Overview & Reviews
Few vehicles from overseas manufacturers have garnered as much respect in North America as the Honda Accord. It hasn't achieved this status by being glamorous, sexy or thrilling. Instead, Honda just seems to have its finger on the pulse of what Americans value most. Take an Accord for a spin and you'll find it to be comfortable, roomy, intelligently engineered and easy to drive. It's also backed by strong resale value and a solid reputation for reliability.
You'll find that certain competing sedans and coupes are quicker, more prestigious or simply less expensive than the Accord. What's special about the Honda Accord, though, is its completeness. It scores well across a broader range of categories than practically any family-friendly sedan or coupe on the market. When examined from this holistic standpoint, it's easy to see why the Accord has become an automotive icon and remains one of our editors' top recommendations.

Be careful when you are merging................. - 2014 Honda Accord
By Chet - March 24 - 3:42 am10/16/2016 Update: I have now had the car to my dealer 3 times. The last was with the assistance of the factory rep who admitted to just having a similar complaint within the past week. The hesitation/stalling has not improved (since i wrote my first review I have seen this problem described as "stalling" and I thinks it fits). I have reduced my "safety" stars to three because I just dont believe the car is safe. I also reduced the "miles per year" number because I dont drive the car if I dont have to. I have another vehicle. The last comment from my dealership was "whatever it is doing...it is normal for the car". I will trade this car in as soon as I can afford to. First, about the performance. There is something wrong with the acceleration when you have been coasting before merging into traffic. When you try to accelerate nothing happens! My dealer says unless I can demonstrate it they cant help but it doesnt always do it. Ive seen other complaints about it but the best my dealer service person would say is that customers have told him if you roll through a stop sign and then hit the gas it hangs up for a bit. Well, it sometimes does the same when you are merging. I almost got rear ended by the guy behind me when it happened the first time. Now I dont merge unless there is a huge gap for me to merge into and Im worried when I do it. Most of the people who complain feel it is the CVT transmission that is the problem and I agree. Now for the head rest. After I bought the car I realized that the head rest was causing me to get a neck ache as it is too far forward. The parts man at my dealership told me he couldnt drive his wifes Accord for the same reason. I tried to find an upholstery person to fix it for me but no one wanted to touch it. I finally I opened it myself and used my wifes carving knife to shave the foam rubber down and stitched it up with mono fishing line. It was a shame to have to do that but Honda (I called Honda customer service) wouldnt help me so I had no choice. At least my dealer parts man tried to help. The head rest was made by two manufacturers so he ordered the other one for me but it was the same. I think he was hoping that would work so he could do the same for his wifes car. By the way, this problem also occurs when parking. If you turn into a parking space and realize you arent straight enough and have to back out and go forward again, the car may stall and then suddenly surge forward so I dont park where there is a curb or concrete block in front of me for fear I might hit it or worse yet go over it. Now for the tech stuff. The email & texting features dont work. They dont tell you that only certain cell phones will work with the system when you buy the car. I am sorry I purchased this car. I also have a 2008 Honda CRV which is a great car (including the head rest) but it also now comes with a CVT transmission. I wont buy another Honda.

Good, but not great - 2005 Honda Accord
By Masjevo - March 23 - 2:06 pmPurchased the car after getting a new job and losing my company car, a 2002 Ford Taurus. The Honda is definitely better, but not as much as I expected it to be, especially the build quality. There are already rattles and creaks coming from the interior and the sunroof and the car only has 100 miles on it. Dont get me wrong, the quality is good, I just expected more. Also, not happy with the dealership at all. When I took delivery, the car was not totally clean and there was a ding and scratch in the rear bumper. To get me out of his hair, the salesman told me that if they could not fix the bumper to my satisfaction, theyd replace it completely. Well see what happens...

A work in progress-Accord SE - 2007 Honda Accord
By Wise 1 - March 21 - 11:56 pmThe Accord has excellent power and a smooth shifting tranny, very strong stereo and cd player is great. Heat works well cant comment on AC until summertime. The brakes are very touchy and require very little effort, stops quickly and predictably. Fit and finish are excellent but drivers seat is short and doesnt give the support most will need if they are more than 5 5" tall. Head room adequate for those 6. Center armrest doesnt extend far enough for me. I can barely use it. The ergonomics of the cockpit are with larger and taller drivers in mind.

Honest 30,000 mile review - 2008 Honda Accord
By Honest Abe - March 21 - 1:30 amThe good news, for the money, tough to beat. Lots of features, very good engines, excellent transmission, steady handling, tons of room, and still, very reliable. My mileage, is averaging about 28.5 mpg city/hwy combined. On the highway, I got as high as 32 mpg, and I drive somewhere between 75 and 80. However, like so many reviews, I too, have had a brake problem. Had to have the rotors turned at 25,000 miles, but that was it. Also road noise. Honda shouldve, not couldve, made this more quiet, but still not as terrible as described by so many others.

Dont Lose The Race NOW! - 2007 Honda Accord
By DL - March 19 - 9:45 am5th accord 4 cyl. Owned since 1991. Gas mileage great, Cruise set at 75, got 34 mpg on 800 mile trip, after 6500 mile break-in. But some quality issues never had on older Accords - brake rotors shake and brake fade on long steep hills. Even with leather option, seats comfort in front is terrible even on 100 mile trip. I am a serious car collector and insist on quality and reliability, the reason I have been with Honda all these yrs. But Honda is starting to lower their standards, the very thing that put them on top. This is the first time I have ever had reason to question the build quality of this brand car. Honda, stop the bleeding! What a great business model, save this product!

Could be better - 2007 Honda Accord
By DanaS - March 19 - 4:20 amPicked up a Honda Accord for the wife to drive. It seemed to be a good economical car, but hasnt gotten near the EPA mileage. The six cylinder with the auto is nice, but not as economical as we thought. The interior is well put together and somewhat plush like a 1980s Buick. The parts fit together well and are acceptable for a 25K car. The ride is an anamoly...flaccid yet tinny. Not much of a step up from a Civic.
