This Year's Model Updates:

Following a complete redesign last year, the 2009 Honda Accord carries over unchanged, though the V6's official engine output is up a smidge after further testing revealed slightly more power than previously measured.

Pros:
  • Ample passenger space, high-quality interior, above-average steering feel, high resale value, available coupe body style.
Cons:
  • Intrusive road noise, button-heavy center stack, some find seats uncomfortable.

  • Good car but with issues - 2009 Honda Accord

Enjoyable car to drive overall BUT: Overkill driver side lumbar pushing on back. Auto shifts pretty jerky in lower gears. 4 cyl versions have flickering headlights whenever a/c used. BRAKES!!! Im an EZ driver and well just google 2008, 2009 brake problems and youll see for yourself.

After months of looking found blk/blk 2009 accord coupe. Love it. Im the type that researches and test drives lots of vehicles prior to purchase. This car fit my needs: comfortable, safe, stylish, affordable, and quality build. No car has everything otherwise we would all be driving "that" car. The EX is good value but I think the EX-L in the 4 cylinder might be the apex of the group in terms of performance/value/style. The V6 is fast and will appeal to the enthusiast, but in my mind it would only get me a speeding ticket. The 190HP 4 banger is good once you get it above 3500 rpm. Below that accel is nothing to rave about. Buy this car in the EX-L: V4 for value; V6 for kicks.

  • Great car - 2009 Honda Accord

I had planned on buying used, but the new price was too good to pass up. With the $6000 off MSRP, I have a lot of car for the money. Great looking vehicle with most of the options I was looking for. Interior is classy. Have had the car three weeks, put on 2800 miles including one 1600 trip. Read the complaints about the firm seat. I had some concerns, but after the 1600 miles had no aches or pains, and I am not young. I think it is a great seat. I have been very pleased with the MPG. 27.7 MPG at 78 MPH. 23 MPG around town. Just have to watch jack rabbit starts.

  • Excellent for the Money - 2009 Honda Accord

I had a 2006 VW Passat and I loved it. 75000 miles in just 2 years... Commuting to work 165 every day. I looked for another Passat and WOW! The minimum sales tag was 28,000 bucks.. No way! Then I start to look into something more affordable and I found the new Accord. My wife has a Odyssey and we both love it. No problems at all, meaning none! So, I went for Honda blind bet and until now was a good decision, especially for the money. There is no car available for 21,000 with all those features. You want a better car? Prepare to spend more. Nissan Altima is a good competitor but no need to mention resale value. Happy but is not the Audi A4 I dream with.

  • Love it. - 2009 Honda Accord

I bought this car earlier this month and absolutely love it. I did a LOT of research on 2009 sedans (including Camry, Accord, Jetta, and Altima) before deciding on the Accord. The Accord is top-notch As soon as you get in it you feel like you are sitting in a luxury car that should be much more expensive than a Honda. And performance is great! I am very pleased with the car...except for 1 thing---the headlights dim just a bit about every 15-20 seconds when the AC is on. The only reason I noticed it was because I was looking for it (I had read about it in some of the reviews). However, this is not a big enough problem to keep me from loving my car!! Hondas reliability is excellent.

  • Horrible seats & lousy transmission - 2009 Honda Accord
    By -

Bought a new Accord 9 months ago. Would not buy again. I have chronic back pain since driving the accord; didnt have problem with my Odyssey. (doesnt happen to my husband, but it kills me). Took a long time to figure out the cause. Within 15 minutes of sitting in the Accord, my back flares up. Doesnt matter if its the driver side/passenger. Transmission stinks: doesnt shift at the right spots, will tach up to 5 getting on the highway. Feels like I have Fred Flintstone feet under the car. Wish I knew before buying it how disappointing it is.

  • Shouldnt need to "get used" to seats - 2009 Honda Accord
    By -

The seats (EX-L coupe) are simply awful for both me and my passenger. I get back pain, and my passenger gets neck pain from the head restraint. None of this was apparent on the test drive. Takes about 45 mins. or an hour to kick in. I have never had this experience in over 35 years of car ownership! Also dont like rear visibility. Cant see objects in rear quarter, and hard to tell where the rear bumper is in parking. Finally, low end torque with 190 Hp is still sub-par. On paper (and test drive) this is a fine car. Have owned two other Hondas with no problems. Unfortunately I let that sway my purchase. Am considering trading in for something else, with only 1100 miles.

  • Honda Accord EXL - 2009 Honda Accord
    By -

This is our third Honda Accord. We had a 1993 LX and a 1999 EXL. This 2008 Honda is the best yet! The overall interior space is big enough for 4 passengers, and the EXL Leather Interior has the same build quality as our $55,000 Lexus. The 4 cylinder is peppy, and never seems under-powered. You could spend a lot more for a car; but why?

  • 09 Accord Coupe V6 6 Speed /Navi - 2009 Honda Accord
    By -

After lots of searching and test drives (Acura TL & TSX, and BMW 3), I ordered a 2009 Accord Coupe EX-L V6 6 Speed Manual with Navigation. I wanted the unbelievably gorgeous Belize Blue Pearl and thus the order. Car is everything I expected. The V6 6 Speed combination is a blast. The interior controls are EASY despite the reviews. The car drives and handles almost as well as a BMW 3 series coupe for $20k less. I think it looks better too. I have been stopped in parking lots and asked "who makes that?" & "is that really a Honda?" The Blue pearl paint simply glows.

  • Very good car but.... - 2009 Honda Accord
    By -

Good acceleration, smooth transmission, lots of value for the money. Sharp looks in Basque Red Pearl/Beige interior with pinstripe. Car rides very nice and has high quality built into it. This is a very good car but I find the seat to be very hard and uncomfortable for trips over 45 minutes. The road noise is somewhat noticeable but not overly intrusive.
