Model Overview:

Few vehicles from overseas manufacturers have garnered as much respect in North America as the Honda Accord. It hasn't achieved this status by being glamorous, sexy or thrilling. Instead, Honda just seems to have its finger on the pulse of what Americans value most. Take an Accord for a spin and you'll find it to be comfortable, roomy, intelligently engineered and easy to drive. It's also backed by strong resale value and a solid reputation for reliability.

You'll find that certain competing sedans and coupes are quicker, more prestigious or simply less expensive than the Accord. What's special about the Honda Accord, though, is its completeness. It scores well across a broader range of categories than practically any family-friendly sedan or coupe on the market. When examined from this holistic standpoint, it's easy to see why the Accord has become an automotive icon and remains one of our editors' top recommendations.

Purchased 2004 Honda Accord Ex-V6 new due to internet reviews. 1st Honda ever purchased. Worst car I have ever owned for road noise. Dealer worked road noise problem, but unable to correct road noise problem. 40,000 miles on car, started hearing pecking/knocking noise in engine. Honda dealer informed me that noise was #6 piston? Honda dealer explanation of piston noise was engine block might have out of tolerance machining during manufacturing and would cost $1300.00 for an inspection to verify. A 2nd independent certified mechanic opinion confirmed engine noise as #6 piston & not uncommon in Hondas. Not pleased with Honda quality or Honda customer support. First & last Honda I will own!

This is my second review. I now have 31k miles on my Accord. This has been an outstanding value for me. I do about 20K business miles per year in the Accord. If I am not in a rush, I try to cruise at 65 MPH on the highway and when I do, I get about 32 mpg. The car has been totally without problems so far. All Ive done for maintenance is oil changes. Third gear is a minor irritation, as it will pop out of gear when the car is cold and Im not careful with the shift action. The engine is a work of art, with a high redline and plenty of torque! I added an iPod connection and fog lights to the original package. TL sway bars and auto dimming mirror are next. Great car!

  • Excellent Car, Great Value - 2003 Honda Accord

Bought new and has been a great value and still fun to drive. Efficient yet powerful enough to daily commute. Ive tracked every tank of gas for this car... averages 33 MPG with a 5 speed manual transmission. Replaced front brakes and original tires at about 72,000 miles. Still original rear brakes. Only two problems - catalytic converter and O2 sensor. No other problems. Overall, a great driving experience.

I bought this car to get better gas mileage, I traded in my Jeep Grand Cherokee. This is my first car and I am impressed. It had everything I wanted at a really good price. I would reccomend this car to anyone.

Bought my first Honda last week after looking at Ford Expeditions for months. Went to dealership just to drive one for the heck of it and fell in love with the 2003 EX with Leather (V-6). I wanted top of the line and I believe I have found it. Honda believes in its product and now I see why. I have been busy accesorizing with gold trim, tinted windows, etc, but it is an awesome car. I was just blown away by the difference in the 2002 to the 2003. Not the same car.

It is a great car for the money and is really the only car that makes Toyota improve the Camry year after year.

  • Nice ride - 2003 Honda Accord

Bought my used accord in 07 w/ 58,000. This car looks nice, rides nice, but w a 13.5 gal tank my trip is only reading 320 miles til empty. Whats that about 25mpg- (city/highway) I am little disappointed in the gas mileage, I got better in my 97 Saturn (28mpg). but over all I would buy another Honda because its been two years and no problems, nada!!!

  • Disappointed - Will not buy another - 2008 Honda Accord

Have been reading these reviews and I have same issue with dimming headlights. One dealer suggested it may be the power management system in these cars reducing alternator load to save fuel. Acts like engine cooling fan cycling, but also occurs at speed, below 20 deg. F with A/C off. Car has occasional no-start problem, like not getting fuel. Dealer checked and "unable to duplicate". Leased this car to get away from problems with an older car. Now issues are arising with the new one and no solutions. Very frustrating! Most disturbing is the large number of folks citing bad customer service. What happened Honda?!

  • ITS A GOOD CAR, BUT NOT A GREAT CAR - 2002 Honda Accord

Excellent gas mileage, decent sound system, relatively comfortable interior.A bit noisy on the interstate.OUR DARK BLUE PAINT HAS A NUMBER OF DEFECTS OR MISSES. Buy silver. One week out of the showroom, replaced powersteering pump. At 4000 miles winshield scarred by faulty wipers, no recourse at agency, 13000 miles, engine tappets chattering loudly.
