Model Overview:

Few vehicles from overseas manufacturers have garnered as much respect in North America as the Honda Accord. It hasn't achieved this status by being glamorous, sexy or thrilling. Instead, Honda just seems to have its finger on the pulse of what Americans value most. Take an Accord for a spin and you'll find it to be comfortable, roomy, intelligently engineered and easy to drive. It's also backed by strong resale value and a solid reputation for reliability.

You'll find that certain competing sedans and coupes are quicker, more prestigious or simply less expensive than the Accord. What's special about the Honda Accord, though, is its completeness. It scores well across a broader range of categories than practically any family-friendly sedan or coupe on the market. When examined from this holistic standpoint, it's easy to see why the Accord has become an automotive icon and remains one of our editors' top recommendations.

  • Brakes and rotors: F = Ma -dness? - 2004 Honda Accord
    By -

This car has a host of outstanding features--excluding the ABS and hydraulics. The rotors seem to degrade very quickly: The first owner was able to wipe them out after 25M! I had had the rotors resurfaced (twice!), but there are still problems, probably because they are so thin now. Now I cant bed-in the brakes, which could mean trouble on the freeway or in dense city traffic because of the huge stopping distance.

  • 220k miles - 1994 Honda Accord
    By -

After 20 years of buying new American cars, I could no longer afford a car payment. I purchased a 1994 Accord EX 5-sp with 217k miles for $1800.00. I spent $41.00 on a used tail light and touch-up paint. The car passed CA emissions with flying colors, and I drive it over 100 miles every day. It drives like I took it off the showroom floor. My last car was a new Chrysler SUV that cost 41k, and was on its 3rd transmission at 107k miles. I wish I had discovered Hondas sooner.

  • Great looking, reliable, but boring car. - 2001 Honda Accord
    By -

Bought mine 5 months ago and even though I find its reliability quite impressive, I still cant figure out why this car was made: Its a sporty looking coupe, but it was never offered as a stick shift, has a very soft suspension and visually deceiving configuration - its long body suggests RWD but being a Honda it never came as such. AWD was never offered in US either. Other than that - the J30A1 motor provides great fuel economy for a V6, the ride is smooth and comfortable, and most things in the interior are conveniently located and make sense.

  • Great car - Hondas last forever - 1997 Honda Accord
    By -

Great all around car: good handling, comfortable for me at 62", quiet, no squeaks or rattles in a 12 year old car with 145k miles!, good mpg especially with the 5 spd, parts are cheap and plentiful - new kits for all front joints / tie rod ends for $100 on eBay.

  • Big Fun Car - 2008 Honda Accord
    By -

I really like this car a lot. For the money, it is definitely the best choice out there. I got the 4 cylinder LX model in a manual transmission, and it has more than enough power. I was actually suprised at the acceleration for this base model engine. My only really complaint is the gas mileage is not as good as advertised. I do about 90% highway driving and I am only getting 22-23 mpg which isnt that bad considering it is a big car. But other than that, I would definitely recomend this car to anyone, especially taller people!

  • One of the best cars ever built - 2001 Honda Accord
    By -

I believe Honda Accords are one of the best cars ever made dollar for dollar. If you have a job where you drive a lot as I do, I would HIGHLY recommend a Honda Accord. Keep the oil changed and drive them reasonably, and they will go for a very very long time.

  • Long term review of Mean Joe Green - 2000 Honda Accord
    By -

All cars should have names. My Accord is affectionately known as Mean Joe Green. Im at 216,000 miles, having purchased it at 65,400. Ive replaced the belts twice, two motor mounts, bought two sets of tires, two water pumps, and two sets of brake pads. Aside from those issues, most of my indicator lights in the dash have gone out. But I still get at least 28 mpg on the highway. Handles best with Goodyear Assurance Tripletreads. That was my first replacement set of tires, and it went about 65k. Perfect for twisty Mississippi back roads that I used to commute on, 164 miles round trip daily. Leather drivers seat is torn up. Replaced the seat frame. Best car Ive owned ever.

  • Problems with navigation system - 2008 Honda Accord
    By -

I bought this car because of the reviews. I had a problem with the navigation from the first week. It freezes and will will back out "dial- in" options, not very handy when you are lost. I need to shut off the car to get it to correct itself.

  • Had to Sell Her - 1996 Honda Accord
    By -

Well, I was the only owner, and I had to sell her. I could not get the check engine light to stay off. I had the distributor changed, and that did not solve the problem. The code was P1382. The car was great until this problem came up. I finally got tired of trying to figure it out. I loved the design of this car, and I will miss her.

  • Took a friends advice, and bought a Honda Accord. - 2006 Honda Accord
    By -

After purchasing MANY different new cars throughout my life, in 2006 I decided to take the advise of a trusted and wise Honda owning friend. He had 250K on his 2005 Honda Accord, and he loved the car. My Honda has been THE BEST auto purchase ever, and it is 100% reliable and inexpensive to operate! As a professional marketer and on the road most of the time, this is HUGE. Not sure I can ever part with her.
