Overview & Reviews
Few vehicles from overseas manufacturers have garnered as much respect in North America as the Honda Accord. It hasn't achieved this status by being glamorous, sexy or thrilling. Instead, Honda just seems to have its finger on the pulse of what Americans value most. Take an Accord for a spin and you'll find it to be comfortable, roomy, intelligently engineered and easy to drive. It's also backed by strong resale value and a solid reputation for reliability.
You'll find that certain competing sedans and coupes are quicker, more prestigious or simply less expensive than the Accord. What's special about the Honda Accord, though, is its completeness. It scores well across a broader range of categories than practically any family-friendly sedan or coupe on the market. When examined from this holistic standpoint, it's easy to see why the Accord has become an automotive icon and remains one of our editors' top recommendations.

Do Not Buy A Honda - 2007 Honda Accord
By Tanya - October 28 - 7:27 amI am on my 4th Honda. Where did the quality go? My back brakes went out at 16,000 miles (and I am not hard on brakes!). I called Honda and they said they KNOW there is an issue with their back brakes, and they are "investigating" it and dont know when that will be completed-and that I am out of luck. They MAY at some point reimburse me for the expense of getting them fixed. It used to be that Honda offered great customer service and reliability, but apparently not anymore. I will buy a Toyota for next car. They know there is a brake issue and are not fixing it? A big NO-NO in my book!

An ex Ford Taurus Owner - 2003 Honda Accord
By Steve48 - October 28 - 3:23 amA traveling salesman by trade, my first Honda Accord has been a very good purchase. This review should touch on my previous experience buying Ford Taurus as the previous cars uded for the last ten years. All I can say after many painful years buying and fixing Ford products I can not believe it took me so long so finally buy the Honda. I just hit 100,000 miles on my 2003 Accord Lx with no trouble what so ever. I performed the standard maintenance items and drove the car this long with no troulble what so ever. If this was my last two years typically I would get maybe 36 to 40 thousand miles before serious trouble with Transmissions or electric problems would occur. I will buy another Accord

Useless Warranty - 2001 Honda Accord
By jspreitz - October 28 - 2:00 amHondas warranty is not worth the paper that it is written on. My problem is with the fog lamps which are a dealer- installed option. Both lenses cracked twice and Honda is telling me that it is because some debris hit them. Thats 4 lenses in a 20 month period and theyre telling me that the part is not defective. Also, Honda issued a Technical Service Bulletin which admits that this as a problem with a defective part. Regardless, they want to charge me in excess of $350 to replace what is obviously an situation covered under the warranty. I am pursuing this with the Attorney Generals office.

a great decision - 2002 Honda Accord
By robert kotas - October 28 - 2:00 amI was wavering between Nissan Altima and Honda Accord. I am very happy about buying the Accord, as the car is built very well. Absolutely no problems after 8000 miles. I am happy about the V6, as the 4 cylinder engine feels so weak comparatively. I average 20 mpg in the city.

The best of the best! - 2003 Honda Accord
By E Alan - October 28 - 2:00 amWe own three Honda now. A 1992 Accord EX, 2001 Odyssey EX and now the 2003 Accord V6 EX. After having the this car 5 months now I still can not beleave how much fun it is to drive. In fact I have 13,000 miles already. That with 29 MPG average, I just can not wait to go no my next trip. I have had some very minor problems, but Honda has fixed them all.

Good quality car in its class - 1998 Honda Accord
By jjyjj - October 28 - 2:00 amIn general, after little over 5 years of purchase, Im very satisfied with this car. The engine power is still there with no problems at all. Noises while driving is almost same as when first purchased. I was going to trade- in for another car when paid-off, but I decided to keep it for another couple of more years, then trade-in with another Honda or Acura.

2014 Accord Sport Strut Problem - 2014 Honda Accord
By Dan - October 27 - 10:03 amI dont normally write negative reviews but this will be an exception. There are three things that are less than expected for a car that has the reputation that Honda has. First the road noise was a lot louder than it should be, but being a sport model might be the reason for that. Second the radio reception is the worst that Ive ever had in a car. Third I had to have the drivers side rear wheel bearing replaced at 12,523 miles then the passengers side rear wheel bearing replaced at 21,273 miles. This was done under the warrantee, but when I asked if there could be a reason for wheel bearings to fail with such low mileage, I was told that they were just defective. They were replaced at no charge to me so I didnt think any more about it. After returning from a driving vacation my wife and I heard the familiar roar of worn wheel bearings so I took it to the dealer again to have it fixed again. The car only has 26,000 miles on it. I was told that it was not the bearings this time but the rear tires were "cupped" because of being out of alignment. I asked how bad it was because the car doesnt pull one way or the other. They checked and found that it was not out of alignment (I have the readout) on their own machine but they still said it was out and needed new tires and an alignment. I went to the tire dealer (not sure if I should use company names but this is a well-respected national chain). They told me that "cupped tires are not an alignment issue and that my struts were "shot". They said thats what causes tires to "cup" or "chop". I talked to several mechanics and researched this issue on the internet to find that the tire people were right. As a reference in this case, I had my tires checked for alignment and again found that they were good. I approached the car dealers service department about my findings and asked if the struts were covered under the warrantee. They said yes if they were bad, but they said they were not bad because they werent leaking and would not replace them. I called Honda America to see if they would help me with this. Their policy is to not accept "third party" solutions to problems. To make a long story a little shorter, Honda will not stand behind this problem. Having new struts installed would cost over $725.00 just for the rear struts plus to replacement tires to match the one that are on the front of the car would cost over $600.00 plus a four wheel alignment $100.00. Hondas recommendation was to replace the two rear tires and get an alignment. After the research and recommendations of several mechanics, that would be a waste of time and money as the cupping problem would continue and I would see the same problem in another 20,000 to 25,000 miles, wearing out tires in half their lifetime. So even Hondas have problems and if there is a way Honda can get out of fixing the problem under warrantee, they will.

First Import Car - 1992 Honda Accord
By Pittsburgh Pa - October 26 - 1:27 pmI love my 1992 Honda Accord EX . I just purchased it, and had all fluids and tires changed. The ride is soft but firm, and the acceleration is outstanding. I am the second owner and it has been well cared for. I am sure I will have it for another 200 thousand miles as I see these cars never die. I parked next to a brand new car, and mine looked every bit as nice as the new car did. I am proud to have purchased a Honda.

Wonderful car - 2008 Honda Accord
By MP - October 25 - 4:06 amLast week I traded in my gas guzzling 06 Ford Explorer and was searching for something A LOT better on gas which was the 4 cyl Accord. Gas mileage is fantastic especially going from a V8 SUV to a 4 cylinder sedan (which by the way didnt think was going to have enough power and was wrong). Love the styling of the car inside and out, and I just had the windows tinted which make the car look even better. I really like the taillights and plan on putting a set of HIDs in soon to really set the care off. Definitely recommended
