Overview & Reviews
Few vehicles from overseas manufacturers have garnered as much respect in North America as the Honda Accord. It hasn't achieved this status by being glamorous, sexy or thrilling. Instead, Honda just seems to have its finger on the pulse of what Americans value most. Take an Accord for a spin and you'll find it to be comfortable, roomy, intelligently engineered and easy to drive. It's also backed by strong resale value and a solid reputation for reliability.
You'll find that certain competing sedans and coupes are quicker, more prestigious or simply less expensive than the Accord. What's special about the Honda Accord, though, is its completeness. It scores well across a broader range of categories than practically any family-friendly sedan or coupe on the market. When examined from this holistic standpoint, it's easy to see why the Accord has become an automotive icon and remains one of our editors' top recommendations.

Great reliable car - 1994 Honda Accord
By Mhsf - November 15 - 10:41 amThis has been a reliable, comfortable vehicle. Even through tough Minnesota weather--on some of the coldest days--it started right up and ran great. Wonderful car. Would get another just like it in a heartbeat.

Leaks and squeaks - 2005 Honda Accord
By DrivenMad - November 14 - 9:33 pmI thought this was my dream car but now I guess the honeymoon is over. I have put 600 very carful miles on this thing and already the rattles and squeaks are starting. A big let down was the tranny started leaking bright red fluid on my garage floor. I had believed that the previous years (98- 02) transmission problems would have been long gone but apparently not.

So Much for Honda Reliablity... - 2003 Honda Accord
By wkc112 - November 14 - 8:32 pmThis Honda is the second one Ive ever owned. And may be the last Ill ever own. I had an Acura before, worked beautifully. So I thought hey, lets buy an Accord. So very disappointed. After taking it to the local dealer and had them swap the wiper motor (factory recall) the LCD display for the clock/temp/cd info stopped working. Every time we hit a bump itd go in and out. Transmission is NO GOOD. Slips in 2nd and 3rd. And twice quit working all together on the Highway, so very dangerous when suddenly you just lose drive power all together. Dont look to customer service for help, nope, they wont do a thing for you. Car was under 100K miles. I mean come on.

This car is why I came back to honda - 1999 Honda Accord
By rainstorm - November 14 - 10:00 amMy first car was a 91 honda civic sedan. I thought the car was ok, until I leased a 98 toyota corolla. I did not like the way it handled and even though it had all the power options and sun-roof, I would have gladly traded back to my old civic. after a while I got used to the corolla, but when the lease was up I went straight back to Honda. I purchased a 99 Accord. It was like sitting in my favorite chair again. I love it. The power, the speed, the room, the trunk space, the compliments that I get when I get my oil changed (they think I do my own work on it too...I never open the hood)

High mileage - 1997 Honda Accord
By windshawne - November 13 - 9:41 pmI bought the car in 2003-3 days after I bought it, I had to have the heads redone. Researching its history, I found the car had been abused, however, as of today, it has 199,500 miles on it and its still as sound as the day I bought it. Just the past oil change it has started to use oil, so I need to investigate that. This has been the most reliable car I have ever had. When it finally dies, I will buy another one.

The Best Machine On The Road! - 2004 Honda Accord
By melbourne123 - November 11 - 10:00 amOne of the best cars on the market. Styling, comfort, saftey, performance, maintnance surpass any competitor on the market. I had a 2003 camry before I bought this accord, there is no comparison. The v6 in the accord is a better performer and has better gas mileage. The accord also has better saftey ratings than the accord. Great overall car. I have already put 13,000 miles on the car and havent had one problem.

Gearbox and Transmission Junky - 2008 Honda Accord
By Schuyler - November 10 - 6:03 amWhen I first received this car 11-2007, I noticed that the it was hard to shift into 3rd gear and would often pop out of 3rd gear and was told at the dealership that this would go away at around 10,000 miles well it did not. So then they replaced the gears and a week later fourth gear went out; thus every time I tried to put it into fourth gear yesterday and it would pop out again along with making a very high pitch sound but was not raising the revs on the tach Meter. Today it made high whining sounds in every gear and I barely made it to the dealership today. The dealer had my car for two days last week and will have my car for 4 days this week, I sure hope Honda can fix this.

Good Car - 1997 Honda Accord
By tim d - November 9 - 11:32 pmMy wife had one of these for her first new car. Very reliable, easy to maintain and drive. Mileage was 30MPG combined, which was exceptional. A few minor problems: clutch start interlock switch (fixed myself) and a/c condenser kept getting stopped up with leaves and spilling water on floor (dealer wanted $200 to install a screen to keep this from happening). Fairly fun to drive and reasonably fast for a basic car. We had the coupe, but should have spent the money on the sedan so we could get more use out of it after we had kids.

By Mishuff - November 9 - 10:00 amThe 1998 Honda Accord is a wonderful vehicle. I love mine and have had no problems with it. I bought it brand new in 1997 as a 1998 year model. It is maintenece free! The gas milage is great, as wel as the reliability, and it is fun to drive.
