Overview & Reviews
Few vehicles from overseas manufacturers have garnered as much respect in North America as the Honda Accord. It hasn't achieved this status by being glamorous, sexy or thrilling. Instead, Honda just seems to have its finger on the pulse of what Americans value most. Take an Accord for a spin and you'll find it to be comfortable, roomy, intelligently engineered and easy to drive. It's also backed by strong resale value and a solid reputation for reliability.
You'll find that certain competing sedans and coupes are quicker, more prestigious or simply less expensive than the Accord. What's special about the Honda Accord, though, is its completeness. It scores well across a broader range of categories than practically any family-friendly sedan or coupe on the market. When examined from this holistic standpoint, it's easy to see why the Accord has become an automotive icon and remains one of our editors' top recommendations.

1990 Honda Civic DX - 1990 Honda Accord
By Jeffersbug - July 27 - 3:00 pmI bought my 1990 Accord DX used in 2008. It seemed like a great deal considering it only had 68K. Only serious problem is I need to add a quart of oil every 300 miles. Ive been to three mechanics and nobody can seem to find the cause. Been able to drive it 16,000 miles already without the problem getting worse. Other than that it runs great. The trunk does leak when it rains.

Always a Honda - 2006 Honda Accord
By Parish - July 27 - 12:26 pmWith the exception of a "between cars car" I have always driven an Accord and the newest model is yet another example of why this is one of the top 3 selling cars in America. Design, quality, reliability - all top notch. Very smooth ride that will run forever at a price most families can afford.

Simply Reliable - 1991 Honda Accord
By D Himes - July 25 - 10:25 pmPurchased brand new in 1991 and to date still driving with 291,000 miles. Simply a dependable and quality car all the way around. Handles the road very well and still has great power. Hondas are simply great cars.

Several problems - 2000 Honda Accord
By Lori - July 23 - 1:01 pmWe bought this car in hopes of keeping it "forever". Now at 85,000 Ive had to have the transmission replaced (this week)- seems a little too soon for that! Honda did cover 50% of the cost because of the low mileage (they call it Goodwill). The alternator had to be replaced in 2006 (very expensive). The ECM for emissions had to be replaced in 2003 (under warranty). The climate control motor assembly had to be replaced in 2007. The CD player stopped working and the radio had to be replaced in 2004 (Honda covered that). All in all, I guess its been a good car- its never left me stranded- but I think the things that have gone wrong are excessive considering the low miles.

Bearing Down - 1999 Honda Accord
By yikes - July 23 - 10:00 amOverall results are good except for the alternater that went at 42ooo miles- I was told it was a Delco part and that they were having problems with them. I am also having problems with rear wheel bearings. Both sides went bad at about 39000 miles and were replaced by Honda, who told me I would not have any future problems. Eleven months later and less than 12000 miles the right rear was again replaced and I can start to hear the left rear making noice. Any one else having these problems?

Transmission blew after only 70,000 - 2000 Honda Accord
By KELLY - July 22 - 7:59 pmI absolutely love this car - it drives great, nice looking. I bought it used at 12,000 miles. I now have 71,000 miles and I need a new transmission. 2500.00 this is unbelievable! I am so bummed. I cannot afford another car or even this trans. but I am doing it. Aamco is doing the work and said they have had 1999 and 2000 Hondas needing new trans. I think this should be a recall, especially since I only have 70,0000.

Runs Like A Top - 2005 Honda Accord
By Jim W - July 21 - 3:32 pmMy wife and I were seeking something to drive together (comfortably) on longer trips. After looking around a little we found the Accord. This car has been amazing. A nice, smooth and quiet ride in a reliable vehicle is what we were looking for and is what we got. We used to dread packing things into the old car in order to take a day trip. Now we look forward to it.
