Overview & Reviews
Few vehicles from overseas manufacturers have garnered as much respect in North America as the Honda Accord. It hasn't achieved this status by being glamorous, sexy or thrilling. Instead, Honda just seems to have its finger on the pulse of what Americans value most. Take an Accord for a spin and you'll find it to be comfortable, roomy, intelligently engineered and easy to drive. It's also backed by strong resale value and a solid reputation for reliability.
You'll find that certain competing sedans and coupes are quicker, more prestigious or simply less expensive than the Accord. What's special about the Honda Accord, though, is its completeness. It scores well across a broader range of categories than practically any family-friendly sedan or coupe on the market. When examined from this holistic standpoint, it's easy to see why the Accord has become an automotive icon and remains one of our editors' top recommendations.

Great car with minor faults - 2010 Honda Accord
By tominnh - February 27 - 10:24 amIve owned my 2010 Accord Coupe EX-L V6 for 5 1/2 years. Outside of the rear brake issue that Honda had with this model, I have nothing but praise for this car. Its has smooth and quick acceleration. Its well put together and nothing has gone wrong mechanically. Its classified as a large car so theres plenty of room everywhere. Gas mileage is acceptable and on a 1400 mile trip I got 26.5 MPG thanks to the cylinder deactivation feature. My only real gripes are that the compass is useless. Whenever the car goes under an underpass that has electrical conduits under it, the compass goes haywire. Over the years, it seems to me that driver seats got so hard that a I had to get a cushion.

Ticking noise is driving me crazy! - 2014 Honda Accord
By pebbycree - February 25 - 3:58 amHave taken the car in at least 9 times (I stopped counting) for interior noises...in the dashboard, in the doors, in the glovebox. I now have to ride around with the glovebox open...that the only way to stop the ticking sound. Service dept can never replicate the noise so Im stuck. Glovebox door closed - ticking sound glovebox door open - ticking sound. You would think they could figure it out, but they cant. I plan to have them remove glovebox door and Ill try to fix on my own. Very nice car otherwise...but thats what I get for switching from Toyota. You spend $25000 on a car and have to drive around with glovebox open... Only 11000 miles at 14 months...because I hate to drive it.

Great car - 2002 Honda Accord
By bsedgal - February 24 - 9:20 pmI owned this car from 05 (55k miles) to 2011 (140k miles). No issues whatsoever. That is, outside of ordinary maintenance. the only thing I remember is that the hood latch wouldnt close without pressing down on the cable with a screw driver. I kept good on sticking to the maintenance schedule with all the suggested items. Yes I replaced the tranny fluid so NO I did not have tranny problems. Seems most people dont take care of their trannys then blame the Honda for tranny failures. Great car, wish I didnt have to sell it but after 3 kids, had to get a minivan.

Exceeded expectations - 2015 Honda Accord
By akaubrey - February 22 - 3:21 pmI bought my Accord EX-L 2.4L in November, 2014 and have 2200 miles today. For my new Accord, I was a little worried about the CVT, but became quickly impressed during highway driving with cruise control. There’s no constant downshifts with high engine RPMs and then shifting back to normal ‘drive’. The only thing you notice when going up a hill is the RPM gradually creeps up to maintain cruise speed and then slowly returns to normal low RPM, which is around 1400 RPM at 70 MPH. I love the passenger side camera/display for right lane changes. This car has the lane detectors for monitoring the center and right paint striping on the road. It ‘beeps’ at me around 8 inches away from stripes.

not impressed - 2014 Honda Accord
By Susan Schayes - February 21 - 7:52 amA lot of people love this car. I bought one based on the test drive and was sorely disappointed. There was a lot of vibration in the engine which extended to the steering wheel. The navigation system was very difficult to use. The front seat was uncomfortable for my 53 frame. The worst thing was the noise level. This car was noisy at 45 and horrible on the highway. I got rid of it after four months.

Less than expected - 2015 Honda Accord
By suziesivlerado - February 19 - 6:34 amI was very disappointed in this car. My test drive went fine, but when brought it home and drove it for more than an hour, my back hurt. The head restraint position, and seat curves, are awful for someone 53". The engine/drive train started to produce excessive vibration through the steering wheel whenever it was in neutral. The navigation system, as others noted, is hard to use. It is almost impossible to find local stores without the exact address. Lastly, the road/exterior noise was abominable, especially at highway speeds. I used a sound meter, and this car had higher levels than almost any other car I tested, at all speeds.

EGR Valve problems - 2001 Honda Accord
By sg15 - February 8 - 11:23 pmI like the way the car drives. I would have given better ratings if it werent for a couple of reliability issues: 1) The EGR valve warning has been a recurring problem. The first time at 74K miles I did not know Honda had a TSB to replace it and replace a tube with a wider tube. I got the valve replaced at a repair chain. Through its TSB Honda increased its warranty to 80K miles. Now, the EGR valve warning is back at 87K miles. Honda refuses to cover this under warranty. There is a lot of discussion about this problem on the web. Clearly there is a problem with Hondas EGR valves. I think Honda should stand by its products. I dont understand why number of years matters for this.
