Model Overview:

Few vehicles from overseas manufacturers have garnered as much respect in North America as the Honda Accord. It hasn't achieved this status by being glamorous, sexy or thrilling. Instead, Honda just seems to have its finger on the pulse of what Americans value most. Take an Accord for a spin and you'll find it to be comfortable, roomy, intelligently engineered and easy to drive. It's also backed by strong resale value and a solid reputation for reliability.

You'll find that certain competing sedans and coupes are quicker, more prestigious or simply less expensive than the Accord. What's special about the Honda Accord, though, is its completeness. It scores well across a broader range of categories than practically any family-friendly sedan or coupe on the market. When examined from this holistic standpoint, it's easy to see why the Accord has become an automotive icon and remains one of our editors' top recommendations.

  • Best Coupe for the money!! - 2002 Honda Accord

Believe me, I shopped. I test drove everything from new Nissan Altima 2.5 and 3.5, Toyota Solara, VW Passat, to Acura CL 3.2 TypeS, and new Infinit G35. I even considered trucks and SUVs like Tacoma, Xterra, Frontier Crew Cab, to Lexus RX300. In the end, I still come to decide on the EX V6 Coupe and I cant be happier with my decision. The closest second runner was the Altima 3.5 which I like the smooth acceleration, but once you add up all the options you are looking at $3000 or more, plus 1st year "novelty tax". At $23,500 you have the best of all worlds: loaded safty features, luxury, style, performance and the most of all, Honda reputation and high resale value on this car.

This is my second Accord (had a 92 Accord LX sedan w/ over 120k miles & have had no problems with it). It is amazing how Honda can improve on a car that is already great & very reliable. Improvements in technology (VTEC engine, safety, etc.), styling, & ergonomics are some of the things that I like about this car. What a joy it is to drive this car...it makes me realize how smart I am when I bought it.

  • Solid vehicle - 2005 Honda Accord

I bought my Accord new and am still enjoying it. The car has aged gracefully and still looks great with zero mechanical problems. Powerwise, the 240 hp V6 is smooth and strong. Fuel economy is a little disappointing at 19 mpg city, but at least it uses regular. I like the ride just fine, but the handling is a little tepid. I think the biggest problem is the terrible stock tires that are hard as a rock and downright dangerous in the rain. The seats are not the greatest, but not terrible interior materials are first rate. The 5 spd automatic is superb-- best I have driven. Resale value is phenomenal.

I bought a new 2009 Honda Accord in Omaha NE. Gave it to my daughter for her birthday and She took it to college in San Antonio. The seat will not lock in 2 oclock position well and sometimes just drops back while driving; and the brakes squeal, all before 2,000 miles. She took to Gunn Honda in San Antonio and they said the brake noise was from vibration (duh) and wouldnt fix it. The seat wouldnt misbehave at that time. I dont blame the original dealer. Honda Customer Service was not helpful and tried to tell me the seat dropping back was a feature. My initial impression is that the car is of poor quality and that Honda will not fix it. All this in under 2,000 miles.

  • Give Me A Brake - 2004 Honda Accord

Loved the car until they told me my driving habits attributed to the rear brake pads needing replacing after 15k. Additionally, front rotors turned due to pulsation. Ive had several cars that I drive the same, so why are my habits or city driving an issue when it comes to replacing pads already. I think thats a product fault or defect. My odyssey or corolla didnt suffer from my bad driving.

  • 55,000 mile review - 2003 Honda Accord

The V6 has plenty of power and is fun to drive. There is problem with the transmission slipping that the dealers dont seem to be able to figure out. I have had the exterior window trim replaced 4 times since new and it needs to be done again. There are lot of interior squeaks that seem to be getting worse. The quality in finish work seems to be lacking. The metal and paint is very thin and chips/dings easy.

  • not what I expected - 2008 Honda Accord

After six months and 8500 miles this is my impression. Yes, the Accord looks nice and has been reliable. Has lots of features, is comfortable, everything works. The downside: Although the engine is quiet, there are quite noticeable surges from the transmission even with cruise control on. The surges are very noticeable also in heavy stop and go traffic. My old Buicks had far smoother shifts at far higher mileage. Bumpy roads have too much of an effect on the steering and braking. I am surprised they would design the exterior so that rain always comes in the windows unless they are completely shut. Sometimes I need to activate the remote more than once to open the doors.

  • Solid Sedan - 2004 Honda Accord

I have owned it for 2 years. It is 5 years old now. The leather on the driver seat has a small crack, and in a door, there is a ringing noise from a loose screw. Other than that, Im impressed, I have had to veer out of trouble once and it handled superbly. Mileage is great, it is maintenance friendly. The cockpit is set up well and stylish, which will add to its longevity. The lumbar support is great. Leather is the way to go for ease of cleaning. The rims are stylish, and easy to clean without being flashy. The stereo is great with the 6 disc changer. For this particular year, I think the Accord beats out most of its competitors. Camry I think is good too, just preference.

  • A fun car to drive - 2010 Honda Accord

this is a great car. I have owned Hondas in the past and this has to be the best one. My only gripe is the lack of horsepower from the basic 4 cyl..but on the other hand I went from a truck getting 15 mpg to this car getting 23 mpg..so not complaining. the ride is great and very comfortable. Love the features this car has for a base model. Steering is light and cornering is fantastic. the back seat is large. My son who is over 6 ft was very comfortable and had plenty of knee/leg room. Everything within reach behind the wheel. the radio controls are different.
