This Year's Model Updates:

Following a complete redesign last year, the 2009 Honda Accord carries over unchanged, though the V6's official engine output is up a smidge after further testing revealed slightly more power than previously measured.

Pros:
  • Ample passenger space, high-quality interior, above-average steering feel, high resale value, available coupe body style.
Cons:
  • Intrusive road noise, button-heavy center stack, some find seats uncomfortable.

  • A Nice Car to Own - 2009 Honda Accord
    By -

I purchased this car because the transmission on my Intrepid died. I must say I am impressed. Overall, this is easily the most intelligently designed car Ive ever owned. It irritated me that Detroit couldnt bother to put as much effort into their designs as Honda does. Took a while to get used to the transmission rhythm (went from 3 to 5 speeds). Fuel economy can be an issue. On the highway, I got a nice 30+ MPG, but in the city, barely 20. I have the lowest end model, and I am impressed with the amount of extras it came with, as well as the performance of the engine. Very peppy for a 4 cyl. All in all, I am very satisfied with this car.

  • Big Mistake - 2009 Honda Accord

I fell in love with the new design. It looks great and drives well. I purchased the 4-door EX-L model in a manual transmission. I did a large amount of research before purchasing this car and found that it was really the best car for the price. All of this to say, I am extremely disappointed in my vehicle purchase. Apparently I should have done some more research. The squealing brakes after less than 5000 kms are completely unacceptable. I would never recommend purchasing the 08/09 models to anyone. Honda has disappointed so many people by creating, marketing and selling such a product. Do not buy this vehicle until Honda decides to issue a recall & fix this problem.

  • My 09 Honda Accord is a Pain in my Neck - 2009 Honda Accord
    By -

In an effort to simplify my life, I traded in my Lexus SUV for a 2009 Honda Accord EXL. Take that Chevron and Mobil! I loved the look and feel of the car. The woodgrain interior and upgraded stereo were luxurious options. It was a good fit for me. And, I was feeling pretty good about my decision - the first 39 minutes of my drive home. ThatÂ’s when I noticed the tinge of pain surging from my neck down through my back. I was in excruciating pain!!! I looked back quickly and realized that the Active Headrestraints would be the bane of my existence. A good idea gone wrong.

  • Sought after - 2009 Honda Accord

The Belize blue is a head turner. I received a good price at Sept. month end and love the car. I have 6 miles on it and have had seven compliments. Proud to be the owner...so far.

  • Road Noise, but wait theres more....... - 2009 Honda Accord

My review is just that, mine. I have owned several cars in my life from Mercedes to Chevy. I am unhappy with this Honda product. My wifes 1992 Accord was a better car. Period.

  • Really Bad Brakes - 2009 Honda Accord

I had major problems since I bought the car with real hot rear brakes and noise in the front brakes. I had to change rear pads at 14K and still no fix for my front brakes.

  • Nice, but Ouch!!! - 2009 Honda Accord
    By -

I love the way my Honda looks drives. The ride is firm, but gentle and the braking is superb! The radio in the Ex-L sounds great. I am still trying to get used to the headlight flicker that occurs at night. Not sure what is causing that, but it is not that big of an issue. The one big issue that I am experiencing has to do with the drivers seat. The seatback has a pronounced lumbar support that "forces" your back into an S. For me, this becomes painful after a few minutes of driving. So much so that I may have to trade it in for a different car if I cant get used to it.

  • Very Spacious - 2009 Honda Accord
    By -

I downgraded to a Honda Accord to save money on Gas, Payment, And Insurance. I am saving over $300 monthly now, happily. I dont have as much power as Id like to have. But thats not a necessity anyway. Very Roomy, I have heard of complaints from discomfort of the seats but I havent came across this problem.

  • Whats going on with Honda? - 2009 Honda Accord
    By -

This is my wifes car and she likes it me, not so much. Performance is very good and the ride is better than most within this size of car but the problems appear with the brakes and engine. Both the check engine and brake light come on and, at times, the engine runs very ruff, almost to the point of stalling; turn the car off, restart and it returns to running normally. The brake light is on most of the time but maybe its our winters in Wi. The dealer says there is no computer "error" info so they do not know whats going on. Its pretty bad when you are questioning whether you should take this "new" car on a long trip because of this intermittent problem. What happened with Honda?

  • Brake squeaking - 2009 Honda Accord
    By -

Car is really nice, but beginning about 3,000 miles brakes started squeaking. I understand that its happening on many new models and Honda has yet to find a solution for it. No safety concern, but annoying sound when driving, especially with windows down.
