This Year's Model Updates:

As the model was fully redesigned for the 2003 model year, there are only a few changes on the 2004 Honda Accord. Availability of side curtain airbags has been expanded this year to four-cylinder EX models -- standard on those with leather, optional on cars with a cloth interior. All four- and six-cylinder EX models equipped with a leather interior now have XM Satellite Radio with three months of free service as standard equipment. And as with all Honda cars this year, a new seatbelt reminder system is standard. Accord models meeting California's stringent Partial Zero Emissions Vehicle (PZEV) standards -- all four-cylinder sedans equipped with automatic transmission -- will also be sold in the states of New York, Maine, Vermont and Massachusetts.

Pros:
  • Tight build quality, quiet cabin, refined and powerful engines, reputation for quality and durability, high crash test scores.
Cons:

  • Accord experience is worth every penny. - 2004 Honda Accord

Hi all, After months and month of research finally purchased my car -- This Accord EX w/leather 5m is beyond words. It has everything you could ask for, from leather which hugs you to a beautiful and well set out dash. Picked it up yesterday and so far I have no complaints. The ride is comfortable, build quality is excellent. The manual trans is smooth and so is the clutch. Got a great deal, paid 21,800 for a Graphite Pearl EX-L 4cyl 5M. I would recommend this car for all, just seems as though Ive purchased a luxury sedan. Now if only the HID/Xenon was an option

The new Accord has better built quality than my previous tinny 2000 Accord. The door are solid and the interior is quiet. Problem is you can hear MORE rattles inside the cabin. I also dont like the slow downshifting of the autobox, which always gets to top gear/ OD ASAP even at very low speed. Engine feels more powerful with the air-con on. Suspension is a little stiff and again doesnt help the rattles. Interior fit not up to par, Honda!

We went from a 91 Maxima - about same horsepower and weight. Maxima will blow the Honda away but is V6 vs. 4 cyl. Honda rides a little rougher but it handles better especially in corders. Love the leather but seat belts seem to chew up the trim when you retract or extend them. Awkward to reach between headrest and door post. Front doors do not seem to stay open at a reasonable position. Either too narrow or too wide. Comfotable and roomy. At first power seemed a little weak but it came alive at about 3,000 miles-not that we drive like they do on TV. I would buy another one.

I went with the Accord EX V6 sedan with leather after finding an incredible price over the internet with this dealership. The woman whom I corresponded with was a delight as well. The car took some getting used to, as visibility is not too good with blind spots in the rear and front right. With all the luxury features, I was disappointed that it didnt have heated rearview mirrors. Have had a small spot of dash around radio flake off, but other than that, no interior problems, no squeaks or rattles at all. Brakes are grabby and warning squeak has started after only 12000 miles. Ride is stiff and you feel each crack in the road. Its not a soft ride, if thats what you prefer. A quality car.

  • 2004 Honda Accord Ex-V6 - 2004 Honda Accord

Purchased 2004 Honda Accord Ex-V6 new due to internet reviews. 1st Honda ever purchased. Worst car I have ever owned for road noise. Dealer worked road noise problem, but unable to correct road noise problem. 40,000 miles on car, started hearing pecking/knocking noise in engine. Honda dealer informed me that noise was #6 piston? Honda dealer explanation of piston noise was engine block might have out of tolerance machining during manufacturing and would cost $1300.00 for an inspection to verify. A 2nd independent certified mechanic opinion confirmed engine noise as #6 piston & not uncommon in Hondas. Not pleased with Honda quality or Honda customer support. First & last Honda I will own!

This is my 2nd Accord that I have purchased. My first was a 94 Accord, I put 275 thousand miles within 8-10 years. So I figured that Hondas must really be some good cars, b/c I had NO PROBLEMS at all out of it, I just got rid of it due to high mileage. So I traded it in and got an 04 Accord Coupe, ex V6, got around 53,000 miles, and so far, my moonroof has had to be replaced, brakes went out, and so did my transmission, while in traffic, as soon as I picked it up from the Honda dealer, realized that my motor mounts was bad and they had to get replaced as well. Just hate that everyone in my family drives Hondas and this particular one that I have has caused me soo much trouble.

  • This car is INSANE! - 2004 Honda Accord

Bought the car from a freind of my brother at a Chicag dealership and just drove it back home to Boston. A 1,000-mile drive is a pretty good crash course in what a car is like. I considered them all, but this car is INSANE! The power of the 3.0L V6 is just beyond words. The design and attention to detail is a cut above whatevers #2 in this class. This car is an Acura in all but name. I got it in white with the tan interior. People ooh and ahh when they see it. Shes a beauty.

  • Great Car...lacks features - 2004 Honda Accord

Honda needs to add improvements before competitors catch up with all their standard features. An EX should have many features regardless if its EX EXL or EXV6. The V6 is way too pricey but when compared toa camry xle 4 cyl. (which has more useful features than the accord) the camry is a lot more less pricewise, but id have to admit. it sucks driving it. so kudos to honda for making a great machine that only sips fuel, but features are a little lackluster. Cmon they need those gassy support hydraulic hood things, those manual rods can get really dangerous...its an EX HONDA!!! it needs better thoguht to other details as well.

  • Excellent Vehicle! - 2004 Honda Accord

If I were to write a detailed review... I would go on for days. This machine is at the top of its class. It is stylish, comfortable and sporty at an extremely affordable price tag. The interior is roomy with plenty of leg and head room for both driver and passengers. The car looks beautiful from the outside. The driving is amazing. I have a 4 cylinder engine, but it provides me with more than enough speed and power for driving in the city and on the highway. This car is a must have for people who like to be pampered, but do not have the budget to get a BMW or Mercedez.
