This Year's Model Updates:

Following a complete redesign last year, the 2009 Honda Accord carries over unchanged, though the V6's official engine output is up a smidge after further testing revealed slightly more power than previously measured.

Pros:
  • Ample passenger space, high-quality interior, above-average steering feel, high resale value, available coupe body style.
Cons:
  • Intrusive road noise, button-heavy center stack, some find seats uncomfortable.

  • Excellant Sedan For The Money - 2009 Honda Accord

There is a lot to like and little to dislike about this car. Interior design, exterior design and build quality are excellent. The engine has adequate power, the dash layout is great - backlit instruments, user- friendly A/C and radio controls (no problem with the button stack layout) and plenty of bins and cup holders. The seats are a bit firm but not uncomfortable around town, still waiting to take a long trip. Road noise is higher than my previous Camry but not bad enough for a big complaint. Gas mileage so far is 22 city which should improve over time. Excellent handling. Got the car for invoice, including dealer add-ons, plus an additional $1000 discount. Excellent dealer relationship.

  • I miss my "03" - 2009 Honda Accord
    By -

This is my 3rd Accord since 1997. Aesthetically the car is fabulous inside and out. Bigger, more luxurious and a little more power. I think the seats are very comfortable contrary to other reviews. Unfortunately, my brakes do squeal after 5K miles and a persistent vibration does emanate from the rear, interior deck. The transmission is weak, gas mileage is poor 19 mpg city/mixed where my "03" got around 22 to 24 with the same "spirited" driving style. Worst of all...I feel 40+ years old when I drive this thing whereas my "03" was much sportier, quicker and agile. Overall, a very good car but I probably should have bought the GT Mustang instead!

  • Uncomfortable Seats - 2009 Honda Accord

The seats in my 2009 Honda Accord are so uncomfortable that I am going to sell the car after owning the car for only 8 months. Honda of America is not interested in helping me find a solution.

  • Best Car - 2009 Honda Accord

We now have had the car for 6 months and have driven it over 8000 miles and still find it to be the best car I have owned. We have not had any issues with seat comfort or brakes. The car is used for mostly short driving in town but still delivers a 23-24 mpg. We drove it to Chicago Il and back in Sept. a trip of over 600 miles each way and got 34 mpg. At no time did I find the seats uncomfortable (9hr trip). The road noise does change with pavement type, concrete being the noisiest.

  • Good car - 2009 Honda Accord

The car is beautifully designed. The workmanship is good. The interior is fresh, not boring, and comfortable. The seats are supportive. The center console is a little busy but not too bad. It handles very well, surprised since the car is family car; but drives like my old 1993 Prelude VTEC. Love it.

  • Worst road noise experienced - 2009 Honda Accord
    By -

Worst road noise experienced. Have owned 8-9 Hondas and this one is a great, great let down. The ride is bumpy and road noise levels prevent a descent conversation with the passenger. Lack of Michelin tires is also a negative. Really surprised at all the interior noise, particularly coming from a manufacturer who set the standard for fine Imported vehicles. So remorseful for purchasing this auto.

  • Coming Back to Honda II - 2009 Honda Accord
    By -

After 7,000 miles, the car is performing good. Nevertheless, there are some poor quality issues related to details, such as loose door panels, seats springs noise, and paint scratches in the bumpers. Brakes squeak and road noises are very annoying. In the positive side, the fuel economy, engine performance, car design and Cd changer/radio sound are great. If I decide to buy another Accord would go for a thorough road test and read more carefully the car reviews. Overall, I have mixed feelings, because I had greater expectations for a car like this, but still think the Honda Accord is a great car.

  • Disappointed! - 2009 Honda Accord
    By -

Where to start: 1)Have had the car into the dealership three times for squeaking breaks, told nothing can be done, issue with pads at Honda 2)Road noise is horrible, coming from rear wheel wells, told there are vents? 3) When I lose reception on the satellite radio I have to turn the car off, then on again to get the signal back 4)The vehicle rattles a lot. This is my third Honda, I had a 97 Prelude and a 03 Odyssey, no problems, but this one has been a big disappointment! Looked at the BMW 335i and Infiniti G37, thought I was saving money, instead I got a lot of headaches!

  • Love This Car - 2009 Honda Accord

This is an excellent vehicle. I bought mine used with 67,000 miles on it in 2013 and always had people asking me what year it was. I only did oil changes and the car always performed as asked. Good get up and go for a four cylinder and decent gas mileage. If you can get a good deal on one I would not hesitate!!

This Honda Accord is a very nice automobile overall; however, I find there is above average road noise. The front beverage holders are not able to hold two small coffees since one of the holders is deep .
