Model Overview:

Few vehicles from overseas manufacturers have garnered as much respect in North America as the Honda Accord. It hasn't achieved this status by being glamorous, sexy or thrilling. Instead, Honda just seems to have its finger on the pulse of what Americans value most. Take an Accord for a spin and you'll find it to be comfortable, roomy, intelligently engineered and easy to drive. It's also backed by strong resale value and a solid reputation for reliability.

You'll find that certain competing sedans and coupes are quicker, more prestigious or simply less expensive than the Accord. What's special about the Honda Accord, though, is its completeness. It scores well across a broader range of categories than practically any family-friendly sedan or coupe on the market. When examined from this holistic standpoint, it's easy to see why the Accord has become an automotive icon and remains one of our editors' top recommendations.

  • My favorite car EVER, and Ive had quite a few - 2004 Honda Accord
    By -

My first car was a 1981 Accord coupe. Later a Civic, then a Prelude, Another Accord Coupe (all were manual transmissions). This EX is an automatic. Luxurious, comfortable, fast with the V-6, and has only required normal maintenance aside from a power steering pump/hose (recall), starter, a couple of belts and tires. At 11-yrs-old and 96000 miles, it is still our chosen "road trip" car, although our other car is newer. Huge trunk, back seats that fold down, you cant beat it. I bought it at 3-yrs old from a friend and still just love driving it. Close to needing the brake pads and timing belt replaced, but so what! Drove a Saab for 3 years in the middle, and after all the breakdowns, sold it and went back to Honda.

  • Ridiculously Dissapointing - 2010 Honda Accord
    By -

I am a first time Honda buyer. Purchased this vehicle with the knowledge that I commute 100 miles a day. Wanted something large enough to contain passengers comfortably and was reliable and going to give me a decent amount of years before needing to purchase a new vehicle. I have had nothing but problems from about 20k miles. It has had several "safety bulletins", basically Honda recognizes there is an issue and doesnt fix the problem until you are in the dealer complaining or broke down and have been towed in. I have broken down 7 times in the last 5 years, 4 times in the last 2 years since getting a new engine. I was breaking down on the freeway about 2x a year, everything was blamed on oil consumption after several fixes and "safety bulletin" fixes Honda agreed to replace my small block since I had purchased the extended warranty. Since receiving by new small block I have been stranded or limped my vehicle to the dealer 4x from a busy metropolitan freeway in the bay area and still received an oil consumption explanation. At one point I was told that I needed to be checking the oil in my 2 year old vehicle every time I pumped gas, umm NO I am not making a payment on a new vehicle to treat it like a 1970 Nova. Im now at 100k miles and am still breaking down. I know have unexplained engine issues that the codes will not translate. I feel like I am the one in a million people that hate Honda and have had a horrible experience. I am convinced it has to do with the fact that I got the V6 instead just the basic 4cylinder!

  • Poorly redesigned - 2015 Honda Accord
    By -

The redesign of the 2015 Accord is poorly done. Seats are extremely uncomfortable, dashboard is poorly planned out, doors are awkward and heavy to open. The exterior design looks like a box and it has poor maneuverability. The steering wheel has that infernal Bluetooth poorly located. Every time I put my hands on the wheel the Bluetooth comes up. Very poor positioning.

  • Hondillac - 1997 Honda Accord
    By -

I have owned my used 1997 Honda Accord EX-V6 since April 2010. I LOVE MY CAR!! I actually owned a 2002 Honda Accord Coupe, loaded 5-speed stick but a 4-cylinder engine. The power between the two is astonishing!! My V6 is powerful even though its 18 years old!! It has a smooth ride and everything still works air conditioning, power windows, sunroof, etc,. DonÂ’t get me wrong, Ive put money in this car but it has been the greatest car Ive ever owned. This model year quality cannot be beat!! Yes, I own a Honda-Cadillac my Hondillac!!! IÂ’M IN LOVE WITH MY CAR!!!

  • Dont Buy - 2012 Honda Accord
    By -

I have a 2012 Honda Accord ex 4 cyl. It hesitates when pulling out and when changing gears. Its still under warranty and Im having to go through a consumption test on the oil because its using so much oil. I had a Honda Accord LX 2000 V6 that I wish I still had it was a great car. I decided against leather interior and went with fabric. The interior is a dark black plush fabric and is a total nightmare to clean and to try to keep clean. I wish I had never purchased this car. Also the seats are not comfortable.

  • Great Car Overall - 2008 Honda Accord
    By -

I purchased my Honda as a more affordable alternative to an Audi A5 and BMW 3 (now 4)Series coupe. The exterior of this car is sharp (especially in the Belize Blue Pearl). The exterior design has aged very well. The interior design has aged very well and I find the button layout to be very logical. I was surprised to see so much hard plastic on the dash at this price range ($30k +), but visually it looks good. The car has way too much road noise however. The car has a taunt but comfortable ride, which gives it a sporty premium feel I like. The engine has tons of power once your hit 3000 rpm, but below that its pretty gutless. Fuel economy is right in line with EPA estimates.

  • Our 4th and last Accord Coupe, and our last Honda - 2009 Honda Accord
    By -

We have owned 4 Accord Coupes starting in 1999. All purchased new and each new model has been progressively worse, in quiet , comfort and reliability. I am fastidious about car maintenance and the detail of maintenance of this Accord has been excellent. The car is noisey and has rattles . The braking system has been nothing short of unreliable. All brakes and rotors have been replaced 2x and now it appears as if we must replace a brake caliper... it is locking up on us after short trips. We have also replaced wheel bearings and have had an on going oil problem. This oil problem is related to the same issues that prompted the class action suit.

  • Could be better - 2015 Honda Accord
    By -

Im not very happy with the Honda Accord. Below are my issues

  • The car is just amazing!! - 2013 Honda Accord
    By -

Ive purchased this car used with 21k on it and so far Ive made it to 32k without any single issue. The car drives awesome, the CVT needs to get used to, and it becomes just fun and awesome to drive. My only concern is the noise that comes from the dash sometimes. Also, the car is a wide car for a person who came from a small Honda Civic, so I suggest to be very careful driving at the first time until u get adjusted to the size of the car, I already had 2 major scratches on the paint. Other than that, the car is great! LOVE IT

  • Owned many Hondas, second Accord - 2008 Honda Accord
    By -

Purchased my 2008 Accord EX-L sedan, 4-cyl, 5-speed automatic new in March 2008. It now has 130,000 miles on it and has been just a reliable as the 2002 Accord EX I had previously. Had the rear brakes replaced with the "new" Honda brake pads and have not had any issues. While it is not the perfect car, it has been very reliable, just like the 2002 was before. Had the complete service done at 105,000 miles and it runs like new. Not the quietest car, but the right tires make all the difference when it comes to road noise. I cannot justify replacing it, it runs too well.
