This Year's Model Updates:

Following a complete redesign last year, the 2009 Honda Accord carries over unchanged, though the V6's official engine output is up a smidge after further testing revealed slightly more power than previously measured.

Pros:
  • Ample passenger space, high-quality interior, above-average steering feel, high resale value, available coupe body style.
Cons:
  • Intrusive road noise, button-heavy center stack, some find seats uncomfortable.

  • Excellent Car - 2009 Honda Accord
    By -

I bought this car a couple weeks ago and I must say it is a fabulous car. I did a lot of research before buying this car and I really wanted a safe car because this is my first car. I was looking at this and the Camry and this car by far drove a lot better than the 4 cylinder Camry. It drives just as well as a 6 cylinder. The interior of the car is extremely classy looking and superb. Everything Ive ever wanted in a car and more. True luxury car for a non-luxury car price. This car has pretty much everything! Its such a joy to drive. =)

Car rides nice and looks nice. I find the drivers seat very uncomfortable but hope to get used to it in time. Not sure yet about the user interface with the navigation and bluetooth.

It is hard to get into the back seat if you have kids or even adult passengers. It is great for 2 people and comfortable. It has good acceleration. It drives great. It looks amazing.

  • Honda Luva - 2009 Honda Accord

I have previously owned several accords but this is the first new one. As a Honda luva, I am very pleased with my purchase. I luv to drive my accord and I luv telling people that. I have had no brake trouble and my seats are comfortable...and I know because I travel a lot in it. I did not think I could afford a new car, but my accord was a very good investment. Thats why you see so many on the road!

  • Dissapointing gas mileage - 2009 Honda Accord
    By -

The 2009 Accord is our eighth Honda. I am very happy about the safety and reliability of these cars. This car has improvements on the 2006 model such as regular tires which gives a much smoother ride. They have included fog lights at no extra charge. However, the seats are very hard compared to the 06. Very disappointing gas mileage 17-19 mpg avg. Much worse than the 06 V6. Considering the new VCM technology it should be much better. It should not cut off the cylinders so often, it should be after you are cruising for a few minutes on the highway. And, you can feel it going back and forth.

  • 4-cyl with a kick - 2009 Honda Accord
    By -

Now that I have 3k miles on the car, I want to share my experience. I have a LX-S 4cyl model, in white. After the first month of ownership, I took the car for a weekend trip to central coast, CA (est. 600 miles). For a 4cyl, it has excellent acceleration (kinda reminded me of my 2002 Lexus IS, but not quite). It is very roomy and very stylist. The ride is a bit rougher than the Camry. The seats are a bit uncomfortable. Mechanic is good. Steering wheel does not vibrate like other 4cyl. Fuel to power ratio is excellent, maybe the best in its class. It would be much more fun to drive, if it had rear-wheel drive.

  • First Honda - 2009 Honda Accord

I have only owned ford and gm cars in the past. I decided to try another company and I have heard everyone who had a honda never ever complain about them and they kept them until 100,000. I used to have a Saturn Vue and it was a junk box. I love my accord. I cannot complain except for the drivers seat, a little uncomfortable. I love how the design looks like a BMW 3 series. Honda did a great job in the redesign and making a car affordable with the looks. I hope to keep his one until it dies.

  • Dont Believe the Hype... - 2009 Honda Accord

Disappointed. Lets start with the good: Attractive design, excellent build quality, almost german-car like. Great handling. Reliability is fine. Now the BAD: Very uncomfortable seats, and driving position. Driver area is very confined and like sitting in a hole. Will never find a satisfying or comfortable position. Car looks good standing alone, but appears small and dinky next to other cars, even compacts. Rear-end design is ugly. 2.4L engine feels slow. Cant pass or merge to save your life. Rough idol, raggedy engine sound. Gas mileage not impressive. Gets 535 miles per tank, where Camry, Malibu, Sonata, get 600 miles/tank. Accord falls short on many fronts.

  • Good overall vehicle - 2009 Honda Accord
    By -

As previous Honda van owners, I felt we couldnt go wrong with the Accord when I needed to upgrade my 12-year old car. Has good pick-up from start and when on the highway and can get up to triple digits if necessary. Ive had no issues with it in the first 10 months of ownership, which is what I expected. Want more speed and features? Step up to the EX/V6. Want good, reliable, safe, basic transportation? Kind of hard to go wrong with the Accord.

  • My 2 Cents - 2009 Honda Accord

Overall Im happy w/ my car, I bought it 7/31/09 and have put a little over 3k miles on it thus far. My one complaint and I knew this going in is the road noise. Im just not sure what theyve missed but the road noise isnt as good as it should be. Other then that its a great car fun to drive plenty of pickup for a 4 Cylinder. MPG seems to be about 27 thus far (I drive almost exclusively freeway) would like a bit better (my 97 Accord got around 28).
