Model Overview:

Few vehicles from overseas manufacturers have garnered as much respect in North America as the Honda Accord. It hasn't achieved this status by being glamorous, sexy or thrilling. Instead, Honda just seems to have its finger on the pulse of what Americans value most. Take an Accord for a spin and you'll find it to be comfortable, roomy, intelligently engineered and easy to drive. It's also backed by strong resale value and a solid reputation for reliability.

You'll find that certain competing sedans and coupes are quicker, more prestigious or simply less expensive than the Accord. What's special about the Honda Accord, though, is its completeness. It scores well across a broader range of categories than practically any family-friendly sedan or coupe on the market. When examined from this holistic standpoint, it's easy to see why the Accord has become an automotive icon and remains one of our editors' top recommendations.

  • Not as good as others - 1997 Honda Accord

got it from a private party with 85,000 miles on it. The trans is jerking in the "slow & go" situation. Wont happen when its " Stop & go". Thats why I didnt find out at the test drive. I have been a Toyota fan for more than 8 years, their trans just smooth like silk. Been to shop (not dealer), they told trans jerk on high mileage Accord are very common. No solution unless change a used one-$1,200. Also, many of the repair cost are higher than Toyota. it does have one advantage: its timing belt need to replace every 90,000 miles, not 60,000.

  • Very nice car - 2009 Honda Accord

I waited till I had about 1,500 miles on my car before evaluating it, and I can say, it is still my favorite car that Ive ever owned. I had a 1994 Integra before this, and this is worlds apart in comfort, ride, noise (lack of), and style. It doesnt corner like a 2700 pound integra, but it still handles better than most 3500 pound cars. I got a manual, and its the smoothest one Ive ever used. I was surprised to find that the gear ratios for the manual are similar to the automatic, so theres not much difference in performance. The only "fit and finish" problem I have is the trunk lid is little lower on one side.

  • Disappointing - 2003 Honda Accord

Purchased an Accord because of the famed reliability, but over the two years of ownership have found issues constantly creep up, often repeating, even after taking to the dealer to be addressed. Its a fun ride, spacious, and fuel efficient, but the annoyance of sometimes monthly visits to the shop have significantly reduced my trust in the product. Am far less likely to buy a Honda in the future Toyotas quality seems much higher now.

The car has visited the dealer at least 2 times a month from a faulty leather to the oxegen sensor to the cat converter. i have had to have the keys reprogamed twice and the cars have faulty alignment that creats uneven wear in the tires. this is in fact the worst new car experice by far

BOUGHT A NIGHTHAWK BLACK 02 ACCORD 4 CYCL. 1ST OWN BRAND NEW CAR. ONLY HAD 17K ON IT. RUNS GREAT ON HIGHWAYS AND CITIES. SMOOTH TRANSMISSION. GREAT EXTERIOR AND INTERIOR DESIGN. LOVE THE STEERING WHEEL VOLUME AT THE FINGER TIP. AC IS GREAT. STEREO SOUND WITH 6 CD/CASSETTE IS BETTER THAN MOST OUT THERE. GAS MILEAGE IS GREAT! GREAT SERVICE AT FAMILY HONDA. BLACK EXTERIOR COLOR SHOWS EVEN THE SLIGHTEST SCRATCH AS A RESULT NEED TO WASH 2X A MONTH. AFTERMARKET PARTS ARE EASY TO FIND.

  • Love my car - 2008 Honda Accord

After owning a Honda Accord EX (totaled), Volkswagen Passat wagon (engine water damage), and Mazda c-x7 (trade-in) I had to go back to the Honda the gas mileage cant be beat. Love the smooth 5-speed manual and adore the quiet ride. I can also fit three car seats in the back which was the reason I was able to go back the the Honda family.

  • Good car for the money - 2012 Honda Accord

I have put 78k trouble free miles on this car since I bought it brand new. I do my own engine oil and transmission oil changes. I live in a hilly area so I put new rear brakes on at about 65k miles. One of the tires had sidewall damage so l replaced them at 75k miles. The tires still had tread left. The car handles well, but the suspension is firm so if you drive on bumpy roads it will give a rough ride. The four cylinder engine is smooth and quiet in every day driving, but will accelerate hard if you put your foot to the floor. This is the last year of the five speed automatic transmmission. I like the firm seat foam but the fabric could be better quality. I get 35 mpg going 70 mph on long trips, and I get 25-27 in town. I did make a 5 hour trip on state routes with a 55 mph speed limit and I got 42 mpg! This car looks good and is a great value. Comfortable for four adults. It has a huge trunk.
