Model Overview:

Few vehicles from overseas manufacturers have garnered as much respect in North America as the Honda Accord. It hasn't achieved this status by being glamorous, sexy or thrilling. Instead, Honda just seems to have its finger on the pulse of what Americans value most. Take an Accord for a spin and you'll find it to be comfortable, roomy, intelligently engineered and easy to drive. It's also backed by strong resale value and a solid reputation for reliability.

You'll find that certain competing sedans and coupes are quicker, more prestigious or simply less expensive than the Accord. What's special about the Honda Accord, though, is its completeness. It scores well across a broader range of categories than practically any family-friendly sedan or coupe on the market. When examined from this holistic standpoint, it's easy to see why the Accord has become an automotive icon and remains one of our editors' top recommendations.

  • Great car, mileage less than advertised - 2005 Honda Accord

This car is LOADED - only thing missing is a sunroof. Only minor complaint is that the gas mileage should be better - Im averaging 32ish, and thought Id be closer to 35-37 mpg. I have 20K miles on it so far, and it seems to be getting a little better.

  • Okay overall, transmission failing - 2000 Honda Accord
    By -

My wifes car has 112,000 miles and is starting to have some transmission problems. Windshield defroster stopped working a few years back, and some dashboard lights and radio LCD burned out. Honda usually makes reliable cars and I still stand by them, but I still expected more miles out of this car. Our family is crossing our fingers that the transmission holds up. With this economy, who has the money to buy a new car? I have had Hondas through the late 80s and 90s from the CRX to the Honda Accords and the older cars performed and lasted a little longer.

  • Reliable and ages well - 2005 Honda Accord

Bought the 2005 4Dr LX automatic new. My wife used it as a work vehicle for four years and it was bulletproof. Similar to other reviews, the brakes are the Achilles heel, had the rotors resurfaced twice so far. After the 60000 mile service, rear brakes replaced and new pads. Now no problems. Only replaced the battery and have done normal maintenance up to this point (76000 miles). Interior is simple laid out and the seat cloth ages well. Four cylinder has plenty of power and we average about 25mph in mixed driving, 32 on the highway. Very pleased with this car. So pleased that we bought another Honda product, Acura TL used this month.

  • Might as well call it a tank continued - 1997 Honda Accord

I wrote a review when my car was running great. But the truth is if you treat this car great it will return the favor. At around 150k my ignition got loose causing the car to shut off when Im driving. At one point I couldnt go anywhere without holding my key so the car wouldnt turn off. I havent driven it in a long time and just started it up (holding the key in place) and it drove like a champ still. Need to replace the valve cover gasket battery and the alternator maybe a tune up also. But that is it - the best purchase I have ever made. The window motors are horrible but thats it. Like I said you cannot break these things even if you try. Buy this car you wont be disappointed.

  • Honda keeps getting better! - 2007 Honda Accord

Just turned in my 03 Accord EX-L for 07 SE-V-6.Loved the 03 but this car is even better. Quiet, smooth, powerful, excellent handling, and great looking. This SE model is the greatest bargain on the new car market. Check out all its features. Drove Camary, Altima, Impala--they couldnt come close. Honda offering great deals on the vehicle. Safety rated 5 stars.

  • Would do it all over again! - 2004 Honda Accord

Thought you may be interested in a review from someone who has owned this car for 6 yrs. Just turned 204,000 miles. Only problem was the radio that was replaced by Honda. Replaced the alternator at 190,000 miles. Other than that, just normal maintenance. Lots of highway driving, getting 30 to 32 mpg. Brakes last far longer than any other car Ive owned. Cant believe the car still runs so well. I keep asking my service man (independent) when the car might die and he keeps saying not anytime soon. The 4 cylinder doesnt have the initial burst that you would like, but the low cost of maintenence and the reliability more than make up for it. Would highly recommend this car.
