Overview & Reviews
Few vehicles from overseas manufacturers have garnered as much respect in North America as the Honda Accord. It hasn't achieved this status by being glamorous, sexy or thrilling. Instead, Honda just seems to have its finger on the pulse of what Americans value most. Take an Accord for a spin and you'll find it to be comfortable, roomy, intelligently engineered and easy to drive. It's also backed by strong resale value and a solid reputation for reliability.
You'll find that certain competing sedans and coupes are quicker, more prestigious or simply less expensive than the Accord. What's special about the Honda Accord, though, is its completeness. It scores well across a broader range of categories than practically any family-friendly sedan or coupe on the market. When examined from this holistic standpoint, it's easy to see why the Accord has become an automotive icon and remains one of our editors' top recommendations.

Transmission slippage - 2009 Honda Accord
By NJDOC373 - February 2 - 2:17 pmOver all I am happy to have bought my Accord Coupe V6. Its a fun car, handles good, lots of power. Recently though, Ive been aggravated by the transmission slipping in and out of gear when when Im trying to maintain a constant speed on the highway. I can actually see the tach. spike 200-400 rpms and then fall back into gear, with an accompanying pulse of acceleration. Its very annoying. The dealership seems to be avoiding the possibility that this problem exists and recently I spoke with the owner of the carwash I use and his accord and four other owners hes spoken to have had similar transmission problems - some worse than mine. I fear an ugly battle with Honda in my future.

Good Daily Commuter - 2006 Honda Accord
By Driver-C - February 2 - 12:15 pmHad the car for 4 years now. Very reliable, great mileage. It has a few creaks & rattles, but this is not a top-of-the-line luxury car, just good solid transportation.

Hope I dont jinx myself! - 2002 Honda Accord
By Rick - February 1 - 3:29 pmJust happened to come across these reviews, thought Id toss in my .02. I have over 245,000 miles on my 2002 Accord, 4 cyl. auto, and have performed all scheduled maintenance: timing belts @ 90K, oil change every 5- 7,000 miles, trans fluid changed, the works. My first Honda, a 1990 Civic, had over 250,000 miles before I bought the Accord. I do lots of highway driving, but have no reason to stray from Hondas.

Disappointed - 2009 Honda Accord
By Ulysses - January 31 - 11:33 amCar was ten months 2900 miles. Three cylinders had to be replaced! Ride very rough as if one were in a truck. The passengers felt every bump. This bumpiness and jostling made it impossible for a ride of any length or distance The car had rattles in it. The dashboard panel was confusing. If one pressed the remote open the door too hard or long, the sun/moon roof opened. An immense annoyance and risk to the interior of the car. Headlights had to be manually turned on Fuel mileage very poor, about twelve miles per gallon. Do not purchase a six cylinder engine of this car. The 2009 Honda Accord is a great disappointment. In sum, do not buy this 2009 Honda Accord

Net + Over Prior Models - 2009 Honda Accord
By Net Plus - January 29 - 12:02 pmThis car has exceeded all my expectations and is an improvement over prior models. Car is larger than prior models and it feels it. Seats offer a firm comfortable ride. Leg rooms seems very adequate. Rear seating area is quite large. The display panel looks complicated at first but once I got familiar, its been very functional. Visibility is quite improved over prior model. Hands free Bluetooth system is an extremely nice feature. I have lossed a couple MPGs but given the cars size the mileage is still very good. Adequate trunk space. Traction control makes the car very reliable to drive is slippery conditions. Road noise level is very disappointing.

BUY ONE - 2002 Honda Accord
By love-it1191 - January 27 - 7:27 pmBought this ex v6 from a local dealer about a year ago with 54k on the odometer. Today there is just over 90k. Ive gone on several trips to the mountains and MI over the year. The v-6 has great acceleration, the traction control comes in handy with this powerhouse. The tranny at times hesitates and has issues finding the gear it wants but thats only when its cold. The ride is great, in the twisty roads of the mountains it handles like a sports car but smooth like glass on the highway. I would suggest this car to anyone, in the past year and 36k later no issues what so ever, plan on running this one into the ground.

Middle of the Road Value - 2005 Honda Accord
By DMM - January 26 - 4:32 pmThe car runs alright overall. Maintenance is medium level. Braking and road noise is fairly high, not something I expected from Honda. Also, either the front or rear brake needs replacement every year. At 71,000 miles, the oxygen sensor failed, costing 300 dollars at the dealership to repair. This seems a common failure in Honda cars.

RELIABLE - 2003 Honda Accord
By Just me..... - January 25 - 3:31 amThis car is reliable and gets good gas mileage for a 6. Stereo display went out - it is covered on warranty past the normal warranty of the car. Call Honda and see if you are covered. Catalytic are also covered after a special extended time also. They are known to fail. Seats get uncomfortable on long drives. Honda stands up for their errors. Unlike a lot of domestic vehicles.

Nice car, great mileage, couple issues - 2009 Honda Accord
By kbuicker - January 24 - 10:58 amBought a new Honda with 500 miles (semi demo). I love the car so far. Weve owned a 2003 Accord since it was new, 98k miles, and only had to replace the AC compressor(recently). This 09 is great, here are a couple issues. The brakes squeak! My dads 08 does as well. Honda says its the #1 complaint with the car and Honda Engineering is working on a resolution. The glove box does not line up correctly when closed. The interior noise level is a little high, especially the noise from the trunk area coming into the cabin. Other than that, its an excellent car, tight build, great mileage, nice looks.
