Overview & Reviews
As the model was fully redesigned for the 2003 model year, there are only a few changes on the 2004 Honda Accord. Availability of side curtain airbags has been expanded this year to four-cylinder EX models -- standard on those with leather, optional on cars with a cloth interior. All four- and six-cylinder EX models equipped with a leather interior now have XM Satellite Radio with three months of free service as standard equipment. And as with all Honda cars this year, a new seatbelt reminder system is standard. Accord models meeting California's stringent Partial Zero Emissions Vehicle (PZEV) standards -- all four-cylinder sedans equipped with automatic transmission -- will also be sold in the states of New York, Maine, Vermont and Massachusetts.
- Tight build quality, quiet cabin, refined and powerful engines, reputation for quality and durability, high crash test scores.

Not another Honda for me! - 2004 Honda Accord
By NEVER AGAIN HONDA - January 8 - 2:02 pmI purchased my Honda based on the reliability of all reports I read. I had always owned Pontiacs in the past. I am extremely diligent with maintenance. A considerable expense with Honda. I had several problems that cost me additional repairs. Interior light problems, trim not staying on. Storage compartment door broke on 3 occasions. The navi system started acting up. The cost of the navi system was $2,000 when I purchased the car. Today I was told the system needed to be replaced for $5,351. Yet, the cost for a new 2009 Honda Accord with navi is still only approx $2000 more than w/out. What a gimmick! Be warned! Dont waste your money!

accord v-6 auto. 04 - 2004 Honda Accord
By iiaftomcat - January 6 - 11:16 pmVery good car overall. Purchased this car last December and have been reasonably pleased with it albeit with a few caveats: The car is not as "quiet" as it should be. Road noise is excessive and additional undercoating did not help matters. Handling is very good. Good sedan, but this is no sports sedan. Engine is nice and the pick up is excellent, although I dont particularly care for steering wheel vibration during idling which the dealer claims to be normal. Fit and finish are good, with a few cheap touches around the back of the front seats. Finally, the two recalls (first the transmission and now the airbag) have me seriously concerned about the quality control at Honda.

Nothing special, it will get you there - 2004 Honda Accord
By My1stHonda - January 4 - 10:13 amI purchased this car new and have had no real problem with it. It handles well, gets decent gas mileage, and can be quite comfortable if you like a firm seat. On the downside, there is quite a bit of road noise, and wind noise. Honda should use more sound dampening material. Also, the backlight for the drivers heated seat switch died after 18 months, seat still heats up though. I still do not understand why the steering wheel controls do not light up on the steering wheel, this can be annoying when driving at night. I have the gray leather and the drivers seat has cracked after only 2 years. Seems to be a low quality leather.

Fine Honda but needs improvement! - 2004 Honda Accord
By John Mercer - January 3 - 10:54 amI have owned this V6 w/navi for over 4 yrs. and it is extremely reliable, great gas mileage w/V6 and powerful. I do have suggestions for improvement for the very near future. When this model was introduced, it lacked fog lights which I installed with a Honda OEM kit. I cant live without these lights! Another very important improvement for this car and the newest models (09), would be an 8-way power seat for the front passenger. The front seats are angled or sloped downward at the back too much and make it very uncomfortable for people with back problems. An 8-way adjustment would solve this! I ended up lifting the back of the seat upwards with longer bolts and shims. Otherwise a fine car.

Awesome Car!!!! - 2004 Honda Accord
By auditor - December 3 - 2:00 amI was test driving used Lexus and Acura when I came across the new V-6 Accord. This car easily stacks up to ES300 and the TL for thousands less. You will not be disappointed with this car.

Best Value - 2004 Honda Accord
By Russ - November 30 - 6:51 pmGOOD: Best car I have ever owned - does everything well. Good compromise between handling and ride comfort (after new tires, read below). Extremely reliable and well built. Cant live without the navigation system - best I have used. Touch screen makes it easy to enter data while creeping along in city traffic. With many nav systems you must be in park or be stopped to operate, but not with this one. XM radio is voice operated. Intuitive controls. Separate driver-side and passenger-side set-and-forget temperature control. BAD: No sex appeal. Not bluetooth compatible. With automatic, easy to accidentally select third gear (D3) instead of fifth (D).

Excellent Car - 2004 Honda Accord
By Ken Baxley - November 30 - 1:49 pmI brought my Accord new and have not any problems with the car. My son used when he went away to college then my daughter. The two complaints I have with the car are: 1. The clear coat is coming off and Honda will not own up to the problem even dealerships acknowledge that there is a problem with the paint job from the factory. 2. The other problem is the brakes started to squeal after about 30000 miles on it. I have replaced brake pads and still will not go away.

My 3rd Accord and Not My Last! - 2004 Honda Accord
By HndaDrvr4Life - November 30 - 10:11 amI traded in my 96 Accord EX 4dr for an 04 Honda Accord LX 4dr, with the 5-speed automatic and I love it! Yeah, I miss my sunroof, but the overall performance, gas mileage, and reliability outweigh the missing sunroof. I have had no trouble with this vehicle since I purchased it. It had about 16,000 miles on it when I got it earlier this year. Now it has about 31,000 and still riding trouble free. The one thing I do not like is the blind spots in this car. Ive had a 2000 Accord LX and a 1996 Accord EX and the visibility in those was great. In this car, not so much. Its like aiming a land yacht sometimes when parking. However, this is still the best one Ive had.

The whole ball of wax - 2004 Honda Accord
By Kevin A. Smith - November 22 - 10:00 amAlthough there was a irritating rattle in the drivers door for the first month I owned the car (loose molding clip), I am very pleased with my new, and first, Honda. It has a comfortable, quiet ride. Theres plenty of room for myself, my wife, baby and all the baby "luggage". I like the trunk lid design. It is nice being able to slide things into the trunk rather than having to lift and manipulate them into the trunk. Theres also sufficient power when passing or merging into traffic. The only annoying thing about it is that there isnt daytime running/auto on- off headlights.
