Overview & Reviews
Few vehicles from overseas manufacturers have garnered as much respect in North America as the Honda Accord. It hasn't achieved this status by being glamorous, sexy or thrilling. Instead, Honda just seems to have its finger on the pulse of what Americans value most. Take an Accord for a spin and you'll find it to be comfortable, roomy, intelligently engineered and easy to drive. It's also backed by strong resale value and a solid reputation for reliability.
You'll find that certain competing sedans and coupes are quicker, more prestigious or simply less expensive than the Accord. What's special about the Honda Accord, though, is its completeness. It scores well across a broader range of categories than practically any family-friendly sedan or coupe on the market. When examined from this holistic standpoint, it's easy to see why the Accord has become an automotive icon and remains one of our editors' top recommendations.

I hate my accord - 2008 Honda Accord
By None - March 4 - 12:56 pmI have owned many cars, for 08 Honda took a step BACK in quality. Never have I despised a car as much as my 2008 accord EX. My car has less than 40,000 miles and I have replaced the rear brakes THREE times! Each time at about $200 at the dealer. The dealer told me they are designed to be quiet, so they wear out fast. Be prepared for an additional couple hundred dollars in repairs every few months if you are considering buying. Interior noise is MISERABLE. Road noise is insanely loud as is wind noise. Dealer looked into the issue and stated my car is flaw free, Accords are just noisy. Horrible build quality with that much noise. Trading the car in, will never buy Honda again.

Unhappy buyer - 1998 Honda Accord
By Sanjay - March 4 - 8:13 amWorst car Ive ever had. Problem after problem pretty much right off the lot. Transmission, engine mounts, wheel bearings (twice), suspension. Ive plowed so much money into this car it makes me want to cry and I still feel it will easily break down on me on the highway etc. This has been the worst used car buying experience in my life. Next time I will go to Ford - I hear they are topnotch now. I don not recommend this car or Honda to anyone.

All Kinds of Problems - 2008 Honda Accord
By Terrible Car - March 3 - 12:54 pmThis is the first Honda I have purchased on my own. My entire family owns Hondas but this will be my final Honda due to so many problems. Brakes replaced under 20000k miles rotors turned and replaced under 20000 miles and rear dash replaced. 3 out of 4 door actuators replaced. Heated mirror took 6 trips to fix after they told me I didnt have heated mirrors and I had to prove it. Brakes still squeak a lot and Honda Customer service will not do anything about it. They just say they have not had any recalls when they clearly have issues with the brakes. My parents have a pilot just had their 60k mile service replaced brakes first time and still have not turned rotors. Accord is awful.

Great Car! - 2007 Honda Accord
By gordo - March 3 - 10:01 amI bought this Accord to use as a business vehicle and it did not disappoint. 3 years and 73K miles later, it is still running strong. I have seen 32 MPG on the interstate. I like the V6 power and build quality, but the front rotors warped very quickly after buying the car. That issue will cause you to go through front tires very quickly and you have to put up with the noise and pulsing pedal. At times the brakes can be "grabby", where you are braking smoothly and then they "grab" and you lurch forward, but that is relatively small. Other than that, the car has been great, and still runs well.

Good Car w/some drawbacks - 2009 Honda Accord
By Doug - March 1 - 8:12 pmHandles well. Common road noise, VCM and poor seats not a problem for me. Interior laid out very well but have to reach too far for some highly-used buttons (rear defrost and mode button). When raining, seats get wet when you open the door. Navigation, Bluetooth, voice-controls are VERY user-friendly. MPG decent. Great drive on the highway.

Check the oil daily - 2008 Honda Accord
By Multiple Honda Owner - March 1 - 1:28 pmThis is my 9th Honda over the last 28 years. It may be my last. The car is fun to drive, handles nicely, is comfortable and burns a qt of oil per 1000 miles. Honda says this is "in specs". I have never had a Honda that used oil like this before. Because I drive for a living I cannot afford to keep this car. I change oil every 5K. In other words, I add 5 qts of oil between every change. I will trade it for something other than Honda.

Honda Slips - 2008 Honda Accord
By Boomer - February 28 - 11:47 pmThis is my 5th Honda, and sad to say, I like it the least. Is it the only sedan in its price range with no outside temp or mpg display? I was shocked to learn, after purchase, that my new 08 was not as safe as my 04, the 08 only having 3 stars in the rear crash test. The engine is responsive and quick, handling good, design the best Honda ever, but I dont like the thumping noise I hear every time I hit the brakes. Honda says its normal, I say its annoying. I am looking for a different car--Legacy? Taurus? Malibu?

Ecessive wind noise and brake issue - 2008 Honda Accord
By Joseph Lambert - February 28 - 11:31 amthis is our first Honda car and we are generally pleased with quality, gas mileage, performance, ride and handling. The vehicle is a 2008 Honda EX-P with the 4 cylinder engine. I have two major complaints 1. The wind and cabin noise especially at highway speeds. 2. The brakes had to be totally replaced at 22,000 miles that nobody can explain why this happened. The dealer has been very supportive on the brake issue but seems to be giving us a runaround on the wind noise by claiming it is typical of the 2008 model. Quite frankly, I am very surprised and disappointed that a $25,000 car designed by Honda would be this noisy to the point of not being able to hear a person in back speak.

Hybrid that blows away all others! - 2007 Honda Accord
By Excellent Value - February 28 - 10:51 amAfter two years I can tell you that Honda was foolish to discontinue this model! Unfortunately they didnt promote it as a luxury upgrade to the Tiny Civic Hybrid. 260 horsepower and miserly (avg. 33-34 mpg) on Highway and city (CT.) You know its a great value when you dont sense your driving a hybrid.

So far so good - 2002 Honda Accord
By Anita - February 26 - 9:56 amJust purchased this honda accord v6 coupe. It was a decent price and looked like it was well taken care of. Love the power and the handling. With all the snow and ice in philly right now, the traction control system is awesome and much appreciated. My only concern when I bought it was that it has 269K miles on it already. I had 2 people look at it and they couldnt find anything wrong so I bought it. It drives like its brand new. You would never guess it had that many miles on it. Time will tell how much life I can squeeze out of it.
