This Year's Model Updates:

Following a complete redesign last year, the 2009 Honda Accord carries over unchanged, though the V6's official engine output is up a smidge after further testing revealed slightly more power than previously measured.

Pros:
  • Ample passenger space, high-quality interior, above-average steering feel, high resale value, available coupe body style.
Cons:
  • Intrusive road noise, button-heavy center stack, some find seats uncomfortable.

  • THE best car ever... - 2009 Honda Accord
    By -

I have had 6 Mercedes and 6 Hondas, this is the best of all. Firm, comfortable seating and great economy, 24.8 to 29.4 mpg during the 13,500 miles I have put on the car in 5 months. Cylinder deactivation is flawless. There have been no maint. or repair issues at all. A perfect car! Very spacious vehicle for pax and cargo. Memo to Honda... integrate grab handles into the A-pillars, use a manumatic trans, a fuel mileage readout would be nice in this class of car,a sixth gear or lower ratio for fifth gear for better highway mileage, and memory seats would be nice. This is a great and almost perfect vehicle. Buy and enjoy.

  • Best Full-Size Car - 2009 Honda Accord

I bought my wife a 2009, Accord, EX-L, nav, with every option. We love the car. The car has Lexus and Infiniti styling at a fraction of the cost. More room than the M-series, and better mileage. This is our fourth Accord, and is our first leather Accord. The back seat room is incredibly large, and our sons are 62" and 64". Their legs dont touch the front seat. This is the best Accord that Honda has ever made. If I had the money, I would get two of them. Dont worry about the road noise. This car is pure quality.

  • Practical and Cute - 2009 Honda Accord

After researching I was in love with the Accord Coupe design. I bought one. Belize Blue. Its cute and practical (I can drive a week on one tank of gas). This is a car for someone who doesnt want to buy premium gas or pay high insurance rates while still looking stylish and "with it".

  • Brakes? - 2009 Honda Accord
    By -

This my second Honda Accord and so far I love the car but hate the brakes. After one day and 75 miles the steering wheel developed a very bad shudder when braking! I called the service manager and he said to drive the car at least 1000 miles before I bring it in? I am now at 950 miles with an appointment for next week. The steering wheel shudder is still present on moderate and above braking. I hope they can fix this!

  • Coming back to Honda - 2009 Honda Accord
    By -

After 17 years, I am coming back to Honda. Had a 1983 Accord for 7 years and was superb. I think that the car is great, but road noise is very disturbing, considering the prestige and class of this car. Fuel economy is great, compared to the gas guzzler Kia Amanti V6 just traded in. Do not have the opportunity to hear the XM Radio, because the satellite signal cant reach Puerto Rico, but the outside antenna gives class to the car. At the beginning had problems with the seat, but got used to them.

  • Bad Brakes - 2009 Honda Accord
    By -

I loved my Accord until at about 250 miles the brakes began to squeal. I took the car in and the dealer said there is nothing wrong. It is now at about a year later the brakes still squeal and the dealer is telling me I need new brakes. The stability control system causes extreme brake wear is what the dealer is telling me. Honda refuses to do anything about this. I am a long time Honda driver but I will not buy another, my last Accord lasted 45K miles before new rear brakes were needed. Nice car, bad brakes bad VSC system.

  • Very good purchase! - 2009 Honda Accord

Needed to replace a 2007 Honda Accord Coupe with a similar car with a lot less mileage, and this one fit the bill. The 2009 has significantly more interior space. The engine has a bit less power/pick-up than the 2007, and the noise level inside the cabin is a slightly higher. Im currently having a problem with the "Check Fuel Cap" light coming on intermittently and randomly, but the dealer told me there was no indication in the "black box" as to what is causing this. This problem is in process of being corrected, perhaps via a new fuel cap. Overall, this car is comfortable and reliable and has a bit more of a sporty look than the 2007 version. Definitely am satisfied with the purchase.

  • Seats are Awful - 2009 Honda Accord
    By -

The seats are way too hard and the contour is not needed. I cant stand to drive or sit in this car, it is a PAINFUL experience. Honda doesnt care!

  • Displeased - 2009 Honda Accord

Within first month, the brakes started to squeal…I have taken the car to the dealership 6 times & they could not fix it. After the fifth visit, the dealership admitted that Honda knows about this problem; apparently Honda has a Tech Line stating FRONT BRAKE SQUEAL and PREMATURE REAR PAD WEAR on 2008-09 Accord and Accord V6. In addition, I have problems with different buttons squeaking & the only thing they have done is spray oil on them. I have contacted Honda for help, nevertheless, nothing has happened… they are claiming Honda ENGINEERS are working on the brake problem (almost 2 years) & they are not willing to make an attempt to fix it by replacing the pads. I will NEVER buy a Honda.

  • Great MPG but hate the seat! - 2009 Honda Accord
    By -

We were forced into purchasing another car. We were coming out of a 2000 Nissan Maxima SE which is billed as the "family sports car" and it is. We had all the bells and whistles and we loved that car. New Maxima was out of our price range. Previously had a Honda Accord back in 1986 which we loved, kept it until 212,000 miles so thats why we went back to a Honda. Did lots of research on this purchase and for the money it seemed like we should have been thrilled; we got $6K off the sticker and have had it 5 weeks and put 5200 miles on it. We are getting 36MPG which is fantastic BUT the drivers seat and steering wheel are horribly uncomfortable. Very tough getting used to this car.
