Overview & Reviews
Few vehicles from overseas manufacturers have garnered as much respect in North America as the Honda Accord. It hasn't achieved this status by being glamorous, sexy or thrilling. Instead, Honda just seems to have its finger on the pulse of what Americans value most. Take an Accord for a spin and you'll find it to be comfortable, roomy, intelligently engineered and easy to drive. It's also backed by strong resale value and a solid reputation for reliability.
You'll find that certain competing sedans and coupes are quicker, more prestigious or simply less expensive than the Accord. What's special about the Honda Accord, though, is its completeness. It scores well across a broader range of categories than practically any family-friendly sedan or coupe on the market. When examined from this holistic standpoint, it's easy to see why the Accord has become an automotive icon and remains one of our editors' top recommendations.

Should of kept my old car - 2002 Honda Accord
By tonieJ - May 28 - 10:00 amAnd thats not saying much....my old car was a beat up fifteen yr old hyundai excel with 250,000 miles. A shopping cart hit my car in the parking lot and caused $1500.00 worth of damage. Looked like it was hit by a tractor trailer....the drivers seat detatched from the body two wks later sending my head crashing into the windshield....this is a safe car?!?

I want to like this car, but... - 2002 Honda Accord
By Routerone - May 28 - 10:00 amPurchased this car 4/14/02. In 3 weeks we heard a buzzing sound in the tranny. At the dealer, they opened the tranny and said they needed to replace a bearing. The part was ordered/installed and it was in the shop 4 days. 4 days and 100 miles later, the buzzing noise was back. Back at the dealer, I get word that Honda engineers in CA recommended replacing all the bearings in the transmission (10). The bearings were ordered and arrived in 4 days. Then, I was heard that 1 of the 10 bearings did not arrive. Its on back-order and would have to come from Japan and its still in the shop. My 11.5 year old Dodge is more reliable.

Less reliable than a Yugo - 2002 Honda Accord
By Irwinbenz - May 28 - 10:00 amI must admit that I listened to the hype and bought this car purely because it was a "honda". Two weeks after purchasing this car the engine started making a wheezing knocking sound shortly followed by a loud BANG! Well the loud bang turned out to be a piston ripping thru the engine block. I ended up getting a new engine, a new transmission, and a new stereo (the old one flamed out second time I used it) all this with less than 3000 miles on it. Maybe I just got stuck with a lemon, but one things for sure, Ill never buy a honda anything ever again!!

So far so good - 2002 Honda Accord
By henry007 - May 28 - 10:00 amIm reaching my 100 miles odometer and everything seems pretty cool. Im learning how to use the "D3" and "D4" automatic gear , so at freeway always use D4 and once I get out of it I change to D3... Is that how its used ? The only thing Im going to buy pretty soon is a steering wheel cover to make it a little bit thicker. Is the "granitize process" recommended ? P.S. I just hope Honda keeps this body style a couple of more years so that It keeps its value. (Civics have a new body style) What alarm system do you recommend for this car in the aftermarket ?

Good Car - 1998 Honda Accord
By DJ - May 28 - 10:00 amIve driven Honda since 1979 and have put over 200,000 miles on all 5 Ive owned. This car is by far better refined than ever before. However, I have had some small problems the check engine light related to the new in 98 LEV emissions. I have 91,000 on this one and am going for 300,000. There is no doubt it will make it. It runs the same as the day I bought it.

Getting Bored - 2007 Honda Accord
By cha - May 27 - 5:48 pmI have had this since 07 August and this is my second accord and second review. After driving it for more than 40k miles I am noticing some defects. When its cold its harder to shift the 3rd gear since mine is a stick shift. Also I hear some rattling noise in the front and and some noise under the stereo. Breaks and the clutch is fine so far and regular oil changes are done at Honda Dealerships. It has a great pickup when shifting gears since its a stick shift. No matter what it is a great econobox even after 40k but wouldnt buy an accord again cos Im getting bored with this car...By the way 2 months after I bought the car I had to take it back to replace noisy drivers seat.

My 6th Accord and probably my best - 2001 Honda Accord
By Jr - May 26 - 4:50 pmFirst off, Ive been driving accords for 18 years, and all of them were manuals. I bought my 2001 ex sedan going on 2 months ago from a friend. She got the car in 2002 with 25,000 miles on it; I got it with 217,000 miles. Everything major was recently replaced (timing belt, clutch, seals, brakes, etc). The paint isnt doing the infamous fade/peel like most, its a manual so no worries about the transmission, the engine is clean with no visible sludge, and the check engine light isnt on. The headlights are a tad foggy and the front bumper has some scratches and scuffs, but this thing was well taken care of! Though its 15 years old, I plan on driving this car for several years. I have owned a 92, 99, 91, 93, 02, and now an 01. The 1993 ex sedan holds the title, but this one striving to be the best accord Ive owned!

Do not buy a 2013 Honda Accord - too many problems - 2013 Honda Accord
By reviewer24 - May 26 - 3:53 pmIm curious as to why people like it, since it is the worst, most unreliable, problem filled car Honda has ever made. I have 20 unreolved problems with my car with the NAV, audio, transmission, seats. The seat is curved like an airplanes seat, the headrest pokes you in the back of the head forcing your head in an unatural position. Honda customer relations are useless. The dealer does not believe the owners when complaining about the problems and even refuse to look at them more than once. Look for "2013 Honda Accord Radio problems" in you tube. Also, look at this thread: http://www.hondaaccordforum.com/forum/audio-visual-electronics-10/2013-accord-problems-nav-blutooth-51172/

Over Rated Accord - 2007 Honda Accord
By Accord Mistake - May 26 - 6:30 amI would still be driving my 2003 Camry with 4 cylinder and automatic if the gal with the cell phone had stayed in her own lane! I would be driving a 2007 Camry to replace the 2003 if Toyota had not lowered the headroom by almost an inch! (2003 was the first Camry that fit my long torso). Honda has a good reputation and the 2007 Accord has headroom equal to the old Camry so it seemed like a no brainer but I was wrong. The Honda isnt even close to the Toyota in so many ways. Unfortunately the test drive wasnt long enough for me to pick up on everything. The front seats are way too stiff and narrow...have to drive with wallet out of pants. Highway mileage is 2-3 mpg less than Camry.

Love this car - 2006 Honda Accord
By josh37 - May 25 - 5:17 pmI just got this car from totaling my Lexus and like it a lot better. I love the inside and the outside and for a 4 cyl. It has a lot of power and for a two door theres a lot of room for my friends. I have not had a problem with this car yet and hope I wont and I have no complaints. I get complements from everybody at school, from family, and from total strangers.
