This Year's Model Updates:

Honda takes a bold leap for 2005 with the introduction of the Hybrid Accord. Rather than add a hybrid motor to its four-cylinder, Honda bolts its third-generation IMA system to the Accord's already-potent V6. In one fell swoop the Accord hybrid has become the class leader in fuel economy (30 city, 38 highway) and power (255 horsepower). Other changes for the 2005 Honda Accord this year include new wheel cover designs for the LX and EX trims, a new coin pocket design, illuminated steering wheel controls and improved rear styling in sedans with redesigned taillamps. In addition, front-seat side airbags and full-length head curtain airbags are now available on all trim levels all the way down to the base DX model.

  • Honda Accord - I love mine - 2005 Honda Accord

This car made me a more comfortable driver. I am no longer scared of not finding my way. The GPS is a great help and I totally reccomend it for anyone who is geographicly disabled. The car is comfortable and easy to care for. It has all of the expensive features, and not too expensive to fill up at the gas pump. I think there is a new hybrid for this car if one is looking for more fuel economy.

Up to 45 mpg hwy, 35 city. If you drive it like a maniac, youll get poor mileage like any other car. If you drive more conservatively, youll get better mileage like any other car, its all relative. Overall, were getting about 30 mpg, mostly city, but I can go more than 600 miles on a 17- gallon tank on pure hwy miles. In cold weather it does take a few miles for the electric motor to warm up. Very comfortable and reliable.

I owned the 2005 Accord EX-L 2.4L 4cyl for exactly two years. Then I took a direct hit in the drivers door from an SUV going 40-50+ mph - and walked away on a cane three days later! Not many sedan car owners can say that!! I have only 2 hairline fractures in my pelvis, which should heal in 6 to 12 weeks. Im definitely buying another Accord. I also had this vehicle on three New England trips of 3,000 to 5,000 miles each. Very comfortable ride, easy handling. The leather and dual climate controls preempted those temp-related spousal fights so its worth the extra $1,000 in price.

Effects of braking took awhile to get use to. Car used in heavy traffic, averages about 27 mpg. Can get 33 mpg on straight hwy. 6 cyl can drink gas depending on driving habits. Great car.

  • Overall Great Car - 2005 Honda Accord

Ive had this car for (3) months and 12K miles. Leather seats and interior ergonomics are excellent. Gas mileage has averaged 35 with mostly highway and rural road driving. Manual transmission is effortless in forward gears. Reverse is sometimes difficult getting into gear.

  • Good car for the money - 2005 Honda Accord

The engine performance is great; upgraded from a 1999 Honda Accord 4cyl LX; the Special Edition added features that made it a done deal. One annoyance though: I had to pull the glovebox light bulb out, because the light is on automatically with the headlights, so light was shining out of the cracks of the glovebox door at night... no switch to turn it off when the glovebox door is closed.. :(

  • V6 Power; V4 MPG - 2005 Honda Accord

This was an impulse buy -- was getting my 03 Accord LX serviced, saw this car on display, smelled the leather and was sold. Am averaging about 35 mpg -- heres how I do it: When the green "eco" light comes on at the desired speed, I hit "cruise" and stay there. Im trying to get rid of a heavy foot. If you want to drive this like the performance sedan it is, hitting on all 6 cylinders, youre going to see lower mileage. Its that simple. Dont drive like a nut, and youll be rewarded. This is truly a great car; Ive been driving Accords for almost 20 years and this is the best by far. Trust me.

This is my 2nd Accord and it was not a tough decision to come back! Cannot find a better value for all the features you get. Heated seats have been great now that its cold, Navi is great for directions, XM rocks on long trips, and dual air means no more fights over temperature! Great car, solid build!

Nice quiet ride. Loads of interior space. Great color choices. The V6 is exceptionally smooth. Great price for a great car.

For a Hybrid, this cars acceleration matchs that of any sport touring sedan in its price range. It is quiet and comfortable to drive. When the engine shuts down at a stop light takes some getting use to. The engine start up as you accelerate from a light is an item Honda needs to smooth out. Braking with a "Auto Stop" engine is another task a driver needs to adjust to. So far the gas mileage is 32mpg with a total of 1,500 miles driven. In California with gas at $2.50 per gallon expect to pay a $2,000 to $3,000 premium (Dealer Mark Up) on the vehicle.
