Model Overview:

Few vehicles from overseas manufacturers have garnered as much respect in North America as the Honda Accord. It hasn't achieved this status by being glamorous, sexy or thrilling. Instead, Honda just seems to have its finger on the pulse of what Americans value most. Take an Accord for a spin and you'll find it to be comfortable, roomy, intelligently engineered and easy to drive. It's also backed by strong resale value and a solid reputation for reliability.

You'll find that certain competing sedans and coupes are quicker, more prestigious or simply less expensive than the Accord. What's special about the Honda Accord, though, is its completeness. It scores well across a broader range of categories than practically any family-friendly sedan or coupe on the market. When examined from this holistic standpoint, it's easy to see why the Accord has become an automotive icon and remains one of our editors' top recommendations.

Bought the car new in 03...racked up 156k miles since. Overall a great car, minus a few issues. Reliability is great only issue was a radio display that went out after 100k-Honda paid half. Engine still runs as smooth as when I bought the car. Great acceleration for a 4-banger. The bad: the rattles in the dashboard have been an ongoing issue since the car was new. Sounds like a tap-dancing gerbil lives in my dashboard...seats are pretty stiff, too. Overall, a very good car, minus the rattles. Still getting about 32 mpg- mostly highway. No issues with the manual transmission.

Paid $20,500 before tax for LXP model. Great car, really comfortable and quiet. No problem so far. One complaint , I can never get to around 31 mpg on highway. The best I can get on the highway is around 27 mpg

Thus far its been a very dependable and trouble free car. Recall replaced rear brake pads at 27K. Front brakes lasted 90K. Only disappointment was center console trim vinyl bubbled up. Local upholstery shop for $65 upgraded it to leather. Had a 1996 Honda Accord Couple EX 2.2L 4AT that was still running strong at 250K when it was stolen. Best car I ever owned. Have the same expectation for this 2008. We will see.

  • Great car for the price - 2003 Honda Accord

Bought mine brand new for $21,000 out the door and very satisfied with the overall car. At 125,000 miles now, this car is rock solid and I commute with it daily. Oil change every 5,000 miles. So far the only major problem was the driver- side automatic door lock mechanism failed at about 105,000 mi which cost me about $600 to fix but thats because I used to keep pressing the unlock button on my key fob to blink the lights as I walk to the car, haha.

  • Honda should be ashamed! - 2002 Honda Accord

I bought this car a few years ago. It had almost 50k miles on it. A year later I had to replace the transmission. A good thing that I had a warranty. About 9 months later, the check engine light came on. Autozone says its a transmission problem. Take it to Aamco and they dont know what the problem is. In the last 3 months I have smelled transmission fluid burning. Im not paying Honda a dime for a diagnostic. Im just gonna buy something else. The sad part is that Honda knows this is a problem with this model. For some stupid reason, the class action lawsuit didnt cover this year Honda. I will never buy another Honda!

  • This my first car and I love it - 1997 Honda Accord

I love this car, it is so fun - it drives better than a Benz. The 4 cylinder is very fast and responsive. Great gas mileage. The only problems Ive had so far is the front axles had to be replaced and the starter and solenoid, thats about it. The ac stinks but I got sun roof so its all good and the seat belts are horrible they choke you but the seats are extremely comfy. Plus the trunk is very roomy. I once got three kids, two ice chests, 3 tents, 2 adults, a million blankets etc. and food in my car. Oh and tiki torches out the sun roof.

03 Honda Accord V6 4dr with Nav, Instrumental light on dash board, fuel economy, seat fit well on the hip the value of car, we fell in love and purchase it. Navigation is a must who dont like to ask anyone for direction and/or look at map and argue. Dislike: the carpet are coming off from molding, black clips behind passenger and driver seats comes off, dont know what its for, brakes coming downhill makes loud noise, air bag sensor light is on. On Navigation some of the building were 5years and older is not on the system. 2hours+ driving its not comfortable.

I have driven many other Accords/Civics that were great, had no issues and ran to over 100K. The 2003 Accord is the pits! I wont buy another. So many rattles on the front dash and annoyances that the dealers NEVER admit to hearing. They all deny hearing anything. Terrible customer service. Absolutely no fun to drive unless the music is blaring to block out the annoying rattles. I wont be buying another Honda again!
