Overview & Reviews
Few vehicles from overseas manufacturers have garnered as much respect in North America as the Honda Accord. It hasn't achieved this status by being glamorous, sexy or thrilling. Instead, Honda just seems to have its finger on the pulse of what Americans value most. Take an Accord for a spin and you'll find it to be comfortable, roomy, intelligently engineered and easy to drive. It's also backed by strong resale value and a solid reputation for reliability.
You'll find that certain competing sedans and coupes are quicker, more prestigious or simply less expensive than the Accord. What's special about the Honda Accord, though, is its completeness. It scores well across a broader range of categories than practically any family-friendly sedan or coupe on the market. When examined from this holistic standpoint, it's easy to see why the Accord has become an automotive icon and remains one of our editors' top recommendations.

Great car!!! - 2000 Honda Accord
By Jonathan - June 12 - 1:12 pmI have owned my accord for over nine years and it still performs the same way as it did during the test drive! The only thing that I have had to replace is an alternator and it was actually covered by a factory bulletin and I only had to pay $25 for its replacement! Great Car!!!

191,000 looks and runs new - 1998 Honda Accord
By Karen - June 12 - 12:11 pmThis was my first Honda and it has been the best value purchase I have made in 30 years. Alternator and timing belt changed at 93,000 miles, which is close to the regular scheduled maintenance, otherwise no mechanical issues. Red paint still looks fairly new. We own 2 BMWs and have had problems with starting in the cold weather, the Honda has always started in the coldest Maine weather. I still love to drive this car, no blind spots, comfortable. Reliability is the reason we keep this car even at 191,000 miles. Drive the BMW for luxury!

Grab your ankles kids - 2002 Honda Accord
By NYRangers35 - June 11 - 8:26 pmThis is my second Honda, first one was a 1990 automatic and gave it to my friend with 235,000 (original trans). Should have kept it. But the 02 Accord, my first trans went out at 88k, second 130k, and were getting ready for #3. Will trade before #3 comes. Has 145k. Its a shame, other than routine maintenance (other than a crankshaft seal fix which was no big deal) everything else was OK. SRS light stays on because of fault drivers side seat belt sensor. They are warrantied for life but need a $100 diagnostic fee first. Honda did replace my first trans for nothing, 2nd one I paid $600 total. I know about cars and do change the tranny fluid. I knew I should have got the 5 speed.

honda quality declining... - 2001 Honda Accord
By Antun K - June 11 - 10:00 amnot very fun to drive due to slow acceleration and mediocre handling. both front door speakers began buzzing at 10k miles. Lack of power from a 150 hp I4 is glowing brightly! A huge manual shifter gets obnoxious after 60 miles. Brakes were shot around 36k miles. A/C never gets cold even after tune-ups. Styling is very conservative. On the plus side, CD changer is good and its in-dash so no trunk activity is reqd. Ive had four straight hondas and quality has declined. Also, wind noise and ride noise are problems. But it runs really well, so its not a junker. Im now getting a 525i so all you hondas on the road watch out! 525i=accord eater

WOW, from newly retired Honda Hater! - 2003 Honda Accord
By jjic - June 11 - 10:00 amGreat Handling & Power! This car REALLY moves with that V6 - no joking! The interior design is professionally crafted . . . This IS ergonimics defined! On the downside (every story has one), the exterior team needs to step up to the plate and deliver something/ANYTHING better and more in keeping with whats concealed under the hood and within the doors! Get it together, and give the shape more BODY!

Love My Hondas - 2006 Honda Accord
By JKM127 - June 10 - 6:33 amThis is my 6th Accord, and they keep getting better, but less imaginative and lately always seem behind the curve. Wish Honda could do more about the road noise, the car could use some soundproofing; The gear shifter could be sleeker, sexier not sticking up so high; Offer better and more extior colors mixup the exterior and interior colors, would like to have gotten the satin silver with tan intior; do not like the painted bumper they scratch up to easily; and do love the realiability and quality.

Brake squeaking - 2009 Honda Accord
By Hondaowner - June 7 - 3:13 amCar is really nice, but beginning about 3,000 miles brakes started squeaking. I understand that its happening on many new models and Honda has yet to find a solution for it. No safety concern, but annoying sound when driving, especially with windows down.

Awesome car - 1998 Honda Accord
By Tman - June 5 - 12:45 amI bought this car at 90k and am at 129k now--no problems! I just changed the timing belt. Tran has always been smooth--I heard about probs with this tran early on and flushed out tran fluid (chgd 5 times) to dilute old fluid until fluid looked clean (1/3 of fluid stays in when chging, this is why I flushed it several times--may have been a good investment as still shifts like butter). I started using synthetic oil for 1st time and notice engine and for some reason even the trans runs even smoother--almost identical to a new vehicle! HIGHLY RECOMMEND this car--and is fun to drive, although more comfortable than fun--plenty torque at 85+ mph even with 4cyl.

Better than Benz! - 2006 Honda Accord
By Mardi C. - June 4 - 6:06 pmI traded a 2004 C230 Kompressor and Im glad I did! The Benz was faster and had more electronics (in-dash diagnostic/trip computer with digital readout, and one-touch everything) but my EX-L coupe has all the comfort and a much better ride. The interior fit and construction is terrific, theres lots more driver leg room, and the seats are more comfortable than the Benz. My Honda coupe is every bit as nice as the Benz, inside and out, and cost $10,000.00 less!
