from overseas manufacturers have garnered as much respect in North America as the Honda Accord. It hasn't achieved this status by being glamorous, sexy or thrilling. Instead, Honda just seems to have its finger on the pulse of what Americans value most. Take an Accord for a spin and you'll find it to be comfortable, roomy, intelligently engineered and easy to drive. It's also backed by strong resale value and a solid reputation for reliability.

You'll find that certain competing sedans and coupes are quicker, more prestigious or simply less expensive than the Accord. What's special about the Honda Accord, though, is its completeness. It scores well across a broader range of categories than practically any family-friendly sedan or coupe on the market. When examined from this holistic standpoint, it's easy to see why the Accord has become an automotive icon and remains one of our editors' top recommendations.

  • Reliability.... - 2004 Honda Accord

This is my 2nd Accord that I have purchased. My first was a 94 Accord, I put 275 thousand miles within 8-10 years. So I figured that Hondas must really be some good cars, b/c I had NO PROBLEMS at all out of it, I just got rid of it due to high mileage. So I traded it in and got an 04 Accord Coupe, ex V6, got around 53,000 miles, and so far, my moonroof has had to be replaced, brakes went out, and so did my transmission, while in traffic, as soon as I picked it up from the Honda dealer, realized that my motor mounts was bad and they had to get replaced as well. Just hate that everyone in my family drives Hondas and this particular one that I have has caused me soo much trouble.

This is my third Honda and the best so far. They just keep getting better and better. A little pricer that before, but I guess everything is. Quality is top of the line.

  • Almost Great - 2006 Honda Accord

The special edition Honda Accord(5 speed, 4 cyl) is a great value. The 5 speed manual transmission shifts smoothly and gracefully. It seems that Honda could improve on the mileage if it would increase the final drive ratio on the 5th gear (runs about 2800 rpm at 65 mph). The air conditioning unit is great, but it has a noticeable drag on the acceleration and the gas mileage (-2 mpg when active). Overall we get about 29 mpg with our driving mix. The best highway mileage has been 35 mpg and the worst city mileage about 25 mpg. The SE version comes with the carbon fiber interior and cloth standard (we upgraded to the dealer installed leather and it is great).

  • It keeps going - 1990 Honda Accord

Bought this car as a student in Waterloo, Canada with 250,000 kilometres. Added 50k in 3 years. Its my second car after a 1979 Renault that I owned back home in Europe. Engine, transmission are still great. The engine does not burn oil. A small leak was cured by using Honda oil. Transmission runs smoothly after drain and refill and changing the PCV valve. I had several issues: cv joints and leaking radiator. Gas mileage drops to below 20mpg in cold ontario winters. Close to 30 mpg in summer. Rust around rear wells is not a killer if you rust proof once a year.

  • 4get the Hybrids! Dont give up size!! - 2006 Honda Accord

I bought a manual shift 4 cylinder to save gas mileage and to better maintain control of the car... to have fun driving! I have done as well as 39 mpg highway driving, a little better than my 94 Accord stick shift. I use cruise more than the average person. Youre going to get fewer mpg when you use gas with ethanol added. With the stick, you dont need 6 cylinders. Couldnt believe I actually looked at and drove others before I got another Accord. Even owned a used Camry for 2 yrs (automatic), but it doesnt have the same drivability as an Accord.

  • Questioned Reliability - 2003 Honda Accord

Bought this car new. The 8th Honda product in my family... 3 Acuras. Auto transmission failed at 76,000 miles. All scheduled maintenance has been performed. Car was out of warranty so took it to local transmission repair shop. Cost $2,200 for overhaul. Faulty torque converter was cause. My next car will be a Camry.

  • Sorry I bought this car - 2006 Honda Accord

Engine is great, handling not too bad. However, the clutch engages so high off the floor, it makes smooth shifting very difficult. This was not a problem with my S-2000. Clutch evidently cannot be adjusted. I wont have this car very long. I found out now ( way too late ) that this ia a known Honda problem for many years. Thats inexcusable. This is my last Honda.

  • Unsure if Ill go Honda Again? - 2017 Honda Accord
    By -

Im a huge Honda fan, having owned several over the years. I could hardly wait until the 2017 Accord was released. How disappointed! My turn signals are out of sync: I turn the right on and the left stays on for 4 secs. The AM station plays FM and vice versa. On cold days, the radio wont come on until I turn the car off and restart once the engine gets warm. I live in CT so it can take a while. Now the wont start at alI and I hold my breath. I detest the start button in lieu of a key....horrible. Ive never been able to warm the car up on cold days either. It starts but its ice cold, although I keep everything blasting the night before. Also, I spend half my ride adjustingri the temp controls, as its never comfortable. Sorry, Honda:(

  • Daves New Honda - 2016 Honda Accord

I have been leasing Honda cars for over 15 years. By far this the BEST Honda Accord. I cannot think of anything negative to say. Once you test drive it, you will drive it home for sure. Thanks Honda for a great car.

  • Powerful and comfy - 2010 Honda Accord
    By -

I have 2000 miles now, and loving it. The V6 gives effortless acceleration, and very silky smooth sounding. The ride is very comfortable and bumps are well suppressed. However, the road noise is pronounced, but still not bad. The Accord handles better than the Camry. The Coupe styling is much better than the sedans.
