This Year's Model Updates:

Freshened exterior styling debuts on the 2001 Honda Accord, with a more aggressive-looking front fascia and hood and a new taillight design. Honda also ups the safety features list, making dual-stage, dual-threshold front airbags standard and side airbags available on all models. All Accords now either meet or exceed California's low-emission vehicle (LEV) standards (some Accords meet ULEV standards, and one model sold in California is rated SULEV). Improvements aimed at reducing road and wind noise have been made, while EX models get a standard in-dash six-disc CD changer, and all V6 models come with traction control. Midyear, a DX four-banger equipped with a special value package debuted, adding an automatic transmission, air conditioning, a CD player, floor mats, fake wood interior accents and special exterior trim.

Pros:
  • Great build quality, spacious interior, peppy yet clean engines, comfortable seats, excellent resale value, reputation for bulletproof reliability.
Cons:
  • Everybody drives one, personality of Al Gore, taut highway ride.

This isnt my first Honda. I had a few other accords along the years as well. The car is ok for good fuel economy. I think because there is money spent the resale value/trade in value should be a little higher. I have never had any major problems with any of my accords except the motor mount and the "boots". I however will not be buying another accord again just because they all seem to stay the same. I have a V6 and still drives like the first 4 cylinder I bought back in 93. I do like them but changes need to be made... I have had a 93,95,96,98,2000 and a 2001. So, enough for me.

I passed up a high-end European car in 2001 on rumours of electrical problems. Im at 65,000 miles and 2 accidents (not my fault) and the Accord is faultless. I havent had even one issue, one rattle - nothing. (The dealer gets kudos for the quick faultless repairs after the accidents.) The TCS has proven helpful in ice, although better tires have proven a better solution in that area. Back seat fits a newborn carseat very well and the easy entry makes it easy for Dad to climb out after installing the carseat. After 5 years - Im really digging for an excuse to get the 2005. But I cant come up with one. My car runs as well as the day I bought it. Go to Koons!

I have no major complaints about this car, except that the side airbag light goes on when a heavier person is sitting in the passenger seat, or I have books on there. Overall, I love driving this car!

I had a 1998 almost identical and loved it. It got totaled, so I replaced it with the 2001. I love it as well. I think that it is extremely stylish. I love the comfort and the leather. I really enjoy the climate control system. I have yet to find another car that I would want to trade it in for.

An excellent car with a smooth ride, though somewhat noisy on freeways. Mine is a 2002 and havent had problems so far. With tinted windows, rear-end spoiler and fancy rims, its a beauty and a road beast-at once. Love it!!!!

I owned a Civic before and this Accord is much better car. The handling and acceleration is very good. The value of the car is excellent. I would recommend this car to anyone who wants a very reliable car.

  • Very good car - 2001 Honda Accord

This is a terrific car! It replaces my 91 Mazda (307,000+ miles) and is definitely a great bargain. Seats are very comfortable in the front, much like my 2000 Camry LE V-6, and the controls are very well laid out. Even with the 4-banger, this car has solid performance, and oil analysis on both engine and transmission indicate excellent reliability. I also appreciate the relatively easy access to all routine maintenance items. The only drawback is a poorly designed back seat. The seat cushion does not provide adequate thight support for a person of average height, and the rear seat headrests, just two small bumps, are almost worthless.

I turned a plain car into a car that is eye catching and fun to drive. The price I paid was below dealer invoice, because I shopped around. I used the money I saved to make it look sportier. No problems whatsoever in te two years I have had it. Tinted windows a must, euro tail lights, kept same tires added aluminum wheels, a honda bra for front end, xenon fusion blue bulbs in headlamps, neons on hood, racing seat covers, blue interior lights, and stainless steel exhaust adds horsepower and better acceleration.
